My elderly father was visiting from out of town and his car AC went out and came to Spikes for freon. My father asked for help with purchasing the correct one and help installing it. The freon alone was $50, for installation the total would have been $195. My father declined the installation. After getting home we tried to do the freon ourselves however it was the wrong kind or size? So my father went down to O'Reilly auto parts and they helped him purchase the right kind and installed it for him for a total of $48. It is very unfortunate when we try to support our local stores when the competition is so much easier to work with.

Our daughter was out of town when her truck was injured. Usually i would fix it myself, but would have had to drive 4 hours. Reasonable price to get her home. Thank you for saving me a trip! And to the review below me (Josh) do you have a lab that checked the oil viscosity to determine it was correct? š¤£

My husband and I have always loved Spikes and I hate judging them by their employees.. but sometimes you just have to say something.. My car is an Acura and all my dashes were going crazy nuts and I asked the front desk person at Spikes if they could check my battery because I thought that was the issue and he told me NO because he knew it wasn't my battery. I said can you please at least check and see and he said No because he knew it wasn't... WELL GUESS WHAT IT WAS MY BATTERY!! Sad that a woman that knows nothing about cars knows a little more than some at the front desk at a mechanic shop...

Do not use this mechanic shop! This is the most incompetent mechanic I have ever encountered in my life. Iāve taken my vehicle to them for two things and they were incompetent with handling both.
The first was a brake job. They only did half the brakes and didnāt tell me. When the brakes kept squeaking and I took it back, they told me they needed to do the other end of the vehicle. I have never heard of a mechanic diagnosing and only doing half of a brake job when all four brakes needed to be changed!
The most recent encounter was for a check engine light. They tried to suggest that the Kwik Kar put the wrong oil in the truck a week before and wanted to charge me to do a whole new oil change again on brand new oil. When I called Kwik Kar they confirmed that they did put the correct oil in the truck, which is also on the windshield sticker. Their response was well I guess thereās just nothing more to do. When I pushed back and said, āThatās not acceptable I brought the vehicle to a mechanic to diagnose and fix the problemā, the response was, āWell it might be the oil pump and thatās gonna cost $1500.ā I got charged $100 and cursed out. Donāt take your car to these people, go somewhere else with some competent mechanics. I will be taking my truck to my mechanic I trust in Granbury.

My wifeās Tahoe broke down in Glen Rose while visiting my daughter. This shop did a great job of getting it fixed and getting her on her way. It was a fairly simple repair and a shop with less integrity could have taken advantage of the situation. You guys saved us. Thank you.

Very unfriendly staff, another non-Christian establishment. If I wanted to be rudely accused of something, have my truck keys dropped on the counter in front of me and then walk out the door without a goodbye I wouldāve never gotten divorced! 1 star Lol

Car,was towed here. I said it was probably the alternator. They said it was the battery and replaced it. Picked car up. Two days later, engine died on 30, very dangerous situation. It WAS the alternator. Called and left message complaining, never heard back. Waste if time and money, and put me in dangerous situation. Will never go back.

Honest and his brother the mechanic is the best I've ever seen or known. Even when he has been busy has taken the time out to help me figure out simple things I couldn't. Love you guys. Bruce the guy at the front desk was really rude he acted Like he didnāt want be there or help you he had horrible customer service skills since my visit Iāve spoke with other people who had a similar experience with him we all agreed thatās probably his personality but itās just horrible. My vehicle was having issues so I dropped it off about 10 minutes later I get a phone call and theyāre telling me my car has no issues that they canāt work on if thereās nothing wrong with it and if itās not making any noise. so I stated I would be back to pick up my vehicle and not to do any work on it but when I got there they had already started doing work on my vehicle and theyāre trying to charge me for things that they claim they did but I didnāt authorize any repairs so I asked them for my money back And to take off anything that they added to my vehicle or did because I didnāt authorize it And I restated if nothings wrong with my vehicle then why are you doing all this other stuff and trying charging me specially after I told you not to do anything to my vehicle.long story short I got my money and left but it was a horrible experience. I only went to them because I live in Glen Rose and it was my day off but I shouldāve just stuck with the shop I use in Granbury.
