AVOID GUADALUPE ARMENTA-CARRASCO at this location.
Last week I made an appointment to get a vaccine at 2:40 pm at this Bandera Rd/Helotes location. I arrived around 2:25 and waited for the provider to show up from lunch. She came at 2:37 (7 mins late) for her job with a loud group of people which she was laughing and being loud along with.
She opened her door and invited these people inside. I walked to her and told her I had the 2:40 appointment and asked why she was taking these people first. She said because they were her primary care patients. Really? They were her buddies who audaciously took my spot with no shame or regard.
I walked to the pharmacy counter and asked them to give me the shot since I did not want this health care unprofessional to give me the vaccine.
When she came out I was at the counter and I told her I was getting the vaccine from the pharmacy. She yelled “perfect”. I wanted to get her name and ran after her and tried to hold the door while she literally pulled the door with all her might so I cant stop her. I knocked and ofc she did not open.
I waited… got her name if she did not lie her name is GUADALUPE ARMENTA. WAIT I found out her full name is GUADALUPE ARMENTA-CARRASCO. Whoever hired her should fire her and themselves. She is an embarrassment to the Minute Clinic and her profession. What a disgrace.

I originally tried a different location, but they didn't honor their hours of operation. It seemed the CVS staff and pharmacy staff also knew that the MinuteClinic staff didn't honor their hours either. That lead me to this location. I am a cash patient and came to this Minute Clinic to get medication for a Stye. I had done some research and thought this would be cheaper than going to an Urgent Care. But the prices posted were not clear. I talked to a doctor for maybe two minutes and my bill was close to almost $400. All for someone to make eye contact, confirm she could see a stye, and give me a prescription..Luckily I was able to use an alternative insurance to cover most of it. However, when I called a pharmacy they told me that the medicine on the prescription could not be filled (and was extremely expensive) and that I would not be able to get that medicine. I had to go back to the minute clinic doctor, interrupt an appointment (as there's no front desk) and wait for her to Google medications that pharmacy's do offer and that were recommended by my pharmacist. All in all, the process was stressful. The medicine my actual pharmacist recommended was $18.00 meanwhile the medication the MinuteClinic wanted me to get was over $100 and not available anywhere anymore. All in all, don't write off Urgent Care.

My family has used the CVS Minute Clinic in Helotes on weekends when we can't get in with our regular doctor. Ms. Desai has been so wonderful during each visit. She is knowledge and kind. We have confidence knowing we can go and be well taken care of.

I was able to see the NP, Dr. Carrasco, the same day that I called in to schedule!
She painlessly drew blood like a pro!
Blood work results came back the very next day! And she called me to go over the test results!
Dr. Carrasco was super helpful, asked all the right questions. If she didn't have an answer she was unafraid to say so and willing to find the answer.
She took her time with me but was quick and efficient in fulfilling her duties.
I was given follow up options and clear instructions on next steps.
I believe I found the GP and clinic I was looking for!

Very nice and easy service. Doctor was very nice but prices weren’t clear or posted to me beforehand as far as I could tell. Their prices seem high though. I went for a diabetes screening, doctor seem to feel that a A1c test was unneeded after doing a glucose monitor test. Blood sugar normal and she said it was 85 dollars for that which I know is overpriced since I could have bought a monitor for less there at cvs. Even a A1c test cost less.

Nirja was the sweetest most patient provider I’ve seen in a long time. I was a walkin, within 30 min was called in. My insurance sent me here as an option and all my concerns were addressed. Nirja was great and glad I decided to go to this location!

Waste of time ! I do not Health Insurance and therefore pay cash for any services necessary. My son went to the clinic because he had been vomiting the night previous and the morning of but was no longer vomiting no fever no other symptoms. The main purpose of the visit was to receive a doctors note to provide the school for his missing absence of that day. We were told that he needed a flu test, which I personally did not think was necessary being that he was feeling fine by this point and had no symptoms to warrant the flu test. Unfortunately, the test was given without any price information and after the test was done I then found out it would be $140! I would’ve never agreed to this test knowing the price. I assumed it was a test that was covered at no additional charge to ensure a safe community during a flu season. I have seen CVS have different test available for free such as Covid in the past. The total appointment was $288 for absolutely nothing! Of course he did not have the flu, no prescriptions were given, as the main point of the appointment was to simply receive a doctors note for the one day of excused absence for the school. After all that, the note given for school was not done correctly, and the school would not even take it. Unfortunately, this was a complete waste of our time and money. It would’ve been nice to be told that the test given would have been an additional $140 as it has put our family in a financial bind! when there is no insurance on file and clients are having to pay cash, I think it is extremely important that any fees are communicated prior to the service.
