A friend and I were driving and he asked me if I preferred Auto Zone or O'Reilly. I told him for the longest time I was a Auto Zone guy but recently became a fan of O'Reilly because of their customer service. We arrived at O'Reilly and Bob helped us with my headlight issue. He was very respectful and eager to help every step of the way from researching the correct product to physically helping us change out the headlights which proved to be extremely difficult. I just want to say thanks again, Bob, very much appreciated.

I'd bought a battery awhile back from this store several years ago but I was not sure when. I'd had an issue with my truck starting a few months ago and went back to the store. An employee kindly checked my battery and said it was about 12-13 volts. He offered to pull the battery and replace it if it was under warranty, but wanted to see the sticker which was not visible as installed. I told him I'd monitor the situation (I had an appointment) and come back if there were further issues. Today I had to jump start my truck again with a jump start device (wonderful product) and went back to the store. There was some disagreement about proof of purchase and warranty status, which I thought could be proven by the 'sticker' on the side. They had an account record for me in their system with zero purchase records (?). (I guess they purge records?) I was focused on getting the battery pulled to determine warranty status, whereas the (new) manager was focused on my proving I owned the battery. I felt like I was not being listened to at this point. Things got a little tense I suspect based on my understanding from my prior visit. Unfortunately another customer jumped into the middle of the conversation and exacerbated the situation, escalating matters I asked him to stay out of the matter as it was none of his business. He claimed it was and mentioned several times that he was a general manager at Vandergriff and somehow it was his business!? The manager asked the other customer nicely to tend to his store business with his associate. The store manager (Sammy) recognized that he had an upset customer and decided to take a step beyond their strict policy. He pulled my battery and determined it was indeed out of warranty, which was what I'd wanted O'Reilly's to do. I'd previously said that if it was not under warranty I'd buy a new one. I was even prepared to buy a higher end battery, which unfortunately would be special order. This matter was complicated both by my not producing a receipt from several years ago, which I thought was not required since it was clearly an O'Reilly's product, and the store online records indicating I had an account and no purchase records (why would anyone have an account if they never purchased anything?). Sammy checked and replaced my battery and made a sale. He took a step beyond and turned a difficult situation into a win for both his customer and his company. We ended the transaction with a handshake and, thanks to Sammy, O'Reilly's still has a customer (and a positive Yelp review). Thanks again Sammy!

The store on Meadowbrook in Fort Worth is great! Makes the one on Forest Lane in Dallas look like a bunch of jerks. The Meadowbrook guys are always helpful!

Problem solved. Visited this store on Sept. 10 to buy car seat covers. Was told by the sales person that if they did not fit, they could be returned with the receipt. Wife went to do that today, but the return was not accepted by Manager Sammy Caddo. I spoke to Sammy on the phone and what an attitude. He told my wife that if I came to the store and disrespected him (Didn't even do that on the phone) that he would throw me out of the store. Seems very unprofessional to be threatening customers. Will see what cooperate does with this untrained manager...Regional Manager Brian Sitter intervened promptly and the problem was solved.
