Extremely disappointed in this auction house. I purchased several lots through a weekly auction, a truckload in fact. The men pulling my lots kept saying this is all, and I would look on the list and find another still not pulled. They seemed irritated when I would point out I was missing something. As soon as I got home and unloaded, I found 2 additional lots missing. I called and no answer, no voicemail, nothing. I called the next day with the same issue, so I emailed. No reply. Plus several items were damaged and wasn't noted as damaged on the items listing. I got this large beautiful mirror and the corner of the glass was broken. What can I do with a broken mirror. This is something that should have been listed, since it was very noticeable. I understand I am taking a chance and they do have pre-sale viewing, but that felt dishonest to me. I looked for additional contact info, but got no answer at the additional phone number. I emailed again. Now it's 14 days later and nothing. So, I'm out the money without the items and will stay far away from this place in the future.

I love Rusty By Design. Best auction house out there! I have run my business very well with the pieces I have bought in the auctions. Can't say enough nice things about this company. Employees are nice always helpful and friendly.

I am so happy we went with Rusty By Design for our on line auction Estate Sale. Very professional, from the arranging products, to the photos, to pick up. We sold 99% of EVERYTHING due to how items are arranged in lots. No neighbors just walking through and spending a dollar here and there. We made at least 10 times more than i ever anticipated. These people made a really difficult time in our lives SO MUCH easier. I have recommended Rusty to all my friends as we all have aging parents who need to downsize or have passed. Nothing negative to say AT ALL about our experience.

Rusty by Design came out on time, gave a quote for a buy out and take-away and then did exactly what they said they would do. They made our downsizing and move easier.

FANTASTIC!! I dont understand the negative reviews..Rusty By Design was AMAZING doing my moms on-line estate sale auction. Everything they told me to expect was 100% accurate. The employees showed up at the exact minute they said, and those guys got to WORK. They put things into lots, which help in the liquidation aspect. I was expecting maybe max 5k when all was said and done..try quadrupling that, and then some! The pictures they painstakingly photographed and the descriptions were great. The auction ran great, and pick up was so well organized. They brought out lots according to time slots..no one even entered the home unless they picked up furniture. I will recommend this to ANYONE dealing with the death of a loved one, or just the need to clear a house for sale. This company was a Godsend. The employees compassionate, friendly, educated in their business..just a joy to work with.

When my dad passed away unexpectedly and my mom could not live on her own anymore I was faced with having to get their home cleaned out and ready to sell. Rusty By Design was so helpful and caring through the whole process. They did all the work and got the job done quickly and professionally! I highly recommend them.

First, I enjoy being a buyer from RbD. So far, 99 percent of what I've purchased has been as expected. Only one time was a huge disappointment. As a consigner, suffice to say I won't utilize their service again. We were so dissatisfied with the outcome.... Not because of what our sold items brought, but because of all they chose to donate instead of sell. Their call; I get it. Just won't use them for anything else that I want to sell.

I had a Horrible experience and will never purchase anything from Rusty by Design - If I could, I would give them zero starts. I bought from them a few items total value of $ 450. I was charged to my credit card the same day the total amount plus their fees, but I did not receive any of the items I purchased at their auction. Rustic by Design did not email, text, give or send me the amount for shipping. I called the auction, an the woman I talked to responded that they had tossed/thrown away all my items. She said they needed the space for another auction. I couldn't believe they threw away Louis Vuitton and Coach handbags and the other things I bought at their auction.

***BIDDERS BEWARE***I won a handful of collectibles (with their own boxes) and paid a hefty amount for the items won so this wasn't a cheap auction with cheap items. Everything was fine until I was given a very high shipping fee. This price was about double what I had paid from any other auction house. With that said I paid the shipping costs and waited on the items to arrive. Once I opened the box the real issue immediately became apparent. Rustys packed my box by just throwing all my items into the box and sent them on their way. Like I said above, each item had its own box and the laziness of the person to just throw everything in the shipping box is infuriating. ALL the items I received were damaged and are pretty much worthless. I have ordered from about 10 -12 different auction houses and never had any shipping issues let alone an entire order destroyed. I will not be ordering again from Rustys and I advise anyone reading this to stay away!

Love Rusty auctions. I shop often and always find neat items. Autumn is always so helpful and has my items in a group when I arrive at pick up.

I had a great initial meeting with them. Was told they sell approximately 98% of the items on the online auction and that the items not sold were donated and I would receive a receipt of the donation for tax purposes. Not so. We donated household items, and many pieces of antique and large furniture that was in good shape including a king size bedroom suite, a queen size bedroom suite, a sectional we bought last year, etc. Anyway, for all of our items they "sold" we are due approximately $2000. that's fine, we understand auctions are there for folks to get items at a large discount in most cases, however, we knew we would be able to use the donation receipt to help offset the loss. I was told today that they never said that and the items are donated in bulk to charity. So... Rusty's gets the tax break for their company and the customer gets nothing. I will let my friends and family know, not to use them. Quite a Bait and Switch

After many years of purchasing from Rusty By Design, we had them do an estate sale for us when we downsized and moved. They were great! The process went smoothly and unfolded just as expected. It was a relief not to have to deal with doing that ourselves and well worth the money. We also made a nice chunk of change on the sale. Win-win! My only regret is that I should've taken the time to point out a few things that were collector's items and could've brought more money.

Conceptually, this service and process looks and feels like a great opportunity to consign furniture and other home items you no longer need or have room for but unfortunately, it did not work out that way for me. To be fair, the movers themselves were helpful and professional and Laura, my salesperson was responsive and explained the process well. The website and layout also looked very good. However, I was very disappointed with the net return I will receive. I consigned a number of pieces (over 15) of furniture from Room and Board, Crate and Barrel, Pier 1 and West Elm to name a few of the more name brands. I estimated the value at original sale price of approximately $20,000. Some items were older than others, but all were in either great or very good condition and Laura felt like all would sell at a fair market price. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but from what I read; furniture tends to net a 20-30% of original value assuming it is in good condition. I was informed that my net return (minus moving fees and commissions) would be $276. Yes, you read it right. Two hundred and seventy-six dollars. Less than the value of one of the least expensive items on the list. I was referred to Rusty by my realtor. I wish I had read the reviews online before making the decision or I would most likely gone a different route. I was very, very disappointed with this news. Robert D Stephenson

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I lost both parents within 15 days of each other and I needed help with a sale and donations for the things that didn't sell. Laura came to my house and boy is she a good sales person, she really knows how to prey on your vulnerability and grief. She said all the right things, too bad none of it was true. I specifically asked her if they emptied the house when the sale was over because I knew I needed help and companies did this after having this kind of service with my aunt's estate sale. I also asked her about trash removal and she said they would handle all of it, not to worry. I have a signed contract stating the same and if it was excessive I would pay extra (which she said wouldn't be more than $200-300 which was fine). Again, I have a contract. All of the trash was left on my parents driveway in the rain for a week and the house was full of things that didn't sell and they did NOTHING with it. When I brought it to her attention she said they weren't in the trash and donation business. Can you say LIAR? Yes, she's a Liar. I immediately contacted the owner of the company Shane who didn't even respond back to me. I was also told they would take thousands of pictures and list everything separately for an online auction. I liked the idea of an online auction because my mom had been sick and the house wasn't what it once was. In reality the Rusty by Design team bundled a lifetime of belongings (45 years in this house) into 310 bundles. They didn't even describe what was in the bundles. My parents had beautiful clothes and they only took a couple of pictures of them, bundled them all together and sold as a group for around $11. I had a brand new chair massager that was included in "medical supplies" that wasn't even mentioned. I also found bags of clothes including a full length leather Womens coat and mens button down Ralph Lauren shirts in the trash in the rain on the driveway. This place is a real s*** show, save yourself from the frustration and heartache. More to come, karma is a b**** as they say. I did finally get my $ which was a paltry $5,500 because of the way it was done.
