Simple guy doing business out of his house. Gave me a verbal quote on a handshake. Completed the job in a few days (it was a relatively small dent with paint) and then took $50 off. Great work. Can't tell the dent was even there and paint matched well. His price was several hundred dollars less than another shop and most shops wouldn't touch my car because of it's age and not using insurance. Highly recommend!Services: Painting

This process began late last year, but I had a hell of a time finding any shop that didn't want to repair an insurance claim vehicle with body and paint damage. So I put it off for several months. However, the painter's situation in Austin only got worse as inflation reared its ugly mug. After contacting a dozen painters, I found one shop that only wanted to fix the dents and do some spot painting for 8 to 10 grand and a second shop that estimated a minimum of 20 grand to do an entire paint job. There was no way I could afford or would tolerate those ridiculous quotes. One of the other 12 painters was a one-person shop named Wendall's Autobody and Paint in my town, who said, "he was busy but that I should call him back in a few weeks." Needless to say, I was frustrated, but one day, while traveling around town, I called Wendall and asked if I could bring the car by for him to look. My wife and I went by his ranch property with goats and chickens in the yard and an oversized work garage, and an hour later, I had hired a painter. We thought it would take him at least 2 months the paint the car, but he had it finished in 5 weeks. He gave me an unbelievable price, and I gave him a well-deserved bonus for exceeding my expectations. My wife and I also had a great time chatting with Wendall at his rustic shop, where he does incredible work. I highly recommend him as a standup painter and person.

Wendall is by far the most reasonable and honest person I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I've referred him to family and friends and they all have shared the experience. All of that AND he does terrific work!! Quick, reasonable and responsive.

Wow, I can hardly believe the report that came from the guy b4 me. My experiences with Wendell was exactly the opposite on three different occasions. I highly recommend Wendalls! We have had car repairs three times in the last 2 years. Always pleasantly surprised at the perfection in his work. Quality, affordable and speedy. Thank you Mr. Wendall!

I took my 2012 Honda cross tour to Wendalls for minor repair to a front bumper scrape. Unfortunately, picked my car up during a heavy rainstorm and was unable to even look at the repair. After driving out of his mud soaked driveway ( this is out in the country ) it also covered the front of the car until I was able to wash it this past weekend. Not only was the paint coming off he also neglected to fill two of the 4 inch long scrapes with bondo before he shot it with paint. I dropped by there today and asked him to take a look and the first words out of his mouth was " well I gave you a good deal the first time and should have charged you more" and then proceeded to tell me " I can't believe you're being so picky about this". To quote somebody a price, receive their money and do extremely poor work is one thing and then to double down and tell them they are picky if they expected decent work is entirely another matter. Stay completely away from this guy and take it to a professional shop. It will be done the first time and you'll have actually have a warranty. This guy does hack work and you'll have no warranty whatsoever. Lessons learned. It's unfortunate that this review will not allow me to publish a photo of his work
