This looks like a fun place to spend a hot summer day. It's unfortunate that they only open for a short time period. Perhaps if they added some more activities then they could attract more patrons and keep it open longer. Either way it's a nice place to spend an afternoon swimming, especially since it's next a beautiful park.

The Comanche Springs Swimming Pool is a great place to go whether you're a local resident or on vacation. It has cheap prices for entry (free for infants, 1$ for children, 2$ for adults), and has a concession stand. There is more than enough seating available. The employees are friendly and do their job well. The water has noticeably less chlorine than water, therefore easier to see through with or without goggles. The pool ranges from 3 feet to 11, and is open every day from 12 PM to 4 PM and then another session from 4 PM to 8PM. You can only attend one session a day, however, (in my opinion) the given 4 hours per session is enough for one day. To summarize, the Comanche Springs Swimming Pool is a great place visit.

I been swimming here since 1968. It's a Ft. Stockton shrine to the now Seasonal Comanche Springs that only flows in Winter. The pool built on pillars and the springs are hidden under the pool.

Pool says open on the website. Out of towners do not know anything about the Water Carnival. So maybe it would be helpful to have this info for future reference.

Sadly, this lovely municipal pool on the edge of Rooney Park has been closed for repairs since February 2018 and is not available for public use. Information is scarce online via City of Fort Stockton and Pecos County, but a Local 2 / Fox 24 news report from around that time suggests that repairs will be ongoing through the end of 2018. When it's actually open, it's pretty grand, so I'll update my review when it becomes accessible again. The pool is located near the historic fort, which makes sense, as the fort was constructed to take advantage of the once abundent fresh water source. The springs stopped flowing in the 1950s when big tract landowners began pumping groundwater to such a degree that no more could flow from the aquifer to the surface. The people sued, since agriculture and other public interests were being harmed, but the landowners won and groundwater resources in Texas have been at risk ever since. More about that situation is detailed in this 2005 essay from Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine and this report from Texas Standard

Only pool in Fort Stockton. Great atmosphere and great manager. This is a very historic part of Fort Stockton, and they have done a great job keeping it up.
