This is NOT a corporate owned location (but a franchise), and they will overbook. If they don't have the car you reserved (I reserved a Suburban and they didn't have it) other locations will not exchange it. They overpromise and underdeliver.

Megan was a mess. Yall need to drug test her for meth..tweaking like crazy. Plus we asked her 2 times what we needed to rent left came back and she still denied. We travel constantly and have never been met with this situation.

Watch out for the charge on toll. They charge you 12.99 a day without notice. Call Avis to get a refund.

Avis is great!If possible rent from the DFW airport which is not far off and avoid grapevine location. Would expect cleaner car and responses that are not rude.

We are repeat customers with this Grapevine location until we had the unlikely encounter with the “owner”. Upon early return of our rental, the “owner” stated there was pet hair and that there would be a $75 cleaning fee for extra time to clean. I mentioned that yes there are a few white hairs from our cat, but at no time transported an animal in the vehicle. The “owner” then as a matter of fact stated there has been an animal in this car. Basically, implying my wife and I lied. She opened the back and again stated that there was hair in the hatch area I guess saying no one would ride back there except an animal. We told her we had home blankets and luggage that probably had a few hairs from home. It was only a couple of strands of which I picked out. However, she said the next renters could be allergic so they have to do a full on clean out which is just ridiculous since how can you know if a renter has a a pet or not. Ours just happens to be white haired. She continued to argue with us but said we could go get it cleaned ourselves. We chose not to since it was so close to the turn in time I am sure she would have charged us for an extra day. Everyone previously has been great at this location. I am afraid we must of caught this lady at a bad time since the moment I walked in the door she didn’t acknowledge me, was short on the phone with another customer and as I mentioned I tried to do the return with the app, she told me “ that is my job”. I explained I received a text to “tap here to return” to which she brushed me off and said that was for the airport location. Well how was I to know? The text was from Avis! For an “owner” she was not professional in her appearance (appeared to have just rolled out of bed)and lacking some serious decorum and professional level customer service. We are done with Avis. Oh when I asked if this was a franchise or a license arrangement, she ended up admitting she is the GM. Waste of time.

I would not recommend this location. Montana was flippant/rude with us and when asked to explain the higher insurance charges, he never gave us a straight answer. He didn't even offer us the insurance to begin with and when I asked to add it, he had to go back and redo all the paperwork. We were quoted $25.99 a day for the insurance where "I could walk away", and we were charged for two different insurances, at a higher rate. He stated that the two insurances brought down our daily rate. He was very flippant with us and said "I can charge you the higher rate if you want" -- yes, Montana, I want the higher rate! Nothing he was telling us made any sense and we never got the answers to our questions. How rude! I will go back to Enterprise Car Rentals in the future.

Horrible service. Waited 2 hrs. We reserved and paid for a car way in advance but when we arrived we were told they had no cars available for us. We had to wait 2 hrs for an available car. Never again will I be using the Grapevine location ??????

Worst Customer Service, Never have cars at the location, If you book something you will end up getting another type because they never have a vehicle which you reserve for, I guess booking in other rental companies make sense because at least they treat you better.

Meghan was impressively grumpy. She checked the car in and charged a $20 “fuel service fee” when the gas was completely full. Avis’s customer service line refunded it, but still a classic move by a budget rental company. Check your receipts, and try not to be in that depressing building for too long.

Update: WE HAVE NOW REFERRED THIS TO THE BBB and Filed a Formal Complaint. Has been almost a month with NO REFUND for the over charges. We will NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN! We received a car with 35,000 miles, with significant damage to the paint and small dents, smelled like smoke. Nobody helped us document the damage before we left their facility. Returned the car a day early. Again, no one there to help check us in or confirm drop off. We were told to just leave the keys in the car so that's what we did. Since then they keep telling us we didn't return the car. Our account is being over billed by a car we actually returned a day early!!! Multiple calls to resolve. From start to finish not a good experience.

The car had been smoked in before they rented it me. I complained and they did not care at all. I had to drive 6 hours with a terrible headache from the horrible smell, plus my clothes reeked of stall cigarettes by the time arrived. It was clear the car had been towed at some point. The passenger window wouldn’t roll down. The staff at the destination was no better. Customer satisfaction <1!!

This was the worst experience I had in renting a car. Very difficult to edit your information if something doesn’t match. I spent 2 hrs waiting for a car, even though I pre paid in advance and they were very rude at Grapevine Texas

This is hands down the best Avis in Dallas, maybe in America. Katie and her entire team are awesome! They have great customer service and they are very accommodating!If something is wrong, they will investigate it and try to fix it. I’ve been renting with them for a long time. Trust me!They have a variety of cars, all the way from cool Teslas to minivans (minivans are cool too).If you are going to rent in Dallas, you have to check them out!

If I can offer one piece of advice- NEVER come here. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The employees are so dismissive and rude, I canceled my car and walked out before I would ever rent from them. When offered either a Tesla or a Mazda rental, I asked for the Mazda and was immediately berated by the employee for not "keeping up with the times". She said and I quote "honey you're gonna have to learn to be a Jetson one day". This same employee then went on to yell at another customer who was requesting a car seat (Avis only had one available for him despite him specifying he needed two). Rather than being helpful this employee chastised him and yelled out that she wouldn't continue helping before she knew the exact weight of his children (and then laughed when he gave their weights!) This experience truly felt like something out of a fever dream- this employee is seriously disturbed if this is the way she treats their customers at the very start of the day! DO NOT COME HERE!
