November 21, 2021 AWESOME EXPERIENCE with Captain Clement Jardin!! In honor of my 60th BD on the 23rd...we, "just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...a tale" of 3 gals on the bayou!!! (gilligan's island song reference) The three of us had the best time...Sunday FUNday! It was predicted to be a 40-80% chance of rain ...BUTT, not today Satan...the weather was perfect...hardly any clouds, 75 out and a decent wind...Capt Clement was patient, friendly and informative. I was the captain for about an hour...then I asked my friend to take over...she hesitantly did! We were on a 30 foot sailboat called, "the lift off!" It had plenty of space to sit. While on the water we met several other sailors/captains that Clement knew and we got to talk to from afloat. This outing cost $50 each and we were sailing in Offatt's bayou for 2 hours (maximum is 3 hours but, we all had to pee, so we lost an hour...old bitty's!!! LOL!) All in all, it was a FANTASTIC experience ...very zen. Get this...one friend aboard hadn't been on (any) kind of boat in 38 years (she had been involved in a near fatal boat crash at 14) and today, was the day she conquered that fear of water-crafts. We all learned a lot from Captain Jardin and about ourselves. " and if the wind is right you can find the joy of innocence again" (christopher cross 1979) For information about this sail...you can reach Captain at this email

5 stars is not enough. I have always past by here and never knew what it was. Came with a great group of people (Galveston Houston Families Exploring Down Syndrome) so excited to finally come in and see what this place is about. It is a non profit and The facility is beautiful, clean, staff and volunteers are awesome. We had a wonderful experience fishing, swimming, kayaking, due to wind conditions we could not sail so hopefully next time we can go sailing.

I cannot say enough great things about this wonderful sailing program. Our sailing instructors Clement and Simon are providing excellent sailing/racing instruction to the kids and they are very dedicated to this program and the kids they teach. They love the sport of sailing and are passing a wealth of knowledge on to their students. Thank you Clement and Simon...keep up the great work, your dedication is very much appreciated.

My wedding was at Sea Star Base and it was a great experience! The ceremony space is absolutely beautiful, and everyone we worked with was super accommodating. Angela and Maggie were great. The sail away at the end of the reception was particularly great, we had fun and our guests were entertained!

We LOVE CATERING at the SSBG! An exceptional, beautiful venue with unparalleled views and facilities. In fact, our daughter’s wedding, 300 guests, was held at the SSBG and we could not have been more pleased! Everything was perfect.

As a Disabled Veteran, I was so happy to be invited to Sea Star Base Galveston, for the CWCV Challenge for 7 days. We arrived just before Tropical storm Imelda. David Gaston and Michael Janota had it all figured out. We were on the water the evening after we arrived. All the Safety officers they put on each sailboat brought their own style and flair, and many years of sailing showed in their skills. Two lovely ladies, Judy and Jeannie worked around the clock ensuring they provided three meals a day. All home cooked with love.
