I have lived in hawkins for a total of 4 months and had very VERY high expectations for any school I put my daughter (4 years old) into and they have exceeded everyone of them. The owner is by far one of sweetest people I have meet in the childcare industry and her teachers are amazing and give my daughter the love I hoped they would, no matter what people say this school is great for kids and has helped my daughter tremendously so thank you Barnyard learning center for all you do.
Sincerely,
A caring dad

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS DAYCARE!!!! THIS IS A NEGATIVE 1000 STAR REVIEW. The only reason why my son even went to this daycare is because his old daycare (Kountry Kids Daycare) in Hawkins closed. My child was NEVER a problem at his old daycare and all of his teachers loved him. My son (who is 3) has only been going to this daycare for 4 DAYS. On Monday which was his FIRST DAY I was told that he pushed open the door to the preschool room and was trying to escape. I even noticed MYSELF that the door to the preschool room DOES NOT LATCH. I have shut that door multiple times this week and it only latched one time. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE because my son should not be able to push open a door and go through it at daycare. On Tuesday nothing was said until the next day. On Wednesday I was told that while my son was outside he was throwing toys and the teacher that day sat him down for a little and he was fine afterwards. On Thursday (TODAY) I was told that my son has a behavioral problem and all week they kept asking me how I deal with him acting this way. And every time I told them that if you tell him to stop doing something or tell him no he will listen. I also asked them how they dealt with my child when he acted out and the refused to show me. At this point they were not redirecting him because he does listen. I also asked to see the cameras and they refused to show them to me. My son is not a bad kid nor does he have a behavior problem. I also asked the teachers at his old daycare if my son had a behavior problem and they told me that he DID NOT and that they would talk to him and be patient with him. They have lied on my child and I DO NOT PLAY WHEN IT COMES TO MY KIDS.

This is the only place that I have trusted with the care of my son since I went back to work. The people there have been like a second family to us helping comfort him when he was sad for me to leave. Teaching him everything to get ready for school. Hugging and holding him if he just wasn’t feeling up to it that day. It was a very sad day to see him graduate and go to pre-K but the people here will be dearly missed. Big shout out to the Barnyard kids crew we will miss y’all and hope that everyone else gets to share the experience that we had at Barnyard .

My son has been attending BKLC for about 3 months and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. My son has limited mobility in his left arm and his teacher as well as the admin have been nothing but accommodating to him and share/celebrate his progress with me. His teacher sends me updates and pictures of him through the day which I appreciate and look forward too as well as the art work and lessons he does almost daily. I’m glad I found a place that I’m comfortable with taking my child too!

If I could give negative stars, I would. 10/10 would not recommend working here or bringing your children here. In two weeks time, I saw firsthand, how admin care more about their image and power control than they do the care of the children and of their staff. The owner is hardly ever around, the admin on campus are cliquey and like to bully the staff. Good staff are being let go due to not agreeing with the poor choices made from admin. The director and assistant director are constantly having a power struggle over who actually runs the place and to be honest, I never could tell who was actually in charge. The admins child who attends is constantly physically assaulting other kids and nothing is ever done about this behavior nor are parents informed about it when it does happen. Kids are not in a structured environment due to kids being combined with other aged kids every day so they don’t get their lesson plans done and they’re being shoved in rooms with kids way younger and it becomes a chaotic mess. Students are getting hurt and parents are not always informed nor does the director actually run the cameras so if you ask to see documentation of an injury, good luck with that. Their excuse is that it’s too expensive to run full Time but meanwhile their overcharging parents for tuition. Admin agrees to work with your schedule then last minute changes their mind and prevents you from working. Then when I had had enough, I got a list of ludicrous reasons as to why I was basically getting my final check completely taken from me (sounds like they just didn’t want to pay me for what I worked). The kids are being forced to eat food they don’t want, or we are being told we can’t feed the kids if their even a minute late (the kids are clearly hungry). I was warned about this place so many times before and after applying and I should’ve listened.

Our kids started going here for almost a month now and they’re loving it! Being our first time leaving our kids with someone we don’t know for long hours a day was scary but with the app they use we get to stay informed! I love getting pictures of my kids playing with others and knowing they’re having a great time!

Our almost 3 and 2 year old kids have been going here for almost a month now and we LOVE it! Were notified of incidents, if they ate, how much, when they change diapers and what kind of diaper it was, etc., even if your child goes to the potty on the potty! We love getting pictures of the kids doing all the fun things! The staff is very friendly and very helpful if you ever have any questions!

My son switched to Barnyard back in September from a MDO program that was amazing. The transition was a little rough on both him and myself. But Barnyard worked with us through the rough patch and now He loves going each day and asks about "Blue School" on days that he's not there. There were a few issues with his initial teachers, but they are no longer there. His new teachers, Ariel and Tara, are literally the best teachers. My son talks about them and loves to run to them in the mornings.(When he would cry and beg for mommy with the old teachers). They both are angels and we are thankful for them!Mrs.Andrea and Mrs.Jericka are also fantastic coming from the parent side. I have really high expectations for thoses that care for my son and where he goes. These ladies exceed that and genuinely care for the kids. One of them is always there to easily discuss something as well. It never fails, I am the parent that always seems to have questions and these two never make me feel like a burden for asking them or coming to them with issues.I do want to mention that the facility has made lots of improvements since we started and especially since Mrs.Jericka has been hired. All for the better! One of them being how the parents are notified when accidents happen. ( Being kids, accidents WILL happen) My son has been bit, and had his finger accidentally smashed in a play kitchen door. Both times a report was loaded in the parent app, along with photos and what was done to help ease the pain and discomfort. Both times at pick up my son was 110% unphased that he got hurt earlier in the day. This is extremely important to me as a parent, trusting that I'll be notified when my son is hurt is one of the hardest trusts factors when leaving your child with someone. Barnyard has done a great job so far and we're looking forward to many more fun days at "Blue School"

My son went here for almost a year until recently. I will say overall, it’s a wonderful daycare however, I cannot stand to deal with the new administrative assistant andrea. She caused so many problems in my life and I literally cannot stand her. She turned my son down the other day on Halloween over 4 minutes. Until she came, there has always been a 5 minute grace period & she literally turned me away because I was 4 minutes past 9am. I’m pregnant, my son was choking on a cracker on the way and I had to stop and pull over on the side of the road to make sure he was ok and unlodge a wheat thin cracker out of his throat. Ms. Sara the owner, Ms. Courtney, Ms. Julie, basically the owner and all the teachers are amazing but do not deal with andrea because she will literally ruin your whole day and not have no type of understanding. I loved this daycare until she got there recently and started having her own way of doing things which I know the owner ms Sara would not agree with if she knew or saw the way she acts sometimes on certain stuff. I hope she is fired or let go soon so she can go elsewhere and possibly my son could return to this daycare but as long as she is there I wouldn’t never. I was driving 35 minutes every morning there and back morning and evening, that’s how much I loved the school but she ruined all that. My son was very comfortable here and she took it all away over 4 minutes. Straight ridiculous to me and my family. Other than her, wonderful school, wonderful teachers, and great atmosphere!!

My daughter has attended this learning center since she was four months old, she is now 3. The staff is courteous, kind, patient, and loving. As a parent, leaving your child in the care of someone else for 8 hours a day is hard. Barnyard Kids puts your mind at ease. The staff love the children as if they were their own. 10/10

My little one has been attending BKLC since he was 6 months old and I couldn’t of asked for a better place to call home! Clean and safe environment and the care for the babies is unconditional!

We have been sending our twin 2 year old boys to Barnyard since the opening a year ago. I’ve been really impressed with the positive attitudes from the staff and the quality experience our boys have. It’s not just a daycare but a place that teaches the building steps to kindergarten. There’s been hiccups along the way, but minor as anything in life. We plan to continue to send our boys until they start public school. Check em out!
