I realize I am about to go a bit "Karen" but here we go!I shop late to help with my anxiety about grocery shopping in the first place. Additionally, I've got a bit (and by bit, I mean a lot) of OCD going on, which makes grocery shopping even harder. So I really did not appreciate heading to the self checkout tonight around 10p with my neatly organized shopping cart ready for me to bag in a very specific way, only to be stopped by some no-name tag employee saying they just started a new policy that I cannot go through self-checkout with more than 20 items. I looked around, not a customer in sight. I looked at all the self-checkout registers, none in use. I questioned this employee and, with no apology for the lack of signage warning me of this somewhat fictional sounding policy, told me to go to a manned register. So begrudgingly I went to the only cashier open, only to watch disaster unfold as deodorant got bagged with milk and 2 of my 6 macaroni & cheese boxes got stuck with my oranges while the rest were bagged with butter. Amongst the other reasons listed, I also prefer self-checkout to avoid paying an arm and a leg for groceries to just get damaged by someone who could give 2 $#!?@ about whether they think refrigerated goods should go with chips. To top the whole experience off, my husband and I were so kindly reminded that we are in fact a mixed couple when the cashier looked between the both of us in exclamation saying "oh I get it now, you are mixed because you are mexican and she's white". Why thank you kind worker, I almost forgot the color of our skin.I say all this to say that if this is a real policy, please put a sign up so those of us with a bit of OCD, know to only shop here for 1 or 2 items but definitely no more than 20.

I’ve tried reaching out to the store but can’t get a hold of anyone. I brought a chicken tender and Mac and cheese ready 2 heat meal and the chicken was raw. This was not a “ready to cook” meal so the instructions says to heat in the microwave for about 4-5 minutes and that’s exactly what I did. My daughter ended up throwing up after consuming.

Tom Thumb has really declined. I have shopped Tom Thumb stores since the early 1980s. They were a bit more expensive than other stores, but it was worth it because their service was fabulous. NOW, they are just more expensive. I went into the Tom Thumb at Northwest HIghway and Centerville in Garland, TX on January 10. I purchased two different deli cheeses. There was a display of coupons on top of the deli counter. The coupons offered $1 off a pound of Dietz & Watson meat or cheese. I took a coupon and went to the checkout. The coupon was declined. An employee came to the self-checkout and informed me that she did not know when/how I obtained the coupon, but that it was expired. I told her that I had just taken the coupon from the display on the top of the deli counter IN THEIR STORE. She took the coupon from me and walked over to the deli. After a couple of minutes, she came back and again insisted that the coupon was expired. I pointed to the display and asked why it was not removed. She said "we don't have anything to do with that, the guy comes and puts those out." In other words, "don't know, don't care and stop bothering me." I will never step foot in another Tom Thumb. It appears that they may be closing/selling off some of their stores. I believe (and hope) that HEB will put Tom Thumb out of business fairly quickly.

Several staff members helped me find a difficult item. They wound up going to their shipping freight truck located behind the building. They found my item in the truck amongst the pallets of products.

Jay is Amazing in the meat department. He always goes over and above. He has a great personality and every time I see him he is working hard. I came in today for some shrimp and it was his time to clock out but he stayed over to help me, and he did it was a great attitude. Thank you so much for giving excellent customer service.

I don't make a habit of shopping at Tom Thumb, and the reason why is every single time I do the price at the register never reflects the price on the shelves. There's always something and usually multiple items. Not just a few cents, but $5 to $20 difference on my total and I'm usually in a rush to and don't waste everyone's time arguing about it at the register. I just make it a rule not to bother using your stores. A few times a year I get dragged into one for whatever reason, and it happens again. Not just a random item in the wrong spot, items stocked in a spot with the wrong price.

The pharmacy has the worst service, I was calling, I called about 3 times, I waited 10 minutes for each call and the person who answered didn't even say good morning, he just put the call on hold over and over again but he didn't listen to me nor did he show up at all and finally The call was short, I was never able to communicate, how bad it is that working in a pharmacy they don't have the slightest education or customer service, and that I called at 9:30am, what a shame they have such bad service.

This is a nice and quiet place to shop. The store has always been clean when I visit and the staff have been helpful. The prices can be a little higher but the selection can't be beat.

The baker burnt every batch of thumbprint cookies they made and still had the nerve to sit them all on display‼️ Apricot, pina colada, raspberry and strawberry. Every batch was the color of chocolate chip cookies. The sour dough loafs were burnt as well. Then she said they won't have more til that's sold. Totally unacceptable. U burnt it u should buy all of that. Hire an experienced baker asap
