“Frankie Liquor Store on The Strand — 5 stars, without question.
Our spiritual journey brought us to Galveston this week — the one-year anniversary of losing our son, AJ — and it also happened to be Mardi Gras week leading into Fat Tuesday. Celebration and remembrance intertwined.
During the festivities, Frankie’s was everything we needed. Whether it was grabbing a soda for our daughter, asking for directions, or stepping in from the crowds, the kindness shown to our family never wavered.
The name alone stopped me. My grandfather was Francis. We also have an angel baby named Frankie. And here we were, in a place called Frankie’s, during a week that already felt spiritually charged.
Then we met the manager.
Her name is Dee — like my mom’s aunt, my great-aunt Dee. And in her energy, I felt both sides of my family — the grounded and the spirited. It’s hard to explain, but it didn’t feel random.
Between Francis, Frankie, Dee… and the timing of this trip, I genuinely felt like all my people were with me.
We found ourselves there multiple times throughout Mardi Gras week, and every single time the hospitality was warm, helpful, and genuine.
I truly felt like I found a kindred spirit… and the spirit store.

“Stopped by Hall’s Liquor recently and had a great experience. The store is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate, which makes it simple whether you know exactly what you’re looking for or just want to browse. The selection is solid with a good mix of everyday bottles and some harder to find options.
I was especially happy to see Weller on the shelves, which is something I can never seem to find back home in Chicago. That alone made the stop worth it.
Staff were friendly and helpful without being pushy, and checkout was quick. Overall, a really convenient spot with a strong selection and great service. Definitely glad to have a place like this in the area.”
“I've been going to this store for since I moved to Galveston. I have always been treated so kindly here. I don't personally drink but I do buy alcohol for my family. I would say they have a wide selection in my limited experience. In any event I totally recommend this store based off of the great customer service that's provided alone.”
“After arriving and getting settled I ventured outside of the main Seawall environment on a whim during a nighttime drive. I decided to check out this store to see their variety on bourbon. The variety was vast. I inquired about a specific brand to confirm if they carried and they did not. I took that as a chance to try a brand that I was curious about and was delighted. I ventured by again about 4 days later and they stocked two batch styles of the brand I usually enjoy. I did not expect that and it let me know that my question related was heard and answered with stock being added. Thanks for the experience ~ Josie”
“This place has a really good selection of beer and alcohol. I was really impressed with the rum selection. I've been to a bunch of liquor stores, but this store had the best rum selection, by far. The owners were extremely nice as well. Highly recommend.”
“If you blink, you might miss it! It's a small little place. "Mom & Pop" type. Convenience store, gas station, video-gaming station seats 4 and win prizes. Good prices on beer. They have cigarettes and vapes. Nice people working there. Gas is a lot cheaper there than the stations right down the street. Some gifts, souvenirs. Lotto. Soda fountain/coffee.”
“Fast and friendly easiest way would be co.e in from the roght side of the shopping center its a tight curve in an 18wheeler but can be done if you come in from the left side you wont make it in the dock period!! But everyone there was friendly as can be easy peasy”

“Very nice store and the manager is really nice. Came to Galveston for a small beach trip and didn’t get any drinks. Stopped by for something and the selection was amazing! No one will be left out at this store trying to find something. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for something to enjoy while enjoying the beach”
“A little pricey, but you're paying for the convenience.. it was only a 5 minute drive from my location. The cashier was very friendly, she recommended a couple of bottles. If you're in the area they do have a decent selection of liquor.”
