They took a rush order and replaced my heels, plus shined them up beautifully.

BE AWARE - Let me preface this, I am fully aware that a same day turnaround shoe repair can be inconvenient. I called at 9am and asked if a pair of heel taps could be replaced same day, a very nice woman answered and said "yes, but we need them early " I said thank you I'll come now. I arrived by 10 am, and upon entering, the lady looked me up and down ( I was casually dressed in a haste to arrive). I explained to the lady at the counter ( dressed in a black undergarment, slip in plastic white boots) I needed a heel tap repair she said they would be ready on the 27th, i said "oh I called earlier and they said if I brought them now, I could get them by 3pm" her entire demeanor changed and she said "oh ok but there's an additional $5 rush fee" ( note- I did see a sign that said there was a 3 week wait period so I was great full for them taking me and I didn't mind the $5 fee) she begins ringing it up, I pull out a $50 and she stops and says " oh no wait my boss just recently said not $5, a 50% fee" with a smirk (mind you at this time another lady who worked there was standing off to the side with a puzzled look at the lady. I pay (as I did need the service) and at that time, I thought my only issue would be the issue with the bait and switch. For whatever reason she at the last minute switched the price but I lacked the time to quarrel over an additional $5. I confirmed what time they would be ready and snarkily she replied "you said 3 didn't you. If they are ready earlier I have your number " what caused the attitude or price change I am unaware. I returned promptly at 3pm ( at this time dressed business casual with designers on THINKING, she was acting that way due to my dress down appearance) a few other people were in the store, there was also another man behind the counter assisting her. She assisted one or two people before servicing me, asked if they needed a bag, put their items in a bag as they left. Now the other people were being assisted by the man and someone else of the same ethnicity as me walked in asking for help and the man behind the counter repeatedly ignored, but eventually just snatched the ticket to give him his item. Upon me receiving my item, the shoes were just pushed to the edge. No back was offered and when I asked her for a bag, she said, "oh okay, I guess yeah" While there's a plethora of reasons that I could have been treated that way,(from reading the comments it seems that this is a common practice), i will not patronage this establishment ever again. Yes the work was fine, but the treatment was abysmal. I will definitely seek out other shoe repair establishments in the future.

Messina Shoe & Boot is not the same as a year or more ago. The customer service has gone down. As I've done in the past, I stopped by Messina's to have a belt shorten while I wait although today I was told it would be ready November 21st! I over heard the staff laughing at the Fox New broadcast in the back. So I said no thank you and looked for a leather shop with better customer service. If you need leather work, I found a shop with great CS and the owner is still humble: The Leather Hospital. The owner removed 3.5 inch off my belt, cleaned it and re-dyed the end in 10 minutes. I gave him $10 after he did not want to charge me. Truly a great experience and would highly recommend.

I brought my Louboutin purse here based off of a recommendation.
The strap had ripped.
I dropped it off 8/31, paid up front.
I was told they would repair it with leather. I was assured it would look good.
I was told it would be ready 9/25.
Okay that’s fine, I want quality work so I can wait.
I was so excited to go pick it up today.
It’s literally glued together and then painted.
When I questioned the repair with the young lady at the front, she said it looks like the granddaughters ticket and she doesn’t know.
She did take it in back to go question if it was possible to properly fix it. She came back to the front and told me, “they can, but it will look even worse.”
So now I’ve paid for an ugly “repair” and there’s nothing to be done to actually repair it. I ended up just taking my purse and leaving. I’m extremely disappointed.

Sadly I report my experience at Messina’s today. I have been a customer for decades, but no more. They obviously have replaced the tenured staff with people who are not interested in customer service. I asked for a a simple repair and was told they couldn’t get to it. I asked what that meant? The elder gentleman said they are backed up and obviously had not interest in repairing a simple strap. There was no be ready next week, or I can do it in a few days, just we are busy as he walked away. When did rudeness become acceptable in business. Unless you are seeking poor service with a side of attitude pass by Messina’s They are not the same old place anymore.

I paid a very reasonable price to have the heel tread replaced on my 10 year old boots. These boots were well worn and covered in blood from surgery in the OR when I dropped them off. Not only were the heel tread perfectly matched to the boots colors, the boot came back looking almost brand new. They also fixed my boots in under a week despite being very busy since I needed them for work. Very impressed.

The quite literally saved me from a broken ankle. I purchased boots over a year ago for my wedding and they've always tipped. Apparently the shank was broken. They fixed it all up, and even if it took awhile I do not mind!! Saved my wedding look and so grateful!

We had left a new pair of cowboy boots that needed work. One pair were greenish/blue other pair were tan and they did an absolute amazing job with my order. I unfortunately didn't communicate with them so there was a bit of confusion but that was completely on us and they really went above and beyond making sure we were satisfied. Highly recommended!!!!!!

My wife had left 2 new pair of cowboy boots that needed rubber soles added to avoid being slippery. One pair were teal other pair were brown . All supposedly was written on ticket on ticket. as she drove away from parking lot , she called shop, mature grey haired woman answered, my wife said, I don’t want any confusion, once again, I only need the left teal boot stretched. She said okay, will let them know. Showed up when ready, they stretched the right teal boot !!! I was upset because ther was no apology, Justin just said he could fix it….I didn’t know leather could be shrunken back.
After we calmed down, he offered to call me and personally deliver my boots when ready. Over week passed no phone call. My wife called, boots were ready she drove to shop. I was told Justin wasn’t in lady couldn’t speak for him. Same thing again, left boot tight , right was loose…lady was going to ask wife to return, again…
Wife asked if she was the owner, she said no, said he is, a thin grey haired man, who proceeded to tell me, in a rude tone, wife caused the confusion, he just did what was on the ticket, coincidentally lady said they no longer have the ticket….wife told her they ruined $400 boots !!! Owner yelled, if you want me to fix it , let me know so I can get started …. Wife asked for her money back and would never return…..she was returned $25 for stretching wrong boot.
Warning to all, when they make a mistake, there will be no accountability it will be customers fault…..

I get my shoes shined and have had a couple of soles replaced here. Great service, good prices, nice people. I’ll keep coming back.
06-27-24 Haven’t been back in years but today I came in to drop off some shoes and Becky was so nice to me. I had to edit this review just for her. She made my day!

I had a hiking shoe that lost one of the loops for the laces. They did a great job, it was ready when they said it would be and it was not expensive.

Messina’s has been keeping me “well healed” for decades. Always my “go to.”
