There was trash around the flooring of the bed as well as nail clippings. The room floor was not swept.

This is inside a military base. An entry permit is required to use this hotel.

l called asking a lot of questions for a trip I'm planning this summer. I spoke with a woman named Sage, and she was so patient with me and kind. I will definitely be choosing to stay here for the trip, and I highly commend Sage for making me feel welcome. Thank you!

Was pleasantly surprised. One of the nicer on base hotels I’ve stayed at. Staff was friendly, the front desk agent Sujij was amazing. Highly recommend!

They really helped me out with letting me check in early when I showed up with an outdated and unspecific letter of instruction for my class. Hotel staff was super friendly every time we interacted as well. Was super happy with my room size, comfort, and cleanliness as well! My only regret is I was too busy to lounge in the pool. They have nice laundry machines (on the 5th floor at least. Didn't investigate any other floors)Noteworthy details: This is on an Army base. Specifically Ft. Sam Houston. I don't think the Google page did a good enough job indicating that.

Edited again to change my rating back down. I've had issues receiving packages when they arrive. For instance I had 2 packages arrive yesterday. When I asked for them they only "found" one. The next day I call in the morning and there is indeed another package. It's frustrating especially when students are here for 9 weeks with no kitchen and no car. Taking an uber anywhere is at least $20 plus tip and per diem is next to nothing. If I order something, I should be receiving the package when it is delivered and I go to the front desk and ask for it. Maybe grouping packages or having a designated place for the package or keeping an electronic list of packages that have arrived would help this process be more organized. They call and leave a voice-mail when a package arrives but if you don't get the message right away there is no way to tell what day the message is left.Edited to add: I changed my rating to 5 stars necause of the prompt action from management. They opened the doors by the stairwells and placed industrial fans to help air out the second floor and it worked!! I no longer smell paint. Additionally, I recently found out they offer a shuttle service to certain gates and the commissary which increases the ability to get to the places you need ten fold. The one gate is not that far and uber and lyft both pick up from that gate, so the location is not that bad. I do wish this place had a little more to the kitchen, but with a small appliance like an air fryer, you can pretty much make anything.*****The hotel is close to the school house but far from anything else. If you don't have a car (and often rentals are not authorized), it's hard to get around. The hotel looks like it's been refreshed but the second floor smells like paint, to include my room. I've run the A/C and fan as much as possible but it's so bad I can taste chemicals when I open my mouth ?. I should have asked for another room, but I didn't think it would stick around as long. Unfortunately you cannot open windows either. The breakfast is mediocre. There is a pancake machine, cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, and 3 hot items (today was an omelet, biscuit, and some sausage patty that did not look very appetizing). Coffee and hot water are available 24/7 and they set out infused water and cookies sometimes which are delicious. The staff was super nice and helpful. Anothwr down fall is no kitchenette, if you have a longer stay it is not convenient. Just a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. There is an iron but no ironing board. The room is spacious and clean. Bed is comfy. Bathroom has a blow dryer and complementary dove brand shampoo, conditioner, and soap. To be picky, the full length mirror is right next to the bed which is ill placed imo. Overall the place would get 4-5 stars but the paint fumes are over powering. I wish they would open the doors and get some fans to air out the place.

Clean hotel, pet friendly and staff was nice. Would be 5 stars but, the shower did not have hot water during our stay which was annoying.

He took time out of his busy schedule each night to ask me how my day was and make polite conversation!Thank you Michael and the rest of the IHG staff for a great experience.

I want to give a shout out to the front desk staff (female, green/black hair, with glasses) she is such a kind person!!!!! I wish I knew her name I stayed there during my husband's CCC and she helped us so much with receiving mails which was very important to us. We bothered her many times. However, she always said "no problem" with a big smile! Sorry that I left without saying thank you to you!!!! You really are so good with customer service. Hope you know this! ? please let her know whoever manages reviews!Fort Sam Houston Holiday Inn!!!! Good job!

It is a hotel where you can get sleep. Something about the bed was a bit uncomfortable, but overall I can't complain for the price. It seemed the entire JBSA lodging facilities are geared toward med students, so students everywhere. I did not get warm welcome, and service is mediocre so you'll be ok if you don't expect anything or much. I just looked for place to stay. Facility was generally clean and service on demand is met.

Would like to thank Martin and Garry for their assistance with a complicated logistics situation regarding a recent stay. It wouldn’t have been possible to do what I wanted without their assistance and they made it happen. Five stars. Would highly recommend this customer service oriented organization.

Being on a military post creates a bit of a captive clientele, with essentially guaranteed business. One wonders if, with such a model, there is incentive to improve/innovate/work towards customer satisfaction, when compared to strictly civilian/off-post facilities.Nevertheless, most of the staff were fantastic. Most of the issues during my stay centered around ongoing renovations-no really changes just new carpet, some folks staying there were moved from fully functional rooms to "renovated" ones with broken furniture, non-functional AC units, and the like. The noise and whatnot from the work crew can't be held against the location, it'll self-resolve in a few weeks. The bigger issue I observed had to do with poor room ventilation, building water heater that was cranked up to 11, being woken up at like 4am by the trash service, and uncomfortable beds. That said, it was not enough to make me look for alternative lodging, so perhaps just me being nit-picky.
