I bank at several local banks here in Gilmer. Each one for a specific reason. I opened with ETPCU several years ago purely for the interest rates on auto loans. I have had three auto loans in my time of membership with this bank and for the most part I have been happy, up until this year. I guess there is a Red Robin system when it comes to the phone lines. I can never seem to get a hold of any one at my local branch. Speaking with a representative is like playing 20 questions. I get you need verification before giving out account information. But to give my entire social, my mothers maiden name, my mailing address, my physical address, my email, my phone number and my DL # to ask a basic question is absurd. What do they want next, my first born? I got married and needed to change my last name on the account, I brought my marriage certificate and ID. A rep updated my account but I got a call weeks later from the auditing department saying I needed to come back to the bank with my info again because they didn’t make copies of it. I also bought a house this year and was unable to link this banking account to our lender for review. Even getting paper statements for our lender was a hoop to jump through. I have been so disappointed with the member services when I need it most, I will be closing this account soon and merging to a different bank.

Called this business on October 11th to set up a time to start an account and find out about financing a new vehicle. Have yet to receive a call back. Not the way I would do business.

Make sellers and buyers jump thru hoped to make a loan for buyer happen and want seller to go out of their way with excessive emails and calls to them and no return calls. Unprofessional

Parade of issues. As a business client, I need my bank to operate reliably and efficiently. They cost me so much time having to call in see why they decided to decline charges to suppliers when there was no reason or purpose! Professional may be in the name but it is NOT a bank that makes you look professional or respects your time as a professional.

This bank sent my savings to the state unclaimed property! Yes, it was a small amount $105.00. I have lived at the same address and have the same phone number for 20+ years! I had to file paperwork to get my money! What bank doesn’t want your $105.00?

I am delighted that there is an East Texas Professional Credit Union in Gilmer. I am greeted by the friendly staff the moment I enter the building. I have never had to wait in the Lobby. The Lobby is clean and inviting. They have a small coffee station and of course, popcorn on Fridays. They are able to take care of most of my baking needs. The Drive-Up is efficient with handling banking needs.
