I was VERY pleased with our stay here. The rooms were clean and well designed. The bed was very soft and comfortable.
The staff were all incredibly friendly. Every time we left or came back we were greeted with a smile and a welcome.

Arriving at the hotel, it was easy to find and to get into. I’m a huge fan of the contactless room access keys that I receive in my app. Selecting my room is also very nice in the app. We were traveling with friends, so we picked rooms close to each other.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a getaway weekend and we loved it! From the room, to the staff, to the service. I do want to recognize Shaun. He was very thorough, sweet, and HELPFUL! In all ways. I recommend anyone to ask for him (if he’s working) when checking in.

Front desk was horrible first she quoted us a wrong price but we still paid it and enjoyed ourselves and our 2nd night there when we got back from dinner our room smelled like a sewer and when we called to the front to let them know that our room smelled like a sewer she told us “this is your 2nd night here I don’t see what’s the problem” which was very rude we asked for someone to come up so they can see what we were talking about but no one ever came we just sucked it up but will never be staying here again. I believe her name was Stephanie. Valet also kept messing up and checking our car out of valet for some reason.

Great hotel, incredible staff, very close to food. I really hate the body wash. It smells nice but you also smell like campfire.

Hotel is in a great location and the front desk was friendly but, the breakfast was average. Water pressure in the shower is horrible and forget taking a hot shower anytime after 10 PM and before 6/7AM since it takes forever for the water to get hot. Not sure why they don’t have Nespresso coffee as the Canopy brand is known to have them in the rooms. Parking fees are absurd and lastly, no communication between the front desk and housekeeping when I had requested a late checkout and housekeeping knocked twice before the said late checkout time.

There is no parking at this hotel, there is a parking garage behind the hotel that charges 22$ a day for guest the alternative is valet parking for 25$ a day (not including a tip) .After booking a 3 day stay , as recently as 1/18/25 for a birthday celebration using my Hilton rewards points for being a loyal customer. I usually stay at doubletree by Hilton but chose Canopy by Hilton for its boasted balcony rooms and proximity to a birthday celebration i was attending . Upon check in , around 5 pm on the coldest day of the year ( below 29) the heat was not operable. I'm not an hvac expert ( and neither was anyone one on the premises) but it was cold , the thermostat read less than 60 and there was no heat or air coming out of the vent. I was told by the front desk there were no more balcony rooms and maintenance would be sent to address the issue. The maintenance man was sent to the room with a thermometer to essentially to state that it was not "cold" to him and to suggest I close the curtain (to the balcony view) if I wanted to be warmer. After about an hour of switching on and off the breaker the room next door magically opened up and we we're moved and after a flip of the breaker in the new room the heat finally worked. The next day after my scheduled birthday celebration, I returned to the room to the smell of sewage emitting from all drains in the room. It was unbearable. After several calls/visits to the front desk and about an hour past a maintenance guy and housekeeper were sent to room to essentially pour bleach and other unidentifiable chemicals down the drains replacing the smell of feces with bleach. After about 30 mins the smell returned to the shower area but i did not want to spend my stay going back and forth with the front desk. Plus there are NO MICROWAVES in the rooms so you have to play nice with the front desk to get them to heat up your food, themselves ,in their breakroom (my to-go plate melted and I was brought back a flat box ). Both elevators ceased to work properly, one stopped working all together, the other the door would remain shut even after reaching the floor for about 45 seconds. When I informed the front desk I was told they were working on it and to use the stairs which were essentially outside. A front desk employee, later identified as the "guest services supervisor " made a comment that he apologize for all the inconvenience and the "reward points" would be returned as a result. That did not happen. In fact no action was taken. After leaving, sending a message to management about my experience , and awaiting a response I recieved none. After a week I reached out to the management via phone. Was told my message was received, he proceeded only to address the reason they don't have microwaves and inferred that the Canopy was designed more for "buisness" than leisure and essentially they were doing me a favor by heating up my food. A conversation that was essentially irrelevant to my experience as a whole. The valet was pushy and when I parked in front of the building in the "loading zone" to load my bags in the car (because the parking garage is a 4 minute walk from the only entrance ) i was coerced by the valets to give them my keys in case they needed to move my vehicle, while I was loading it. Approximately 2 weeks later I reach out for a resolution because I was yet to be contacted or reimbursed points, money or otherwise. I recieved an email from the "chief enthusiast" stating that she saw that i spoke to the "guest service supervisor " and that i was refunded points, neither of which was true and a feeble attempt to pacify the situation without any real solution. I'll never stay there again, nor recommend anyone else buisness or otherwise.

Excellent proximity to The Star, Conerica Bank Tower, Dr. Pepper, Toyota and many restaurants, Comerica Arena, Stonebriar Mall; within walking distance or Uber.

Day 1
This has to be by far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced. Day 1 I checked in on the app (very convenient) so when I arrived I went straight to my room. The heat didn’t work so the room was freezing (we’ve been having winter freeze warnings for 2 weeks so this wasn’t an ordinary “cold” room) we had to have maintenance come 3 times. This was within the first hour of my arrival. I finally went to the front desk to see what was going on. They told me there were no other balcony rooms available. After about 20 minutes somehow he had 2 balcony room options for me to choose from so we moved rooms.
Day 2
We left our room around 11am and returned by 230. When we returned the room smelled like a sewer. We didn’t have any food trash in our room so it wasn’t anything we did. I called the front desk 3 times and each time I got the same response “oh, no one has come up yet?” Finally they sent the maintenance person up (after my partner went downstairs twice!) and he emptied bleach into the toilet.
There is no microwave in the room or on the floor (note to staff: put one by the hydration station) we had to go down to the front desk (both elevators weren’t walking so we had to take the stairs) to have them heat up our food. It’s obviously not their fault that there were several people waiting to check in but we had to wait 10-15 minutes to give our meals to the front desk person to take to the back and heat up for us and then we had to carry them back upstairs. The food was cold again by the time we made it to our room.
I drove 2.5hrs to come here and celebrate my birthday and also relax. I didn’t just book a random hotel, I spent time comparing accommodations and reading reviews before making a decision and was so deeply disappointed in the experience I had from the moment I checked in.

Although the room is nice and the main staff was polite and accommodating the on site Valet & Parking Garage services are the real thieves! If you are traveling with more than one vehicle and you self park do not let the Valet see you! Even though you receive a ticket each time you enter the parking garage they will double charge the card that is on file with the hotel room. I recently stayed at this location and chose to self park and paid the ticket machine each time I left. I never utilized the Valet service! My garage tickets totaled about $77 for my entire stay. Upon check out they charged an additional $155 to the card that was on the room reservation! When it was brought to the hotel staff’s attention they said that it was “out of their hands” and that the Parking Garage isn’t regulated by Hilton but by its own private company! However, the Valet associates are stationed inside of the hotel corridors! This was truly just a money grab due to the fact that if you don’t Valet park then they don’t make any money. If that’s the case then the hotel should only offer Valet services and not offer self park! Also, there is no written policy anywhere on the hotels website, nor anywhere around the parking garage, or main hotel lobby that implies these additional fees for multiple cars under one hotel room reservation! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Was so excited to stay here. Paid for my room BEFORE arrival via 3rd party. Upon arrival I put my card on file to charge for items such as breakfast, etc instead the girl at the front desk charged me over $400 for the room. I realized it and she reversed the charge. Upon my departure I noticed my card number was manually entered for a total of $361. I called the front desk and they denied seeing any charge on my account. Now I am in a back and forth dispute with my bank. Will never stay here again. Ya’ll are crooks and liars

Thus far, this has been the worst experience that I've ever had in the hotel. Upon my arrival, I was immediately upsold on valet services that total almost $150 for the duration of my stay. I was told that it would be so much better and much more convenient than self parking because my stay was longer and I truly needed to use valet at this property because self parking was not convenient considering I have my son traveling with me. Tonight after requesting my vehicle, I was made to wait downstairs in the lobby for 45 minutes just to be told that my key was taken by the last person and that it would be an additional 45 minutes to an hour before the key is returned the opposite of convenient and of a valet service. This is the worst start to my son's birthday trip And by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had at the Hilton. I was told that my best bet was to pay for an Uber and hopefully someone would reimburse me for it at a later date. By far the worst un-Hilton like experience ever. The front desk staff informed me that it was a third-party that runs the valet service and is nothing that she can do about it and nonchalantly shrugged it off and says she can't be of any help. Call an Uber. This has been the worst experience ever.
