Heard about Cornerstone Assistance Network through several people who have gotten help there. Unfortunately this is far from the experience I had when I called yesterday. A place that helps people in the community and claims to be Christian should be very very careful to treat each individual person with the same care and compassion. The screening process is ridiculous, they decide wether or not to help you from a voice message or a short phone conversation. If you don't get a call back then they aren't interested in helping you. If you do get a call back they've decided they will help. It didn't take long to receive the call and I was so thankful I felt like God was answering my prayers. Unfortunately the conversation was impersonal and very brief. Afterwards, I was referred to a homeless shelter that helps people with criminal records. WHAT? Im homeless from being evicted from my home 1st time ever at 41. I'm not a criminal I'm a child of the living God. We are all supposed to be more like Jesus every day in everything we do and the feeling people have from their experience here can have disastrous consequences. Especially someone looking for God and finding he's not there. Using God's name to promote a ministry or non profit's services is very serious. It's important to walk the walk not just talk the talk.

Was given their information by a top-notch organization, and told that they help with rental assistance and was told a completely different story on the phone. If you guys do not help with rental assistance, you need to stop letting the word get out that you do help with rental assistance.
