Beyond our expectations! We had a two bd/two bath villa. So many amenities: pools, hot tubs, small store, a few restaurants, miniature golf, over-sized chess, checkers and connect four, fire pit, sports courts, indoor water park. The property was well maintained. It is divided into several units. Unfortunately getting from the beach rooms to the water park required driving on a highway, so not walkable. But, if your room is near the activity center you have no need to drive.
You could easily spend a week here with kids and not get bored.

The room was surprisingly quiet and spacious which was nice, but it did have a few issues. The room wasn’t as pictured online on the Holiday Inn website or Expedia. There was a musty smell when we checked in. Hot water was limited, only 2 people could shower before the hot water ran out, let alone fill the whirlpool tub, not great for a room that sleeps 6. We also spotted a couple roaches in the room during our stay.

We’ve come here for a few years now and have enjoyed the amenities. Our kids are a little older now (11 and 10) and they think the indoor water park is nice but a little small. It’s a nice option when it’s too chilly for the outdoor pools. They have lots of activities available and an on-site grill. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because you can hear people walking around in the room above you. The walls and floors are thin. Also, a vehicle is needed to get to and around town. These may be minor issues to some, but trying to keep families to step quietly or not run around inside can be tough. The location is great because it’s easy to get to, it’s right on the lake, and it’s quiet. There is a grocery store not too far from the resort, but it is expensive. There’s a Walmart about 20 minutes away that may be better worth your time for groceries or other items that were forgotten.
Edit/Update: not 2 hours after writing this review, we took the kids to the water park (we wanted to use our passes before they expired) and they had a blast. I guess they haven’t outgrown it. Also, you can bring food and drinks from The Grill into the water park. Despite the cold weather outside, it was nice and toasty in the water park. I was told the water is cool, but once in the water, it was fine. I’ll take their word for it.

This review is regarding Silverlake Resorts as a hole. The customer service is terrible, they will disregard any contract or deed agreements that benefit you, the website and pay by phone never works and they will hound you to no end. Regarding the Flint location... it is no longer exclusive and has become open to the public which has killed the quality of your stay. Waste of money, I would not advise anyone to buy into this.

It was a great location, the rooms were great. Difficult times when children are on the top floor screaming their heads off. Great staff

Rooms could have been a bit more clean, there were a lot of spider webs and dead bugs around that had not been swept up. The outside window screens were full of webs and debris which detracted from the great views.
Rooms: We stayed in the apartment style area a little further away from the main hub of activities. While the elevator was out for our building the stairs were not an issue for us. The rooms could have been a bit more clean however, dead bugs and spider webs abound. But we had plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy ourselves!
Nearby activities: There were plenty of activities to choose from.
Food and drinks: The cafe had very good food and service. There were a nice amount of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus dessert.
