Dropped in to Manders unscheduled for a pesky noise recently coming out of my vehicle. Despite a fully booked schedule, Bob had a mechanic ride with me to help ID the noise. Within minutes he was able to tell me I likely had a failing wheel bearing and asked if I could leave the vehicle. I could. Within an hour I got a call with the repair estimate and approved the work. Within 2 hours I got a call the vehicle was ready. So, unplanned visit to complete job in under 4 hours at a fair price. Customer for life!

Mander Auto Shop has always been a great place to take our vehicles. Customer service is excellent. We get in and out quickly. Up front pricing and honest work. Very friendly staff and always have been eager to help.

I was told that Mander Automotive would provide me with quality and honest automotive repair.I had a Jasper remanufactured engine installed at a shop 300 miles from my home. Less than 2,000 miles later, I had issues with the engine. It was still under warranty. I called Mander because they are local to me, and they told me that it would be no problem that they would contact Jasper and that Jasper should cover the cost of all parts and labor to install another engine. He told me that he would have a written estimate of any cost to me within a week. I spent $100 getting the Jeep to his shop based on his reputation of providing honest and quality work.A week and a day later, they called early a.m. to tell me they were pulling my Jeep into the shop to diagnose it, and would have an estimate of what it was going to cost me to have it fixed by the end of the day. I gave them codes and a diagnosis from another shop where I'd just spent $100 having it diagnosed as an engine problem.At the end of the day, there was no phone call. 3 days later no phone call yet, so I called to ask for an update. I was told that whoever I needed to talk to was test driving a car, would be back shortly, and was promised a return phone call very soon that day.3 days later, there was no phone call yet,so I called them first thing in the morning. The girl who answered was extremely rude. Let me know that they only had 5 mechanics when normally they have 12. She told me that whoever I needed to talk to wasn't there and would be out the rest of the week. She promised me that "Bob" (owner?) would be in touch with me in no more than 2 hours when he got to work. At the end of the day, no phone call. By this time, I had lost complete confidence in Mander Automotive. I guess they've changed hands or something? I decided to get my vehicle back home and start over again looking for a shop to fix it (another $100 to get it home).When I came into the shop to get my Jeep, I explained to the girl behind the counter (different girl from that morning) that I was taking my Jeep and why. She told me that "Bob" (owner?) wasn't in. But scrambled around and found an estimate where they were going to try and sell me another engine for $5000 plus labor! (Oh that's right, my Jasper engine parts and labor are covered by warranty "no problem, bring it in and Jasper will replace. We'll take care of everything").I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Mander Automotive. I was told to expect honest and quality work at a fair price. Unfortunately, this wasn't my experience at all. I'm also out the additional expense of transporting my Jeep to and from and the time lost waiting on them for no reason.Services: Auto engine diagnostic

My battery died and I was not supposed to turn it off after being jump started. I turned into Mander and saw that it was extremely busy. I assumed I would need to go somewhere else, but the owner told me my my situation was an emergency and fit me in immediately. I will tell you the long and the short of it: you can find cheaper places, but you can't find more honest service. Bob, the owner, regularly meets with his customers, and he will tell you exactly what the problem is, and exactly how to fix it. I value that a great deal.

Bob Mander is an excellent auto mechanic that provides quality work with honest rates and a fantastic customer experience. My family will drive across town to have him work on our cars, he is that reliable. I will absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an honest mechanic!Services: Tires

Best mechanic in the city. They are typically really busy but if it's something you only want to fix once take it to Mander, its worth the wait. Never had anything but great experiences with them. Will continue to recommend. I should've written this review years ago!

This business is a rare gem in today's world. I had a blowout on the road right in front of this business. As I waited in the waiting room for my turn in the busy waiting room with other happy customers saying nothing but good things about the service. I had never been there and don't live by there. The older gentleman who I believe was the owner had my tire replaced with a spare within 30 min. And here was the great thing. He would not let me pay anything. I even offered a tip..no nothing. He mentioned he was just happy to service people. I couldn't believe it. That along with the happy customers in his waiting room had me convinced to bring all my business to there, and recommend others. Someone at my work recommended Mander Automotive for our car repairs, and we were happy we took the suggestion.They came and picked up the car and towed it back to their shop.In a couple of days, they called with the problem and solution with a estimate that fit out budget.Great place we will bring our cars to Mander Automotive in the event we ever need mechanics in the future.

My whole family has been using Mander automotive for years back when they didn't have an online booking system. This business use to be very customer service oriented. I had an issue come up and called them to discuss the time line for getting my car in. The lady who answered the phone was not understanding what I was asking for so I put in an online service request. I waited a week and hadn't received a confirmation call. So I followed back up and the lady stated that she had no request from me, even though I had emailed proof of my request. The lady stated that they were fully booked for the week I requested and closed the next and booked the week after that. When I re-explained everything to the lady that I just explained weeks ago she fed me canned responses of apologies. After I expressed my frustration with the online service and how the business use to be compared to how it is now she offered for me to speak to Bob. She placed me on hold for several minutes before he picked up the phone. When he did he said "well this is a waste of time. say what you want before I hang up." Then he stated "I will never work on your car again." All without talking to me about any of what transpired. I will never go back. It'd a shame that customer service is no longer a priority

First - the entire staff is friendly, very helpful, but most important you are treated like family. This was my first time having to deal with vehicle. I was not taken advantage of and the price was very reasonable. When i picked up the vehicle, Page explained there would be a service fee if i paid with a credit card. Since this was first time at Mander's, i was not aware of this policy. She told me i could write a check. I no longer carry a check book. She told me i could bring later. It's closing time i could not be back in time. She says bring back tomorrow. What a great place. I recommend it everyone.

Mander turned a horrible experience into a smile on my face and my daughters.The fixed several issues with our Kia Sportage that another shop botched.They were absolutely AMAZING…. Dropped off my truck at Mander for two different repairs. Called back two days later and the receptionist hung up on me. Called again, and the receptionist then told me that I had not made an appointment when I dropped off the truck, so it would be another week before they could look at it. What???Called back a week later and the receptionist told me that everyone was on break, but someone would call me back by the end of day. No one called me.Called back AGAIN (no idea why Mander cannot contact their customers directly) and they said it would be done by noon.Went to pickup the truck and they said their PC's were down and they could not release the truck. After waiting the PC's finally came back and they said there is a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. I asked why I was not told this earlier. No answer.Received the final bill and I asked why only one of the two repairs were made. They said they forgot.I do not recommend this business.Bob - its time to retire!

Great old school place. The guy who tried to complete my alignment on a 68 vette had worked there for 35 years or close to that. Everyone was super polite and kind. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to complete the work because it was more involved than what they had time for that day and I wasn’t willing to leave the car. The owner was involved and a cool old guy as well - charged me an extremely fair amount for the work they did since they couldnt get it all done. They did manage to get the front wheels pointing the same direction…which helped a TON ( I replaced the steering system myself and couldn’t get even the front toe aligned well at home). It is a mom and pop type of situation so be ready for that vibe. They apparently have been around FOREVER and I’m glad I found them.
