Seawolf Park, located on Galveston's Pelican Island, is a popular destination for families and history enthusiasts. The park features a fishing pier, picnic areas with tables and grills, and a playground, making it a great spot for family outings. Visitors can explore the naval museum, which includes guided tours of the WWII submarine USS Cavalla and the destroyer escort USS Stewart, providing a fascinating glimpse into naval history. Many reviews highlight the knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer guides, who enhance the experience with their insights. The park also offers ample fishing opportunities along the pier and rocks, with a small bait store available on-site. Parking is reasonably priced at $10 for the day, and admission to the museum is $14 for adults. While facilities are limited to port-a-potties, the overall welcoming atmosphere and historical significance make Seawolf Park a must-visit for anyone interested in naval history or looking for a fun day outdoors.
Fantastic place to honor those who have served, are serving and will serve! Climbing through the submarine was a lot of fun, but you must be able to climb through tight spaces. The annual Pearl Harbor ceremony is a great and honorable way to honor the greatest generation.
