For the past several weeks, I’ve been trying to convert my college credits into promotion points, but I’ve encountered ongoing issues due to poor communication and inconsistent guidance from both the front desk and the education counselors.
The front desk rarely answers phone calls, and when they finally do—usually after multiple attempts—they often say they’ll pass my information along to a counselor and have them call me back. However, I never receive a follow-up call. This has happened repeatedly and has only added to the frustration.
Additionally, every time I manage to speak with a counselor, I’m given conflicting instructions. One says to simply complete the education memo form, another says I need a memo directly from my college (which was never previously mentioned), and the most recent counselor told me I can’t move forward at all due to an issue between my college and current Army transcript rules. He stated this has been a long-standing issue that “every counselor knows about,” but this was never communicated to me until now.
The lack of follow-through, conflicting information, and poor coordination have made it nearly impossible to make any progress.

The people who work here at every helpful however every time I call it doesn’t even ring just says “user busy”. It’s very very difficult to reach out to the education center which is frustrating I have to call multiple times a day to get ahold of anybody.

Better than the library when it comes to computer labs. Computers are relatively fast, doesn't have any time limits, and you don't have to pay per printed page.

Sheila A. Barthel is a Guidance Counselor in the Soldier Development Center. For 3 years she has helped me make and achieve my goals. She helped me with a budget and gave me tips to fix my credit. My future in real estate will be successful, all because she helped me from the start. Thank you to all the counselors who helped me along the way. They always are respectful, professional and take pride in helping soldiers. Special thanks to Sheila A. Barthel for making a difference in soldiers lives.
