They were great to work with, completed the work quickly, and gave me good, practical advice on how to deal with some of the wiring damage caused by the blowout. Monica, in particular, was really helpful! Thanks for making a stressful day a little bit easier to deal with.”
“Y'all.. solo girl driving way too fast up these hills. Of course a million engine lights come on at once 20-30 miles from the shop. My call was immediately answered, thank goodness. I asked if they could check my transmission at their location and they said yes. Due to the distance, I also asked if they offered a tow service just in case and they said yes (they work with a tow service directly) so that eased my panic. Made it to the shop and someone immediately came to check on my car. I told him what my situation was, and he gave an honest guess as to what may be the issue and what they could do to help. Within 5 minutes, they pulled a vehicle off the lift so they could do a transmission service. I'm doubtful that I'll be in the area to have to stop here again, but I have to leave a review to show my gratitude to these guys here. This kind of service is where I want my money to be spent. Thanks guys!”

Can’t thank Fernandez Auto Repair enough. I rolled in mid–road trip with my ’97 VW Jetta running rough and a lot of stress on my shoulders. They listened, didn’t jump to worst-case conclusions, and figured out the real issue quickly (ignition/spark plugs) without trying to upsell me or scare me.
They coordinated with O’Reilly’s, stayed late to get the parts and the job done, and made sure everything was done properly. After that, the car ran smooth and strong again and I was able to keep going with confidence.
Honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful — exactly the kind of shop you hope to find when you’re far from home. Super grateful I ended up here. Highly recommend. Gus and Jeanie even gave me a ride to my hotel. Life savers!

“Blowout tire on a travel trailer RV on a Sunday!!! Most places at Fort Stockton were closed. The tire places that offered 24/7 service were charging an arm and a leg.
H&L service was friendly and fast, with reasonable prices. Almost $80 less than competitors.”

“I was traveling from TX to AZ when my check engine light came on. Took it to Amistad motors to see if they could help. They were pretty busy but managed to get my vehicle checked. The crew were very professional and got me back on the road. Kudos for helping out a lone traveler. If I lived in Ft Stockton I would make Amistad motors my go to garage.”

“Great place to break down. Fast and courteous repair tech. He showed up eager and ready to jump into a difficult electrical problem. Had it resolved and we were on our way without any difficulties. He did however find a terrible transmission leak which held us up 3 days to get parts. Well because they're in the middle of Nowhere. Very pleased even had them do a oil ,fuel filter and complete transmission service.”
