“I lived in Hedley Texas in the early 1970s, and Moffitt Hardware Store was a most interesting place to shop. It appeared to me that Hobart had “a little bit of everything” in there. To say the least, it was a little bit disorganized. Hobart always seemed to know he had the item(s) you needed, if he could only find them. He would always tell you to just give him time to find them and he would let you know when he did. I recall going there with the hope of finding a rubber gasket for a very old pressure cooker. Another time I was needing an ironing board cover. In both instances he came by my house to tell me he had found what I needed. A person could almost always find what they needed at Moffitt’s, just so long as they didn’t need it today.”
