Don't let the exterior fool you, the inside of the Dock Book shop has a wonderful collection of books by Black authors, for Black readers (and just any reader in general who wants to diversify their reading experience). I went to a poetry reading program here (they have a stage in the book store!) and I fell in love with their collection of books, ethnic clothing and other wonderful knick knacks! Would definitely recommend to readers!

Correction to a previous post. This is not the only black owned book stores in the DFW. Glad to have the option of this location. Planning to visit and make purchases at all the black owned bookstores. Supporting business that we so need

I bought a Jeezy Adversity For Sale book from The Dock Bookshop via an Instagram link through Centre for the Jeezy book signing in Dallas. I made my purchase the day before but it was late into the night around 11 something. When I went to go pick up my book my name was not on the list. However I showed them my receipt and the nice ladies that helped run the book distributions made sure I had my book for the event to get signed - they had one more left too.

My wife and I looked online for something fun to do for Valentines Day, and found a spoken word poetry event here. The bookstore has a wonderful vibe, and the event was fantastic in every way: the DJ, the poets, the hosts, and the food was all great. Definitely worth going back!
