I have been renting cars for over 15 years. This location was the WORST car rental experience I've ever had. They didn't have my reserved car ready and told me the only option I had was to wait until one arrives (no time table). The owner (Katie - Independent Avis/Budget operator - under 6 Star Rental, LLC) was rude and was not flexible in getting me in another vehicle without charge (wanted to up-charge me the difference in getting another vehicle) so that I could get to my appointment on time. Had to call Budget main office, they suggested that I go ahead and pay the upcharge and they promised to work it out after the rental - which they did.HERE'S THE KICKER - The upcharged vehicle, I found out after looking up the VIN# when I got home, WAS A 2018!!! Yes, I paid an up-charge for a 5y/o vehicle with nicks. I knew something was up when they didn't display the year of the vehicle on the keychain tag - that's what prompted me to look it up. Lastly when I returned it, I asked the cashier what's the oldest model year vehicles they rent - she said 2020 - I then told her that the vehicle was a 2018 and she even looked shocked to hear that....I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS....This location gives Budget a bad name.]If you're in the DFW are needing to rent a vehicle, STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION...Customer service = 0Car choices = 1Car availability = 1Updated Cars = 2Wish I had looked at the reviews of this location BEFORE choosing it.Hope this helps the next person.

I prepaid to pick up a car in Dallas. When I got to the rental center at 3 pm, my pick up time, there were only 2 employees working the general line. After waiting about 40 minutes, the line didn't move, and the customer that just got her car walked by me and said it took 4 hours! I cancelled my prepaid car and since it was after 3 pm, no refund! I have spoken to customer service and they said they requested a refund for me. I hope to see it, but this was a real hassle. I will never prepay and Never use Budget, Payless, and Avis, if this is how they manage their business.

Rented a Car and denied for the insurance .And the Lady asked to sign the documents regarding the Insurance and after the returning the Car She charged me for the Auto Insurance .I called my Crefut Card Comoany and disputed the amount overcharged and it was credited back to my account Budget accepted the dispute .The charge was back to my account on 5/23/2023 After that yesterday I Received a letter from a debt collector ..3 weeks after the disputed amount and accepted by Budget Car Rental I received a letter from a Debt collector That the disputed amount must be paid ..I guess that’s the way seniors are treated at this place .Also the handicapped parking was blocked by the gate and She Didn’t care

Katie has helped us on a few occasions here at the Grapevine location and is always SO helpful and nice. She is extremely knowledgeable and competent which is refreshing nowadays. Hats off to Katie and her team on always making renting cars from here an easy and streamlined experience.

I hate to give 1 star because the effort given was equal to zero, but after reading some of these reviews, my situation may have been good fortune! Made a RESERVATION for a car rental to be picked up on 11/11/22 @ 10:30am at this location on E. Dallas Rd Grapevine. I received a couple email reminders - "RESERVATION REMINDER", "Pick Up your car @ 10:30", "YOUR CAR IS WAITING FOR YOU" and so on. I show up at 10:30 to get the car. The not so friendly lady behind the counter immediately tells me there are no cars available and she doesn't know when she will get returns...maybe by noon, she says. I tell her I have a medical emergency and have to get to Austin, which is why I made a reservation for a car. She says they aren't really "reservations" or a guarantee that you'll have a car to rent. Basically, your reservation is a suggestion that you might get lucky and rent a car at some unknown time. I asked her if there were other cars available. First, she told me there was an SUV, but it would cost more. I said, can I take the SUV then at a discounted rate? No. She then changed the SUV story to other people being in line to get it before me (I was the only person in the store, so maybe they were in line virtually?) and then later, the story became that I'd need a major credit card for the SUV anyway, no debit cards. I was obviously upset with no options, no customer service, and no effort being made on my behalf. I said the emails all say "RESERVATION"...her response was it must say somewhere in the contract that it isn't really a reservation, but she was unable to point me to that section of the agreement. I asked to speak with someone above her, but she's the top dog at that location...lucky me. If a reservation cannot be met, some effort should be made to contact the customer and let them know. None of this happened. In fact, the opposite did with the multiple emails telling me to come get my car. As I was looking at my rental info on my phone, I told her I'd have to cancel the reservation if she couldn't even give me a time when a car might be available. I then looked up from my phone and asked how I would even know when a car came in and she said, "Well, I just canceled your reservation. You said you wanted to cancel." So basically, if you actually need a car at a set time/date, I would recommend going to any other rental place but this one. The owner/manager couldn't have cared any less, couldn't have made any less effort, and doesn't seem to need your business anyway. She was super happy to cancel it for me.

EDIT UPDATE:Received bill back, quoted COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RATES ONLINE. Charged us $830 MORE for an extra day we never had the truck for- terrible service and lies about prices & insurance.DO NOT USE.Original review:Wonderful, wonderful people at this Budget/Avis- so delighted that we were able to get this rental in time and they were super helpful and stayed late to make sure we were able to get it.

Let me first say that this location is in GRAPEVINE, TX and is not the DFW airport location. Living here locally I do not choose to pickup rentals at DFW airport, is a major hassle. However, this Budget rental place gave great service all around and was easy to get to. Most importantly because we had an emergency, they were the only place out of half a dozen others I tried that gave me a car within 2 hours of booking. They got me in and out on pick up and return very quickly too. They were friendly and even have pleasing aesthetic foliage to admire at the counter. Somehow I even ended up with an upgraded vehicle for an awesome price. Could be that was the current inventory aside from what I booked online, but I wasn't complaining. Very good place to go and I will call them first next time I am in need of a rental.

Terrible experience/customer service. Instead of this place, would recommend going to the Enterprise down the street on South Main that doesn’t pop up on Google maps.

I showed up an hour early to pick up my reserved cargo van. I had to wait that whole hour because they were still cleaning and prepping the van for me, so I wound up getting it at the time I had reserved it for and still I was thanked for my patience! Montana was very kind and helpful for me and was thorough in his explanations. Even had a lot of lively green plants around the office. I would rent from here again.

I recommend this place to everyone! The customer service is excellent! The vehicle that I got was in great condition my daughter loved it! From 3 days we kept it for a week! Family owned business, owner is heaven sent for helping me get my vehicle!
