Do not use this company. They are a fraud and hold your items hostage if you don’t give them more than agreed from the contract. Horrible DO NOT USE them. They took our stuff because we didn’t Zelle him money to his personal account. We were going to pay with card to the company but he wanted us to have no tracking. They are a scam and a fraud.

I called to get a quote and all I received was a pre-recorded message about receiving a $100 voucher? No thank you. I just want to talk to a person.

Do NOT use- our move was a nightmare. We had items in Federal/Whalen's storage warehouse for a month during our move from IL to NC. 50% of our boxes arrived with rodent feces in them. Our couch and armchair were also covered in rodent feces. When we filed a claim, we were denied any reimbursement because our coverage \

On moving day, the day before our walk through with our soon to be old landlord our movers came but it was not "Federal Moving", the company that gave us a bid of $6,500 over the phone. It was a company that Federal Moving sold our move too and they wanted $14,000 and all we could do was pay. We tried calling Alex @ Federal Moving but he was unreachable, we were stuck. We got ahold of Federal Moving finally and Alex was very sorry and said he would fix this no matter what we would get some money back. It took about 48 days to get 95% of our mostly damaged things and when we called Alex back to tell him the extent of the damages he was appalled and promised to make it right! Well the was last year and we have never heard from them again.

On September 12th 2019, I had the pleasure of acquiring the services of Federal Moving and Storage. From the sales to the labor and finally delivery. I must say it was an A + CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE, above and beyond professionalism and most of all my items arrived to their destination in tact. I don't know much about the moving industry, but I was impressed with the level of intelligence the foreman Paris displayed in going through the paperwork explaining it all to me. While the guys worked I read some reviews on the company. Being in business myself I understand often more bad conversation not enough praise is placed around the internet. I'm taking a bit of time to share my GOOD experience in hopes someone will read this and choose to go with a great company.

A terrible experience. We contracted with Federal Moving Corp. to move household goods from DC to Albuquerque. They picked up the furniture one day late (not too bad). Delivery was over a month late - a month of camping out without furniture, clothes, and kitchen equipment. Our delivery window was August 1, 2019 to August 7, 2019. On August 8th, the furniture was still in a warehouse in either New York or Brooklyn (despite repeated requests, they never told us where our furniture was).

Took a great care of my staff. I was mostly worried about my 55-gal aquarium, but there was no scratch on it! Yay!

So far there are only 1 star or 5 star reviews for this moving company which is interesting in itself. Unfortunately, I fall on the 1 star side (and it's eerie how all the 1 star reviews are similar). I called Mitch to deliver my sleep number mattress and bike. Mitch quoted price and I decided to hire them. I asked about insurance several times via email and voice messages but he always dodged my question. This should have been warning sign number 1. We set up a time and place to pick up my items and two people came and picked up my items. I asked about insurance again and the mover insured me that my items would arrive undamaged and he's been doing this job for 7 years (new york area code, last four digits 2374, I would be weary about trusting them). They arrived, folded my mattress in half, wrapped it in cellophane and off it went into the truck. My issues are listed below. 1) My bike arrived with a bent wheel and there dirt scuff marks along the side of my mattress. The dirt scuff marks I can get over but the bent wheel is problem. And since the mattress was in a V shape for 45 days, it didn't quote fold back in a flat shape at first but eventually did. 2) Mitch indicated that the shipment would be around one week. A precise estimation is not available since it involves issues beyond his control which is completely fine. I expected around a week, maybe 2 weeks at worst if issues cropped up. Instead it took 45 days. 3) The person who delivered my items asked for an additional $150 to bring it into the apartment. Mitch and the person who picked up my items said there would be no charge for bringing the items up. He said he was a sub-contractor with Federal Movers and he's not beholden to the rules that Mitch stipulated. Luckily, my friend receiving the item only had $40 and that's what he took. 4) After a week passed from picking up my items, I called the company in New York that picked up my items (they have 1111 number as the last four digits, stay far away from them) said the items would go on the next truck Tuesday and then when it didn't make truck, they would say next Tuesday and this pattern repeated multiple times. And often times I would call, they would say call back in 10 minutes, I would call back and they would either immediately hang up on me or not pick up on the phone. I would then switch phones and they would pick up leading me to believe that they were screening out my calls. I've tried to call Mitch and I've sent him an email, no response via email and the line is always busy when I call (perhaps they went out of business? Screening out my calls?). Bottom line, stay away.

Great company, and professional workers. Our family moves every couple of years, so I have experienced working with more than 10 companies so far. I have to say, these guys are the best! The quality of packing is extremely high, the workers are friendly, loyal, and hardworking, making the moving process very easy. Finally, I found the moving company I will do my future movings with!

Federal Moving Corp moved us even better than I was expecting. I have only positive things to say about my family's experience with them. They were timely regarding every aspect of the move, making them very easy to work with.

This company is a complete nightmare. They lied for weeks about our delivery date, told us they had no idea where our belongings were, and then tried to get us to pay triple the original estimate to release our things. We ended up filing a federal complaint, and having to consult lawyers and threaten a lawsuit. I’ve heard from other families whose things vanished for months. Truly insane, not to mention illegal. To top it off, when they finally delivered they started giving us someone else’s boxes. Hire someone else—anyone else.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. They arrived 3+ months late, and SHATTERED my furniture. Horrible communication, horrible service, will be taking legal action.

Do yrself a favor and NEVER hire these lying idiots for a move. They were all friendly and helpful when I was calling around for quotes. Pickup went fine. And then...all my stuff disappeared. They blew past one delivery date, then another, then another, then told me my stuff hadn't been loaded yet even though a week before they'd told me it was in the truck being driven across the country. Then they said they had no idea where it was and no idea when it was going to show up. Then they promised it would show up the next week. Then the next. They put me on endless hold, told me I had to call their dispatcher to get more information--the guy didn't answer his phone ONCE and I called more than 20 times. They lie constantly to get you off their backs--AND to hide their bad reviews. If you look up the guys who work for them, they all seem to be employed by a company called Traditional Van Lines Moving. Guess they were losing business with their bad reviews so they changed their name. What a bunch of scammers.

Don't trust them. I haven't received my stuff, and now I don't have any idea when they will ship it, and where is it. Worst company ever, and this problem is recurrent. For one month I am trying to contact them, nobody answered, nobody has any idea about my stuff. WHERE IS MY STUFF?

Federal Moving picked up our belongings more than a month ago. Despite more than a dozen phone calls and complaints, we have no idea where our things are or when they are arriving--or IF they will ever arrive. The company has lied and dodged multiple times, telling us our belongings would be delivered one week, then the next, then the next. Don't believe a word they say--avoid this company like the plague if you ever want to see your personal possessions again.
