Short version: Do not use Carl’s Cleaners; if you live in the Fair Oaks area, you’d be better off going to Comet Cleaners in Leon Springs - it’s worth the slightly longer drive and their customer service is fantastic.I’m not usually one to leave negative reviews of this length, but my customer service experience with Carl’s was notably terrible. I was a regular customer at Comet Cleaners, but my wife suggested I try Carl’s since they were closer by just a bit. I’d recently gotten some new pants for work about a month prior and had been in the habit of taking them in to the dry cleaner to avoid having them get ruined and faded in the washer, so I figured I’d try something that would be a little more convenient to pickup and dropoff. When I stopped in, there was a young woman at the front who seemed very confused about why I was there. I asked her for dry cleaning service on my pants and I noted I was a new customer. She asked me for my phone number, which I thought was odd since I’d literally just told her I was a new customer, so when she told me that she didn’t find me in the system, I got the impression she just wasn’t listening to me. She asked me to write down my information on a notepad so she could enter it in the system and I left the pants there. She said it’d take two days and I didn’t receive a ticket when I checked out.I don’t know why I assumed I’d get a message or a call stating the cleaning was done, so I stopped in on my own to check to see if the pants were ready. This time, an older woman was behind the counter who, when I gave her my information, was unable to find me in the system. Presumably, the girl who took my information didn’t actually enter anything in the computer, so the only information they had was my phone number. I provided my information, again, and took my pants with me.When I took the clothes out of the plastic, I noticed several scorch marks along seams, pockets, zippers, in the general outline of the inner linings. It was obvious what happened - they were pressed, incredibly hot, which left faded spots anywhere the fabric wasn’t completely flat. I also noticed the pants were tighter and shorter, coming above my ankle. On top of all that, a hem that I had done on the pants was ripped loose. Both pants, in significant worse shape than when I dropped them off. After about a month of phone calls, I had someone on the phone tell me that, after a thorough investigation, the pants were not shrunken and that they followed the cleaning instructions on the garment (when I specifically requested dry cleaning). They took no accountability for the damage.Oh, and the final nail in the coffin - they were more expensive than Comet Cleaners too. By about 5 bucks for 2 pairs of pants. To summarize, they had poor customer service at the shop, did poor quality work, had terrible staff, poor communication that had to constantly be initiated by me, and a completely unsatisfactory resolution to a problem them created. Do not use their services. I could not recommend them less.

not good service at all! paid $20 to get some shirts and a pair of pants dry cleaned. clothes came back smelling terrible I called to ask for my money back as I did not want to take back, but they refused to give me my money back. I told on clock employee to have management call me and provided my number which he really didn't want to take down. they never called back. terrible service. hope the $20 is worth this terrible yelp review. don't take your clothes there.

I took my daughter in laws gown for graduation to Carl's to be pressed. I went on a Monday and was promised it would be ready next day (Tuesday) after 5:00 pm. I showed up Tuesday at 5:10 pm and my item was not ready. In fact, they hadn't touched it. I was told if I can wait they will do or I can come back the next day.I opted to stay and have them press it since I needed the gown. I was still charged $15 just for a pressing. The gown was pressed okay but did not like that it was not ready as promised and having to wait. With gas being so expensive I didn't want to make a second trip or show up and still not pressed. They did not offer a discount for not having ready.

Dropped 8 pairs of jeans off and stated that I wanted heavy starch. I went in the next day to pick them up, and when I walked in I immediately got the impression from the young blonde tall girl working the front that I was a problem to her day. Once I got my jeans back, they were not done like I like them and nothing like what they have done before. I expressed my concern to the young lady and stated that they were not done to my satisfaction nor were they heavy starch and more comparable to light starch. She looked at me and said rudely that they are heavy and they can’t do anything about it and it will be 70$. I will not be coming back here anymore and do not recommend this cleaners to anyone! The young lady needs to work on customer service because that is the biggest deterrent for me

I've used Carl's Cleaners for three years with mediocre results. My shirts have come back with an oily residue lately, workers have locked the doors during business hours, and promised deliveries have been days late resulting in multiple trips. All of this adds up to an experience that is poor with workers who claim they have no authority to fix the situation. I would look elsewhere for your dry cleaning needs.

Well, I thought I would give Carl’s Cleaners a second chance but, unfortunately I received the same poor customer service I did in my first experience. Neither of the two ladies who helped me when I dropped off and when I picked up could be bothered with me being a customer. It’s as if they were mad at me for coming in and bringing my dry cleaning to them. When I dropped off they didn’t even count my shirts or confirm the estimated cost. No receipt no ticket just hope your shirts get cleaned and pick them up. At pick up the employee was so uninterested in what she was doing it was amazing. It only takes a minute or two to provide excellent customer service. I’ll be taking my dry cleaning elsewhere. If you want to be treated like dirt this is the place for you.

I dropped off one item to the Fair Oaks Ranch location, which was a BRAND NEW bedspread I had just purchased off Amazon. When I received my bedding back about a week later there were numerous black stains on the skirt of my bedding! In addition, there were about 6-8 pins holding the bedding on the hanger and were pinned so tight that it was pulling on my already delicate item. Pointing it out to the employee, she was very nice and said that they would re-run it at no cost. I also asked if they would not pin my item as I was concerned about the delicate nature of the fabric.Another week passes and I go to pick up my cleaning and the stain is still there and it is pinned all over the place again! In fact, the spotting agent they apparently used actually left an “oil like” stain on the bedding, in addition to the original stain that they did not get out. Reluctantly, I let them run it again.Fast forward to today and Carl’s Cleaners has had my bedding for about a month and a half and, while the staining has improved in appearance, they have still not been able to get the complete original stain out of it. The employees at the Fair Oaks location have been very nice, but defer everything to the Boerne location because that is where the owners live. Rhonda at the Boerne location was also very nice, but could only communicate that she had to wait until the owners were in to decide what the next steps would be. The length of time it has taken to actually speak to an owner, in addition to everything else, has been very frustrating in and of itself.Today was the first day that I actually spoke to Tammy, who is one of the owners. She offered to run my item yet again. With the amount of times my bedding has been cleaned and all the pinholes that were put into it, I explained that I was concerned about the compromised quality of my item at this point. When is enough, enough? She then insisted that they did not put the stain in my bedding and, instead, accused me of doing it/insisted I received it that way from Amazon. I am an honest person and would NEVER go to these lengths to try to “cheat” the system. I would have been more than happy to get a refund for my cleaning and ruined bedspread and go on my merry way, but she refused. I even had my husband call with no success.Needless to say, I feel disrespected and cheated and now I am out a new bedspread and a dry cleaning (which wasn’t cheap)! Do yourself a favor and NEVER do business with these people! You will regret it! Horrible horrible experience and I am in utter shock as to the way I was treated by the owner, Tammy. I am so so incredibly disappointed with the quality of dry cleaning and customer service at Carl’s Cleaners! I would rate this business a “0” if I could!

I’ve never had such dirty wrinkled clothes sent back from the cleaners until Carl’s. That’s $80 I will never get back. Never go here.
