My son's car was having problems so we limped it into there shop thinking something was seriously wrong.. turned out it was very minor.. very honest and friendly people.. I would definitely recommend to anyone!

I can't recommend Elgin Automotive enough! It's so great to have a local shop that you can trust.
I have a Ram Ecodiesel and it requires unique supplies. They always go above and beyond to ensure I and my truck gets what we need. Communication, customer service, and timeliness is always great! I have been coming here for at least 3yrs, and will continue to do so.

BUYER BEWARE!
If i could give this place zero stars, i would.
This establishment is an absolute liar, and should not be trusted.
i purchased this vehicle from out of state, and specifically asked if there was any rust issues with the truck. Jeremy sent me a few pictures not showing the EXTREME rust issues on the frame and the rear differential being cracked.
I find it very hard to believe that any reputable dealer would not see these issues before putting a vehicle up for sale and sell it to a customer in such an unsafe manner.
You will be hearing from my attorney unless you make it right.

Very efficient, courteous and timely. Had spark plugs and a fuel injector replaced on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. I will definitely return for other repairs to my vehicle as needed.

I have always had good experiences with Elgin Automotive but today was above and beyond a good experience. Brought my car in with an absolute dead battery and was past my warranty. Was given a better battery with a longer warranty and wasn’t charged for labor and battery was a fraction of the cost. I really couldn’t afford to put down over $500 for what a new battery would have cost, so thank you so much for valuing your customers and not price gouging people. This is why I always recommend you to everybody that needs maintenance!

Had them change a flex plate.
Got the vehicle back and and after driving it ONCE I found my custom made Tom Woods drive shaft missing 1 of 4 flange bolts. None of them were tightened down all the way either. A rear drive shaft failing on the front mount is more than just a little dangerous.
I was also charged $160 for a part I didn’t need nor did I even get it. The return process was unclear and I’m still skeptical I even got it as the manager couldn’t make sense of it after they allegedly reduced the refund value from my second bill. That’s right, Second. They also fixed my AC and it failed again within the week I had to return the vehicle. Where they started the work and ordering parts without even getting a confirmation on the estimate from me.
I’m not happy to say the least.
Im an agricultural mechanic myself and decided to take a chance on a local business and save myself the time of doing it myself. This business absolutely failed the opportunity I afforded them. All for the low low price of $2000.
Save your money and potentially your life. Go somewhere else.
