TOTAL RIP-OFF
If you get the Paw Pass for like $60, you'll have enough credits to play perhaps five games. The credits seem cheap, but the bait and switch is that the games cost something like 15 credits to play, so when you have 60 credits and feel like you're going to be there for hours of fun, you're not.
The guy at the counter is up-front about it, too. "Yeah, you'll only be able to play a couple of games with what you get with the Paw Pass. I recommend this deal to get more credits for another $30."
Instead of ten minutes of fun, you'll get half an hour.
The games themselves are just okay, but some are in a state of disrepair, and when I asked the guy why a ticket dispensing game didn't give us tickets he kind of shrugged "some of these games are pretty old, I don't know."
I get that he's just the guy at the counter, but he had no interest in making it right or making it fun.
The whole experience was awful.

Great wolf penny pinches you for every activity, (ex:$15 parking, $15-$30 lockers, kids activities to start their wand game it's $17, then to purchase a wand it's $20-$60, then you gotta buy a power character for another $17, $30 pizzas, $14 chicken sandwiches, $10 normal sized soft pretzels, etc..) so when we went to the arcade and saw the cost of credits it seemed cheap. That is until we went over to play. The games take 7-15 wolf paws(credits) to play. So you zoom right thru. Then my son was playing the wild west ticket game and won 1473 tickets. We already had 396 so at time to get our prizes it only read 500 tickets. When I had Chris, the tech, come make it right he basically called my son a liar. We told him to check the cameras, he walked away out of arcade returning 5 mins later. He wanted to check the game. My husband watched him swipe his control card the machine read error:8. Another customer came over and got the techs attention. He leaves then comes back again and says the game us fine, nothing wrong.then only gave my son 400 out of the 1400+ he was owed. Then when we further questioned it Chris called security cause we wouldn't let it go. I will never come back to this place. I may be only one person boycotting them, but at least I know I'm not the one being literally SCAMMED by Great wolf lodge.

It's a very fun costly place for the kids. We had a rude greeting upon check in. No soap for washing hands in the room. No way to call front desk for assistance. Beds are not true queens and old, sunken in creaky mattress. Otherwise we had a great time.

ok place to have a day trip but get in your car to eat. Food is mediocre and service is slow. Times quoted in app inaccurate. pizza and burgers no brainers and should understand hungry tired kids.

Staycation! Kids have been talking about this place for a while. I saw Groupon and jumped for it since it was a bit cheaper. Now that I'm seeing others got rooms for $112, I feel hopped. Anyway, you can start using the water park at 1p on the day you check in even if the rooms not ready. So come with bathing suit on. My Groupon order had failed, but Aaron who was helping us was very kind and we were able to get a room. Adjusted the price for us and it was $30 more than Groupon Meh what're you gonna do? Kids were so excited and I was so grateful we got a room! Room was ready and we were able to check in rt away! Check out is 11a, but you can stay in the water park as long as you want. -go to the gift store for wolf ears. It really does feel like a little Disney :) wristband is your door key and you can purchase things with it, so be careful! - food is so expensive here. I added 2 menus just so you can check the cost. My suggestion would be to drive less than 10mins in to town and grab food. Grapevine has so many different restaurants, pizza places and fast food places. Even a target nearby to grab pop tarts and what not for hungry kids :) -staff are really friendly and caring. -bring reusable water bottles to fill up water. -most like one and done place for us, but we did thoroughly enjoy it. My kids are 11,9,5 for reference!!

Our stay was amazing and what would've Made it 5 stars is a better more updated room. It seemed a little dated and for the price it should be pristine. I will say the staff was amazing with helping with our lost wolf pass and a stolen build a bear character!! That just takes it the extra mile and we will for sure be back! The water park was clean and had great options and unfortunately didn't get to checkout the outside pool and slides because of the time of year but look forward to it! Oh and all the fun activities for the kids are amazing! Coloring, trick or treating, dancing and more!

This place has everything! They care about every detail... We were checked in early and the room was a bargain deal half off October for fall season sale! The water park comes with it! Worth every penny! Bathrooms clean everywhere we went and the lifeguards take safety very seriously- I felt very safe with my kids being independent here and they have life jackets complimentary if needed. They have lockers and cabanas if you want it's extra we didn't feel the need for them - just picked a few chairs for our stuff - the towel system is great. The kiosks for food orders is efficient and probably saves them on labor cost and gets food out quicker. We came up for Houston fall break. The room has everything you need, fridge micro, pull out couch we were on first floor with patio which was nice the ceilings were like 15 feet felt big first floor rooms walk straight into water park and made loading the car up easier. The water is NOT freezing it is comfortable but they do have hot tub areas including an adults only one. The water slides are great all of us could participate sons are 7 and 11 - since we came on off season during the week the lines for slides were shorter or non existent - they have a ton of good options and fun other than the amazing and surprisingly clean water park. The lazy River was like bumper floats when it was a bit fuller but also pretty peaceful when less full. They have a top golf sports simulator row which we loved at a reasonable rate and food and bev service - all the employees were kind and helpful at this place too - over the top helpful - except I was super bummed the loose moose dinner buffet wasn't open the two night we were here but the all you can eat breakfast was well worth the cost and yummy! The character meets were cool and they have their own tv channel with the cartoon lore of the great wolf lodge. We didn't have time to gold mine or quest - but they do offer Those activities and a huge outdoor rope course - I didn't get those packages because I knew we would be pretty tired and only staying two nights but the bonus is that give you three full days of water park entry - they have food in and out of water park and we also enjoyed the arcade one evening which has a huge selection of games for all ages and my son Ethan had his bday this month so they gave him special birthday gift and treats plus they gave us ice cream scoop coupons for the inconvenience and confusion around the loose moose dinner being open or not... shout to Jonathan and cole for great service! arts and crafts and dance parties and shows in lobby were fun for the kids although we were all exhausted by that time after a full morning at the water park my son wants a nap it's been years since he wanted an afternoon nap he is a full energy kid - I lost my sandals and they have a sms guest service a real human helping you for your stay! They found them! That's wonderful. Super easy and the great wolf app was also a good resource for service yourself customer needs or query The 1000 gallon bucket is the largest bucket drop I've seen it's quite exciting! The toilet bowl slide i the first of it kind of seen or enjoyed it feels like something out of Willy wonka factory it is so fun! The tornado and what I call the toilet bowl were our favorite slides - the food was good at the lodge restaurant but a pricey... the cost o food has gone up so... they give you free wolf ears in the gift shop - they have a build a bear and a Starbucks! They even had truck or treating everyday which the boys loved and decorated for howl o ween! - but the room come with coffee and the lobby always has activities and sometimes fresh fruit water - the pizza place was good but the wait was a bit long so order early - they don't charge extra for room cleaning which I love - thy have plenty of adult beverages if you're into that.... It's a great stay and so much bang for your buck. Really fun for all ages. More than just a water park. Great staff!

Stellar experience. Water park was very well maintained and staffed, while staying at a nice warm temperature. Rooms were very near spotless, minus some stained I think applesauce on a top part of a mirror, it was spotless. Staff is absolutely amazing, we never had a bad experience and they do a great job with matching the kids energy, my high energy child absolutely had a great experience with EVERY staff member. Pizza place was great, sweet treats was amazing. Buckets has some tasty options. Buffet/character breakfast was very good, make sure to swing by omelette station. Magiquest is so much fun, but unless playing nonstop does take a few days to become a master magi. Be sure to plan in some of their scheduled programming for some EXTRA fun the clock show was the best part for my two. We can't wait to come back and haven't even left yet. Had a great 4 night stay which I think is needed for a wolf pass to actually get in magiquest time. Next time we will only be staying 2 days, as 4 is too many for our wolf pack of 5 and 1 yr old.

We brought our 4 and 2 year old for a 2 day stay. Pro Tip: bring your own food/drinks. Food is very very pricy here for how subpar it is. There is a larger mini fridge in the room to keep food fresh. Also bring your own toiletries. They provide 2in1 shampoo/conditioner and the smallest bar soap. Again for the price you'd think it would be a little bit nicer stuff.Rooms/Hotel: we got a kids cabin that has bunks. Our kids loved it. I will say though that this place looks old... I am glad we got it on a super deal for $112/night, but even that price seemed high for the look of everything.Parking: you can park a little farther in the lot for Free, have a little closer self parking for $23/day, or valet for $38/day. Save yourself some $$ and just park a little farther. You can drop all your stuff off at the front and then provide room carts. Check in: Took about 20 ish minutes and the staff was really friendly. Your bracelet is your room key and your money. Pup Pass: The pup pass does not include everything that is online. Apparently this is a glitch and Grapevine GW doesn't have it. The front was super nice though and gave us vouchers for top golf and the mining place. Arcade: avoid it like the plague... thankfully my kids don't really play games. But even for the games that were for their age it was at least $2.75/game. You also can't combine cards so you almost have to reload each time to play. For the prizes it's even more pricey. You'd be better off buying it at retail. I was kind of surprised by that considering the price of the rooms/food here.Craft time: the first "craft" we did was origami. I felt bad for the guy because he said they did an uninvolved craft since they are so understaffed. Pools: it's really nice they provide life jackets. We brought ours but used theirs. They will measure your child's height and give them a wrist band. Based on the color is what pool they can go to. The pool area is huge! Which is really nice. They provide towels that you have to check out and return through your wristband. Food: we did not purchase food here based off of the reviews and price. Bring your own cooler in and use the room fridge. For dinner we went out to eat. Overall it was such a fun trip!

Great Wolf Lodge is a great place for some family fun. We came here on a family staycation and it was truly a great time for the whole family. We stayed in kids cabin, which was very nice and spacious. We enjoyed the water park and the kids enjoyed all the fun water slides. We got an indoor cabana which made it comfortable to relax in, however it was very pricey. The service was wonderful and our cabana boy made sure we were well taken care of. We ordered Pizza from Hungry Wolf which was honestly just okay, and I also took the kids for some ice cream at Bear Paw which was enjoyed by all. Overall if you have the money to spend I do recommend this place, especially if you have kids.

There are a lot of great games to choose from and a really fun place for all of the family to be entertained. The system to get the game cards seemed to have some issues and very expensive respective to the number of tickets you can win and the cost of the prizes. A game would say you won 100 tickets but it only gave 98. Then when you scan the tickets in to the system it misses some as well. The arcade is great, but it seems if they just went with the ticket-less systems that most similar places have, it could actually save them a lot of money (from dispensing tickets and having readers) at the same time possibly getting more repeat business.

Why 3 stars? Because we preferred Kalahari. --- --- ---While I normally hate to compare businesses within reviews, I am going to go the opposite route here and make this an entire review a comparison of Great Wolf Lodge vs Kalahari. I assume there are plenty of other parents who are in the same boat that we were in before we visited both, so here's a comprehensive look at the two big indoor waterparks of Texas:WATERPARKHands down, Kalahari wins this one by leaps and bounds. Whether you have a little one or an older kid seeking thrills, Kalahari has countless more to-do. Our son was 4 years old and about 37" tall as of our visit to GWL. There were 2 slides and one small play area, 2 medium tier slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. That was literally it. Maybe for people who have only been to Great Wolf Lodge, that sounds like plenty to keep a kid happy. But because we visited Kalahari first, we knew better. At Kalahari, there was like 10 different small slides, probably 6-8 medium tier slides, plus 3 others outside. In fairness to GWL, we visited in late April, so the outdoor area was not open yet. When we went to Kalahari (the prior July), we were also able to enjoy the outdoor pools and slides. But, there were only 2 slides outside at GWL, and 4 at Kalahari. Kalahari certainly wins on all fronts when you're looking at just the amount of thrills.FOODWhile you certainly do not go to these places for the food, we were pleasantly surprised with the "on-campus" options at Kalahari. We patronized most of them during our stay and thought every meal was enjoyable. At GWL, nothing even looked appealing enough to try. The one advantage for GWL is that there were many great options just outside the grounds in Grapevine, where it was a lot less convenient to leave the property at Kalahari.HOTEL ROOMWhile we appreciate having the quasi room for our son to himself (bunk beds, themed out, etc), it left the wife and I to share what was advertised as a queen, but certainly felt more like a double. On top of that, the pillows were awful (short/fat), so we both could not wait to get home to our own bed, after only two days here. Plus, the A/C would just reset itself back to a default temperature in the middle of the night, which was incredibly annoying. OVERALLYou could certainly do worse than Great Wolf Lodge when it comes to entertaining the kiddos for a couple of days. But if you are trying to decide between Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge, it's a very easy choice: Kalahari is superior in just about every way. It's more expensive, but worth it. The city of Grapevine having more to do than the city of Round Rock was probably the only advantage to GWL, but Kalahari was so much better, we didn't even need to go to our car one time while we were there.

This was my sons only 9th birthday request and thus while price point makes me cringe it's an easy delivered gift. Our last go around here was 3 years ago, and to much surprise renovations are still needed with some of their offered amenities. Our room was a Kid Kamp Suite which offered a camping themed kids area that housed twin size bunk beds, adjacent to that on the other side of the wall was a queen bed and pull out couch. There is a 2 person dinning table & chairs, a 1/2 kitchen with old trusty ice bucket, coffee maker, microwave, and micro fridge. They only give you 3 pods for coffee (it's not a Keurig) but the daily housekeeping if asked will gladly provide more. You can tell the kids climb all over the "tent" feature as it's paint is worn in many areas, especially in and out of the tent window. I purchased the middle grade birthday package at 59.99. It included a door banner, 5 balloons (3 paw balloons and 2 smaller ones), birthday card, $20 dollar paw points, 1/4 sheet white cake coupon you redeem at the food court, 4 birthday plates & cups. The photo of the cake I provided is terrible, I should have timed picking up the cake and rather I picked it up too soon, which would be fine to give it some time to thaw as it's frozen on retrieval, but we were too full to consume it and well the cake doesn't fit in the fridge. So our cake experienced some humidity causing the sugar laid photo to bubble as I still placed it in the fridge with it "cracked" open. All the same the door banner was probably the most liked add on, and now I know the cake is unnecessary if we ever do another birthday package. The location of our room was perfect 4th floor, first suite room at the start of the hall, stones throw to the elevator, The Grounds attraction, and the main lobby stair case which gave us easy access to the extra activities if we so desired to do them. Our view was that of the outdoor park area (which sadly is only open Memorial Day to Labor Day). The Grounds by Top Golf is the newest interactive game based activity. While in theory it's great but the sensors are terrible to respond and at 69.99 an hour that's not acceptable. We spent most of the time frustrated with getting it to respond and many of the games were just not worth the said frustration to play. We ordered onion rings, chicken tenders and fries and 2 drinks. Our total upon leaving with cost of hour was roughly $105. Can't say we would bother with this one again. The Magi & Shadow Quest (Compass Quest is gone they still sell them as souvenirs, but game is obsolete). There is much in need of repair. I can say without a doubt none of the treasure chests function. They still speak to you with wave of wand but all the lids hinges are broken and they don't open. Wands have gotten a massive upgrade in style/look and lights. We had our old wands which I have to admit I like a whole lot more. The games are 14.99/16.99 to play and wands are 19.99 on up in cost and there are toppers which vary in cost. My two kids still enjoyed playing and without a doubt I can say you'll log at minimum 40 flights of stairs playing these games as elevators are too slow for how much you need to move up and down all 8 floors (and you spend much of your time in the "hidden" stairwell). So lastly the water park; we enjoyed the water park arriving early at 9AM to snag chairs and having no wait for the slides. We spent about 3 hours the first day (rode slides about 10 times). All slides are tube/raft style. There are 3 slides that allow single or double rider; these require you to lug a tube up about 5/6 flights of stairs. Orange is fully enclosed and seemed the fastest, yellow is moderate, has random openings inside the park, and green fully enclosed seems same speed as yellow. The other two slides the tubes are brought up by conveyer and offer 2-4 riders. The Tornado (well I rode it backwards) was my least favorite it takes you outside into that large red and yellow funnel which brought on the motion s
