I have four active loan accounts with August REI and have been trying to get assistance on an account issue and online access.
I called last week and was told I would receive a return call within 48 hours. That never happened. I received an email response, but I still cannot reach anyone by phone, which is unacceptable when dealing with live loan payments and account access.
I’m also being told I need a PIN to access my accounts online, yet no one has provided instructions on how to obtain it.
When a company is responsible for tracking principal and interest, communication is critical. Right now, follow-through is lacking.

We do not recommend this company as it is bordering on Theft, Embezzlement and Fraud. They will not answer or return phone calls. Apparently they want all correspondence through email which is often not answered in a timely fashion or vague in the answers. This company has taken loan payments then lied and said they did not receive the payments, then when shown the bank drafts they said they would pay 4 months overdue payment in another months time, but not with fees or interest. This company was like clockwork for a couple of years then apparently someone quit and now nobody seems to know anything and you can't talk to anyone who knows anything. Worst customer service we have ever encountered and it is a company dealing with large sums of people's money. We absolutely do not recommend this company. This is all happening now 2025.

Nobody ever answers the phone very difficult to reach horrible customer service i wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to this company do yourself a favor and avoid august rei at all cost !

Worth garbage there is. They only answer the phone when you are a new customer. When you are already set with them they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE, they will make you hold and then disconnects the call and that is over, and over, and over, day after day. Then they make all sorts of junk fees and take long time to process the payments and send it to the lender.
Don't waste your money and your time working with an understaffed company that doesn't perform and offers the worst customer service possible.

Where do I start... this business has no customer service... May 2 they drafted a payment from my account. May 8 drafted the same payment which my did not have funds... they called me to let me know what happen... they told me they reversed the charges.... ok so I received my statement and I was charged a fee for insufficient funds. My bank charged me insufficient funds when they try to draft the second payment too. Contacted them and have gotten nowhere to have these funds returned to me. I have emailed Hector (Give me a few days to figure this out, and I'll call you back ) After no call back, I called him with no answersand I've asked to talk to a supervisor which as of today has not happened. I was told the supervisor is reviewing my complaint/refund and they will reach out to me today. I have yet to receive a call and at 6 o'clock at night I doubt I'll get one. I went on LinkedIn and found a lot of employees. Maybe I will reach out to them. I believe their CFOCEO and COO are listed.

Poor communication. No physical office for you to sit and talk to someone. I am the lender on an account and I was talking to someone in the hallway. No privacy and not professional at all. I am glad I only have one account with them and did not move all 45 accounts here.
