Lots of choices, beautiful plants, holiday and garden decor BUT in my honest opinion they were very pricey even for the smallest and simplest things. I was disappointed and left without purchasing anything.

A big shout out to Glenn and Emily for their exceptional customer service! They both are very knowledgable and helpful. After coming to Mike's, I don't want to go anywhere else to buy my plants or gardening supplies.

Great selection, but everything appears to be marked way WAAAAYYYY up, with a sign that says "___% off" bringing things down to a still-overly-inflated price and things like a little metal bistro set for $800 or tiny sundials for $139, when you can find the exact same thing on Amazon for exactly $61. Crazy crazy pricing. Too bad, because their selection was really good.

If you like plants, you'll love Mike's! They have everything you're looking for, plus the stuff you didn't even know existed. If you like flowers, they have everything in season. Want edibles? They carry a plethora of veggie, fruit, and herb variations. Ask about the Pineapple Mint, it smells incredible! Garden decor, pots, water fountains, soil, sprays, and other supplies - this is the all in one shop. Plan to walk through aisles and aisles to see what they have, or ask the super knowledgeable staff, and they will get you taken care of in no time!

"Dear Mike's Garden Center, Please stop selling Asclepias curassavica (tropical milkweed, bloodflower, scarlet milkweed, sunset flower, silkweed). They hurt us. Please carry Asclepias incarnata, A. tuberosa, A. syriaca, A. speciosa, and A. asperula instead. It's actually illegal to ship curassavica to Texas. Sincerely, the Monarchs." The Mike's Garden Center manager was brusque and pounded on themes that were not relevant to my request that they consider not selling the milkweed that hurts Monarchs and is deemed by the Texas government to be a noxious weed which cannot be shipped here. We had brought in two Asclepias we'd purchased only to discover they were A. curassavica. Earlier I had at first mistakenly called Weston Gardens in Bloom (8101 Anglin Dr, Fort Worth) where I had purchased an A. tuberosa (and wanted to buy their A. incarnata) to ask if they accepted returns. They graciously said yes if we brought the receipt. I figured Mike's Garden Center might be just as gracious and if not I'd just have to destroy the Monarch-killing plants. I went. I brought my neck fan because it is always a miserable apocalyptic-temperature at Mike's except in January. I saw the "NO RETURNS NO EXCHANGE" sign and said "OK. But I'm really here to talk to the manager." The cashier said they might make an exception under the circumstances and she said she'd get the manager. He showed up loaded for bear. Calmly, I showed him the facts from the federal government's website, and the statistics from the Smithsonian, and "Molecular Ecology." I asked if he'd consider not selling it anymore as politely as if my beloved genteel gramma were watching me. "Irregardless of what's on your little paper people buy it." "It's not my little paper -- it's a government website." "Irregardless, people buy it." "Because tropical milkweed doesn't die back and they are trying to help the Monarchs and they don't know about the harm curassavica does. You didn't even identify it as Tropical Milkweed -- only as Asclepias. This kills Monarchs, and you could sell the good ones instead." But he was loaded for bear and he shot his load. Kept barking at me that I wasn't getting a refund. "That's not why I'm here. I wanted to ask you to consider not selling plants that hurt Monarchs." Kept barking at me that I wasn't getting an exchange. Still calm, still smiling though it didn't reach my eyes: "That's not why I'm here. I wanted to ask you to consider not selling plants that hurt Monarchs." Lather, rinse, repeat repeatedly. I said to Husband "Let's go. No, don't pick them up carefully, we have to destroy them." I grasped one of the two $15 plants and snapped its stems in half, walked out to the parking lot and holding it by the mangled stems bashed it to bits. The root ball got even by bouncing back and slapping my face. I was covered in dirt. I smiled instantly and gleefully, and took a photo of my dirty self in front. Weston Gardens in Bloom (8101 Anglin Dr, Fort Worth) sells the good milkweeds (Asclepias incarnata and A. tuberosa), not the killer milkweed and graciously will give you an exchange if you bring the receipt. On Mother's Day they have tea, live chamber music, and gifts for Mom in their lovely wedding-ready show gardens.

Way overpriced on plants, pottery, and many other things, but they have a great selection to choose from.I primarily buy plant food and disease control products here. They seem to be priced about the same as other nurseries in FTW. But they offer these products in larger packages than offered at other nurseries.

Visited Mikes Garden Center for the second time. They have a great selection and their plants are well cared for. My advice to future shoppers…buyer beware of the pricing. On both visits plants that were indicated by signage to be on sale were sold at full price by the cashier.Advice to Mike, please be more specific when you place sale signs, so to eliminate confusion and disappointment.

Bought a Bartlett pear tree here about 4 weeks ago, looked a little wilty but figured with watering it would perk back up after it was in the ground. A few days after we planted it, certain branches were looking blackened and some of the leaves were turning black as well. Turns out the tree has fire blight and when I called to ask them about what could be wrong with it when I described the issue, I was told I just need to water it more and it will be fine. I asked about a return or exchange policy and was told they didn't have one. I will not buy any fruit trees from Mike's in the future with no way of knowing they are healthy.

YOU CAN’T FIX Poor plant quality-dont waste your $$$$. Shrubs look great at the store, they die when u get them home in the ground. I spent a fortune on their plants last year, and most of them died. Mike’s used to have a guarantee on their plants, but I got different answers from 2 different employees. The manager said ‘since the old man died, return policy is no more’. Another employee told me it is ‘6 months now’. I expressed my concerns about them having poor plant vendors last year, and the manager agreed with me that they did, although she would do nothing to make it right. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable nursery that is picky about the vendors they buy plants from. Mike’s plants will ultimately die. CHEAP VENDORS= BIGGER PROFIT MARGINS for MIKE’s.

The lady at checkout was super rude and overcharged us. After I questioned our reciept she got her pen and highlighted what she charged and stated she didn't. I went with my pink pen and explained we had nothing for that amount, she stated she didn't overcharge us and walked away from us as I was trying to explain and talk to her. The gentlemen that was helping us stood next to us confused as well. (he was super helpful and friendly) She charged us 9 items when I only purchased 8. To avoid confrontation, I left because I knew the situation would escalate. He rudeness, lack of caring to listen, and let me show her what was on our cart shows the type of service. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT CAUSE THE IDOIT THERE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO DO HER JOB. You can look at the receipt yourselves. 9 items charged when I only took home 8.

This is by far the best garden center I've found so far in DFW. The staff are extremely nice and happy to help you find anything or answer any questions. Excellent selection of plants, seeds, fertilizer, anything that you need for your yard. This will be my go-to place going forward, especially because they're so extremely friendly and happy to answer all of my stupid questions. You wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it and see the giant bright yellow building. Go check it out. You'll find something you love and won't be disappointed.
