Anytime I go here, it honestly is like a money grab. I had my youngest’s birthday party here in March of this year. I booked with the expectation of her having a birthday party package, upon the week of her actual birthday, a manager informed me that I would have to pay for each individual item as though we had just walked in with no reservation or party. I asked what the point was of reserving a birthday party then, they said so they would be properly staffed. I begrudgingly agreed because the invites had already been sent out and we were a week away. I spent over $3,000 on about fifteen kids for my two year old’s birthday and all we got as an addition for her birthday? A sticker. Wow. But anything to make our kids happy, right?
Fast forward to yesterday. One of my daughters has been collecting every Bluey character as it comes out, so we’ve been coming in during the Bluey drops. They haven’t released every character at once, again smart business move because it motivates families to come in multiple times. That’s fine, again, I’ll do anything to make my kids happy. One person on the stuffer, like always. Always understaffed, but my sweet children waited patiently with their “Pawsports” wanting to get them stamped and name their new furry friend after dressing them. Tell me why once we get their friends dressed and make our way to the naming station, with a sign hanging from the roof that still says “NAME ME”, they have now changed the protocols to not print any names on any certificates. Ok, fine. I understand times are changing and protocols change. I asked the receptionist to borrow the sharpie I saw in her apron. She refused to let me borrow her sharpie citing “company policy” that the name could not be written on the certificate in the store. The name in question for my four year old’s bear? Cloudy Princess. I did some research online. Apparently there has been controversy in upstate about inappropriate names being printed on certificates. Could you explain how Cloudy Princess is inappropriate and how you deemed that offensive to write on a piece of paper at checkout by MYSELF nonetheless? There was absolutely none waiting in line behind us either, so it’s not like we were “taking up too much of their valuable time” as they have previously cited. I’m not sure if it’s BAB as a whole that is going downhill or just this particular location. This is honestly the first hugely negative experience I have run into where a team member was actively rude to my children.

Came here for my son's 1st birthday and I'm glad we did. We were able to pay $1 for his bear (not including extras), and he absolutely loves it. After all these years, it's good to see this place still has great service, providing a tangible representation of love and attention to detail.

My boyfriend and I visited (10/25/25) and we got to meet Shannon! She was not only funny, but very kind and playful with us! We are both 27, and being two adults with no kids in the store.. she knew how to make us feel like 7 year olds again. We had such a good time today and got a very cute ragdoll cat named Rea! We will be back for the experience again soon!

Had the worst experience with Tony in this store. He was incredibly rude to my family and I not once but twice. He needs some customer training or to not work in a child environment.

The folks at Build a Bear were nothing short of top tier today. I brought in my 25 year old Bearamy and was greeted warmly by all of the staff complimenting me on his condition and his outfit. I asked if they could help me put a scent inside, and how I was very anxious opening up my very old Bear. There was a lot of fear and feelings opening up a friend I’ve had for so long and they were so kind and caring about what could come off as very minor, but wasn’t to me. They opened him up so thoughtfully and helped me give him some more stuffing, then stitched him back perfectly.
If any of you three end up reading this, and I hope you do, I wanted to say thank you. I got home and admittedly got emotional because of how kind and inclusive you were. While this could seem like a silly thing to have feelings about, you treated me with such kindness that it really made my day. Loving your bear doesn’t lessen as you get older.
I will be back over and over!

It’s a very good concept. One can select own skin for stuffed toy, it’s clothes, accessories, sound, name and get it stuffed. Not only kids, but also elderly will love it.
The place is accessible to wheelchair and also kids friendly. Large parking available in free parking lots.

I took my boys to the grapevine mills location and it was their first time coming to BAB. They both got the birthday bear for their birthdays this month. The girl that helped them stuff their bear and put the heart in the bear was soo sweet and gentle and kind! She made their experience sooo much more special!! I didnt get her name but she was Mexican and had glasses. I appreciate her so much for making their experience so special!! I wish I had gotten her name but if you see this review THANK YOU SO MUCH sweet girl for your kindness and gentleness you showed my 3yr & 8yr old!!

On Sunday June 8th, 2024, my friend and I visited Build A Bear Workshop at Grapevine Mills Mall with our service dogs. We accidentally spilled our drink at the entrance and an amazing employee named June helped us cleaned it up. After we cleaned up our drink, we went inside to get our bear. We picked out a Monkey and we wanted to get a pretty popular TikTok audio inside our bear. The audio consists of a few girls saying, “Baddie, Baddie, Shot O Clock!” which we thought would be fine. When we went to do the voice recording an employee named Alla helped us, I had the video on my phone and she put it up to the screen and played it, I guess it was too quiet, so she then played it again on max volume. Midway through the video she turns to us and shouts “THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, YOU GUYS CAN JUST LEAVE” startling us and our service dogs, and causing everyone in the store to turn around and look at us. We exited the store but this interaction sent my friend into a panic attack and her service dog had to task. This could be very dangerous. This could have been handled so differently, she could have politely said to us that what we wanted was inappropriate and asked us to pick something else instead of yelling at us. My friend’s mother called the store and Alla lied to her and said to her that we were putting something else extremely inappropriate in the bear. I am very disappointed that your employees like to pick on disabled teenagers.
Photos attached are a picture of your rude employee and our service dogs.
:( hire more employees likes June.

Not so many choices or teddy collection, accessories are so pricey, associate are not so professional, even at the checkout they cutted tags from accessories, teddy we brought prior to leaving the store, don't know why they does such cheap tricks. Then they have also offered me buy a gift card on discounted price, which they would have discounted on my current transaction instead. This store seems encashing people's emotions, cheap marketing.
