The most helpful DPS/DMV I've ever been too. Only 4 ladies working but every one of them was absolutely helpful. From the lady that helps you at check in, to the ladies that help you with your request. It was a pleasant experience. I recommend before you go to any DPS to look up what items you will need for whatever you are going in for, it speeds up your process.

This office was very fast. It's great to go to the DMV and not be stuck there for 5 hours. Jennifer assisted me with converting my license. She was extremely helpful and pleasant!

The people in the Gainesville TX DPS office are rude, unhelpful and the worst location to ever go to. Highly recommend finding another location, if u have any questions or concerns about anything they are no help!

Was told by a manager of DMV an expired passport is a document, and it does not state how expired it should be only that it was issued. My grandson is an American citizen born on an American base in Seoul, and we need a certified birth certificate as his has been lost and can't get another without an ID. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Helpful staff. Be sure to make an appointment online. It will save you a lot of time and hassle. While there I witnessed two young drivers trying to get licenses. Neither one had their certificate/proof of attendance. Make sure you have your proof from the school district before you go.

Find a better place to go. Wasted my time. I went there to do my written drivers test. Appointment was at 430. Clocked in at 410. Didn't get seen until 510. When I was called up, the lady was a complete B. Apparently I didn't have everything I needed so she told me to call my husband to get more documentation. He came in and asked what's the email so they can print it out. She said, "oh, it's after 5. You're gonna have to reschedule." YOU COULDNT TELL ME THAT BEFORE YOU CALLED ME UP?! Why tell me to call my husband to ask him?! They blamed everything on being overbooked. I scheduled my appointment months in advance and now I have to wait longer because they refused to help me (the last person there). Also, they let people skip in line when they come through the door without checking in.

Came to change my name after getting married and had to wait 30 min after my appointment time but they were busy and moving and grooving. A few plants would go a LONG way in here.

I’m blown away by all the good reviews for this place. No matter how many times I’ve had to go there and how prepared I am they are always snarky, slow and flat out rude. You can clearly watch the favoritism and treatment of people they know because they are super helpful and let them skip the line. They refuse to answer the phone, they talk amongst themselves with tons of people waiting instead of working and they act like they are inconvenienced by you being there. Since our money pays their salaries there should be somewhere we can voice our concerns or vote to get them out of there and replaced with competent workers.

It's the DMV. You'll have to wait a bit. Book your appointment online and check in 30 minutes before your appointed time. Five stars for the people who work there. Zero stars for their network going down yesterday. Five stars for getting me in first thing the next day.

Super long waits, even for appointments. Arrived and checked in for my 4pm appointment at 3:30; was finally seen at 5:05. Ms. Martha was amazing, and all of the staff seemed to be doing their best to expedite things - they are just understaffed.Notes: the “now serving” digital board isn’t always updated, and the numbers are called a little out of order depending on which queue you’re in. Also, the waiting area was very crowded, and there aren’t any public restrooms.

I visited DPS for my state ID. I had taken an appointment and the whole process was very smooth. There was hardly any waiting, I finished my work in 15 mins. Just carry all the necessary documents that is mentioned in the website. The staff is friendly.

One of the worst experiences in there not only the tone of the Personell and the attitude entitlement ontop of that. . So apparently you cant get a texas drivers liscense until you get you out of state vehicle inspection. I truly believe that the texas dmv will hire the worst people in the state to work for them.
