I am so disappointed with my experience. I read all the reviews and everything said this was the place to go. I had an appointment and ended up leaving after 30mins having not being called back and no updates. I was even EARLY! I get doctors fall behind and don't truly respect their patients time, but an update would have been nice. I drove 30ish minutes to get there and made the appointment during my lunch time knowing things could be behind. I know nothing will come of this, so be aware there is a chance they will waste your time and not give a damn.
The front desk wasn't all that nice either. I let them know I was leaving and had wanted to reschedule, but the fact I was met with such flippant behavior changed my mind.
Moral of this essay, find somewhere closer to home because this place isn't it.

EDIT:
I originally gave this place 5 stars because my skin has improved tremendously since seeing Dr.Carter. And that’s still true, I’m proud of my skin and I get compliments on it daily. However, their prices are outrageous. I’ve been going to Affinity Dermatology for two years at this point and nearly every visit my wait time is about 15-30 minutes, despite me getting there early. I either speak to a doctor for no more than 10 minutes, and without fail I’m with a ridiculous bill where the price varies each time from $50- $200, for speaking to them for less than 10 minutes. Prices are inconsistent because they’re choosing how much they want to charge, not based on a standard rate. Despite the appointments only being check-ups or prescribing medication (another out of pocket expense, included in the co-pay of course). This is outrageous and certainly unethical for them to pick and choose how much they want to charge just to prescribe medicine. As a patient of two years I truly feel like they are taking advantage and I do not like that at all, especially since I have to wait about 25 minutes every time.

My first visit with Adrienne, PA at Affinity.
The office is new and clean and conveniently located in Frisco. The staff is efficient and on time. Adrienne and her assistant, Annie were courteous, friendly and efficient. I’m very pleased that I made the change to Affinity.

A good 30 minutes wait for them to start the visit and then another 40 min for the doctor to come in the room while you are waiting. The doctor herself is caring and nice and very detailed, but be prepared for a long wait

This review is based off of my most recent experience, no reflection on the staff as a whole.
I have been a patient of Dr. Carter and Jaelin Gonzalez (for Aerolase treatments) for about two years since moving to Texas in 2022. One of the standout aspects of this practice is the front desk staff—they are always a pleasure to deal with, and that level of friendliness and professionalism is rare compared to many other offices I’ve visited.
I’ve been seeing Jaelin monthly for about a year, and my experience with her has always been excellent. She’s professional and a joy to work with.
On my most recent visit, I had back-to-back appointments: one with Jaelin at 10 a.m. and another with Dr. Carter at 10:30 a.m. As usual, my appointment with Jaelin went smoothly, and I was brought in on time. However, my appointment with Dr. Carter did not go as smoothly. While Dr. Carter is pleasant and did address my scalp concerns (now diagnosed as seborrheic dermatitis), the visit felt rushed, and I didn’t get a chance to discuss some other issues. By that point, I was no longer interested in bringing up additional concerns and accepted that fact.
I was brought back to the treatment room 35 minutes after my scheduled time and wasn’t seen by Dr. Carter until about 10 minutes after that. While I understand that delays can happen, this has been a recurring experience for me not only here but with other dermatologists and medical professionals as well, and I typically leave after a certain period of time. It’s frustrating, especially since I waited months for this appointment and specifically allotted 45 minutes, knowing I had a telehealth session with my own client afterward. Due to the delay, I was late for my session and had to conduct it via phone from a park, which was not ideal.
I understand that busy practices can sometimes run behind schedule, but as a patient, my time is important too. This experience left me feeling disappointed, as it caused a disruption in my own workday.

While I see very good reviews about this place, I did not have a good experience. They made me wait almost for about an hour in the lobby although I had arrived 10 minutes earlier. Then another one hour inside. The doctor seemed to be in rush, was too fast and left so quickly. And then I had to pay $180 in full for the visit which was not worth the time I waited to see the doctor and the time doctor gave me.
They make you sign the agreement where they can charge you $50/100 sth if you show up late or if you miss the appointment. What about we having to wait that long ?? I have not waited this long in any medicals before.

Affinity Dermatology was such a pleasant, helpful, and smooth office experience. Dr. Vangipuram made me feel at ease and very comfortable during my visits. She is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic, and goes above and beyond to provide excellent, expeditious care to her patients. I highly recommend her and her sweet office staff!

They charge for doing nothing and I don’t recommend them. They were no help for my cyst. After two visits I left with nothing but a “well maybe it’ll get better in a month”

My first visit to a dermatologist was nice. No long wait, not a lot of paperwork, caring staff and a medical professional with a pleasant demeanor.
