February 2025 by Gertrude C Okafor
Before now I usually don’t have a reason to write reviews however the kind of rude and nasty treatment I received from the guy on duty today, Feb 25th was the first of its kind! I hadn’t taped my package because I didn’t have the knowledge of that and when I asked for a tape to do that, he pointed me to some tapes hung on the wall for sale! I asked him why he couldn’t just give me the one he had on his desk to tape my package, he said I had to buy a tape and tape my package myself with such a straight rude nasty face and no feeling of empathy whatsoever. He is in no way customer-centric and should not be allowed to work in such an establishment.

Deserves no star. I went to return a package from Amazon. It says they close at 430, I arrived at 415 but they were already closed. Came back the next day and was told I needed to cut and tape the return labels on myself, which is fine had I known. When I asked if they had scissors or tape I could borrow the guy pointed to table that had supplies to buy. Apparently one piece of tape was to much to ask for.

We have been going to this post office the past month or so. Everytime we go there, Ms Connie helps us out greatly in her genuine kindness. We are blessed whenever we go there. It's a little small place but that's not an issue. If only every staff member were like Ms Connie's clones, UPS and FedEx might go out of business (tongue in cheek a bit but we are that impressed by her.)

If I could give no stars I would, I probably won’t be using this Post office again. I live on Baxter trail in Fate but would rather drive to the Rockwall post office. Yesterday Sept 1, 2023 I went to the post office in Fate to mail a package. I had the prepaid label but I needed an envelope or box to put the item in. First of all there was several people in front of me as I stand in line. It was about 3:40pm. I heard and watch the African American postal service clerk, chatted with and greeted everyone that came up to her. As I walked up to her I said hello she didn’t respond but just looked at me, like how can I help you without saying it. I proceeded to ask her for an envelope or a box to put my package in. She proceeded to say we don’t provide envelopes so I said to her I was hoping to pay for it not get it for free. She then pointed behind me I went and picked a big envelope, put the package inside and put the prepaid label on top and she took it from me and put it on the back counter then proceeded to say, “we don’t provide tape”, so I said to her I can tape it myself if it’s too much trouble. She handed me back the package and I ask if I could borrow her tape to attach the shipping label, she looked at me and said, “No”. So I looked at her, she said I can tape it but I can’t give you the tape. I said to her I have never had this issue with the post office downtown Rockwall, she said with her attitude, “well that’s downtown”. I didn’t realize that the US postal service has different rules for different locations. I felt so embarrassed that this girl was treating me this way over using a piece of tape. I was going to just buy a whole roll of tape just for the principle but other people were waiting behind me and it was close to closing. I can now see why in a couple of years the postal service will be absolete and they might be all out of a job. She was very unhelpful and full of attitude for no reason. For me I don’t have to use USPS. I often use UPS anyway and whether or not this review goes anywhere I know the Fate post office won’t be getting my business again. She must think everyone is the same. Not me, Not this one.

This post office is a nightmare. They are never open and the drop box is broken. Yesterday I went in to drop my packages off for my online business and the inside drop box was full. The door to the counter was locked and the employee was standing at the counter. I wave to get her attention to see if I could set 3 packages (already labeled with postage!) just inside the door until someone could empty the drop box. She puts up the closed sign and says she’s on her lunch break. I get it everyone needs to take breaks but the tone she used was very rude. Instead of her just being able to pull the bin back or unlocking the door for me to leave my packages (taking maybe 10 seconds out of her day) she was very unhelpful. My packages already had postage and simply needed to be left there. If there’s only going to be one postal worker at this location I would imagine it needs to be someone a bit more flexible.

They have gone from almost useless to completely so! Their hours are terrible! No one who works for a living can possibly get there when they’re open. And they don’t bother to post their lousy hours outside where you can read them from the lot. You have to get out of your car and walk inside to find out they’re closed. Stopped by yesterday to use the drop box outside, which is currently broken! So the only way in which they have ever been useful is not currently an option. Thus, completely useless.

After requesting an inquiry into why my online car parts order is a week overdue after being routed willy-nilly around the local area and has apparently now been marked “Return to Sender” by the local Post Office Branch, I was contacted by the local supervisor this morning and notified that putting a name and valid address (address confirmed by USPS Customer Service yesterday when I launched the inquiry) is…“…not how it works.”
