There’s a serious lack of tacos in this area so to have a consistent taco that’s tasty is super important. Been quick and friendly each time I’ve been. And it’s nice to have it in an HEB convenience store so can shop and are paying reasonable prices.

I ordered eight breakfast tacos and waited over 20 minutes due to no eggs. There were people who came in 10 to 15 minutes after me and received their food in less than five minutes. I was standing and watching them make the tacos and they had plenty of eggs. I will never come back to this place again.

Picked up my second order of 800 tacos for a large customer. For a fast taco they hit the spot. The service is fast and the atmosphere is a little busy in the mornings. But overall a good experience.

The tacos are good with great tortillas, ingredients, and salsa bar. But do yourself a favor and order them custom, because the premade ones hardly have any of the meat.

I have tried to give these tacos a chance many times but everytime I go to the Ronald rhegan location my tacos are cold. I give the tacos 2/10 definitively somewhere better to go for breakfast

I was at the true Texas tacos on Ronald Reagan, it was my first time to visit one. The first thing I noticed is that none of the employees in the kitchen are wearing hats. Sure, they have hair nets on, and that's great, but as someone that has worked in a kitchen thier entire life, it is disgusting to see people in a kitchen without some sort of head cover to absorb sweat. And quite frankly, it is against health standards. Your in a kitchen, standing above hot stoves and steam tables, your head is going to be dripping sweat all day. You NEED to have a cloth covering on n top of your head, or else your just letting sweat into the food. Having only hair nets is not good enough, and that's according to the national heath standards.

I hate to say anything negative about HEB. We are so happy they’re right here near our neighborhood and we do all of our grocery shopping there. We are big fans. The gas station went in and we couldn’t wait to enjoy that convenience as well, plus tacos? What’s not to like?Well…a lot. The first few trips I chalked up to them just getting their feet under them in a new endeavor. The ordering process is confusing and doesn’t really line up with the menus, and there is no explanation as to what is in their specialty tacos. The wait times are bad, with everyone crammed into the left entrance of the store. The staff isn’t very friendly behind the make stations, but they look overwhelmed. I’ve had them lose track of my order twice, resulting in me waiting around for far too long. I was a little put off by the price as they are more than most. Once you add the basics they are competing with Torchy’s. And they are not even remotely in that class. Honestly, I most looked forward to their brisket tacos. But they are downright bad. The brisket is like some greasy preprocessed kibble sprinkled into whatever else you have, and it doesn’t even resemble brisket. Mind you, I’m not a fan of their prepackaged, pre-marinated briskets inside, either. But it’s consistent across the board…the food just doesn’t taste right. I’ve tried a number of different options, and sometimes it’s just hard to choke them down. Even the salsa is bad, so I just use what I have at home, like Julio’s. I’m not sure how you screw up breakfast tacos in Texas but I’m sorry to say that HEB has figured it out. There are a few tolerable options…the beef fajita isn’t bad. My kid will eat the bean and cheese, although I don’t think that tastes right either. I still try the others as long as I get the ones that are premade, but honestly that’s just out of convenience. We do enjoy the convenience store itself and regularly make trips for snacks or drinks. Gas is disappointingly higher than other nearby HEB locations, but convenient and cheaper than other stations in the immediate area who have been taking advantage of the remote area for years. Their pumps are often out of order but that seems a matter of working out the kinks.I really want to see them succeed and get their act together. The space needs a little rethinking as does the process. The food…please do better. Also, you need online ordering. Again we love HEB and feel that community bond there as well as that Texas pride. I hope they figure this out.

I’ve given this place several chances in the hopes it gets better, but it seems to only have gotten worse. The service is good they have a fast production setup, but the food is bad. Honestly most taco places in nearby are not great, but this is a step below. The cheese is always cold and hard, nothing has flavor to it, tastes like they are using mission tortillas instead of the ones they make in house, the potatoes are also usually cold and have a terrible texture, it’s just a serious let down from H‑E‑B since they had a chance to corner the market in this area.

Breakfast tacos are nasty to be honest I was expecting more from H‑E‑B, I got the egg and brisket taco and the chorizo and egg, the tacos had little to no flavor the tortilla was hard . It’s a good idea but portly executed.

I enjoy these tacos. When I go I get my tacos in two min and they are hot and fresh!
