Juniper Point Public Use Area is a campground with both West and East sides. The West side offers a gorgeous, generously sized RV camping spot with a pristine concrete pad, picnic table, fire pit with a pivoting grill top, nice grassy areas, and partial shade. It provides great views of the lake and sunset, feels very private, and is a great spot for camping. However, it has limited access to the water, requiring navigation of huge boulders on a steep cliff-like area to reach the lake. It is not ideal for swimming, kayaking, or paddle boarding, and boats cannot be parked near the site. A nearby boat ramp and small beach area are blocked by lots of rocks. The East side campgrounds on the beach are beautiful and a great place for children to play, with good ramps for boats. The East ramp has lights, while the West ramp does not. Campsites are nice, well-maintained, and provide pretty scenery, with everyone having their own spot and picnic area. It is a dog-friendly place, though dogs must be tied up. Restroom cleanliness receives mixed reviews, described as both clean and well-maintained with showers, and at other times as disgusting or in need of cleaning and updating. The picnic areas can sometimes be left dirty with trash and food debris. The location is generally quiet at night, feels safe, and staff are friendly, though there may be no camp host present. A major concern is that highway construction hides the entrance, making it crazy dangerous to access.
