Look at what they did to all their guests who booked for the 2024 eclipse. Textbook greed and unethical, possibly illegal behavior.

We had five rooms booked for me and my employees for a work trip. I called twice to let them know that we'd be checking in late (once just after booking, and then again on the afternoon of our check in). When we arrived we learned that they had given our rooms away! They said they knew they were supposed to be holding them, but there had been some sort of mix up. Unbelievable. 8 tired travelers coming in from Houston and having to scramble to find another place to stay in the middle of the night. Just awful.

If you are staying in Gatesville, I'd recommend staying at Ramada than the Holiday Inn across Walmart. I've been to both and Ramada is more quiet. I think it's because of the location. It's a little secluded compared to Holiday Inn which is just right there off the highway. The front desk lady was really nice too and greeted me with a warm welcome when I checkedin January 15, 2019. I think her name is Shannon or Sharon who offered me fresh cookies. Also when I checked out in January 17, 2019 at 1100, the guy at the front desk was really busy but he didn't hesitate to acknowledge me and my presence. I will definitely book a room again next time. This hotel feels more like a home to me.

Hotel cancelled all reservations I and everyone made during the April 8th, 2024 eclipse way in advance at their normal booking rate (hotel is in the eclipse path). Hotel gave the excuse of 'sprinkler upgrades' and cancelled all reservations during this time for the month. This sounded extremely convenient at the time and I expected this was an excuse to jack up the rates several fold later. Just as predicted, the 'sprinkler upgrades' turned out to not be so necessary and the hotel now has that month and those eclipse days available for 7x the price everyone booked and is now booking at $650 a night.

This is a nice hotel. Rooms are nice, quiet, comfortable but the person who checked us in was apparently having a bad day. Kind of rude to us. If your lucky, they will have breakfast taquitos (so delicious with a nice kick). They are amazing. The breakfast is good and the lady who runs it is awesome.

I wish I can give Zero stars came out a little more than 20 min before 11 later on the day I received a notification that they took $35 I called to see why and the lady on the front said because we left a towel with fecal matter that is just wrong we were 3 adults and a 1 yr as adults we know better and my 1 yr has diapers and wipes Im calling back trying to some sort of evidence and she just picks up the phone and hangs up. Don’t waste your time and Money in here.

The hotel was close to where I needed to be ... but the room was very musty. I complained both nights to the staff ... was offered a room deodorizer the first night and then "smell good spray" the second night. The staff tried to be helpful but the room was way below expectations.

I stayed here for months for work and the staff was extremely friendly and professional. The rooms were above my standard of expectations. Although the internet was a little spotty every now and then, it WELL exceeds the quality of nearby hotels.Rooms: Comfortable beds, EXTREMELY good water pressure, cleanSafety: In comparison to other areas around the town, the Comfort Inn was in a nice, quiet little corner of town.

Lewis was very rude . Asking personal questions about why I’m local but getting a room . Very hostile check in . He said he work here for 5 years but it’s no way because I been in Gatesville for 10 years and this is my go to hotel when my son wants to swim on a hot day. When I ask him directly why he was questioning my wife about checking in he said he would call the cops on me.. he like maybe 20 and it shows it’s his first job because he has no training on how to talk to people. And he says the mgr is ok with how he acts. So I told my wife Just to check out. And even at that point he was rude. So my question is the the mgr why do you allow this young kid to continue to disrespect your clients?

Very comfortable and niceThe only thing is the bathroom needs brighter lighting. Couldn't see real good putting on makeup. Otherwise, thumbs up.
