To be honest I wanted to give the hotel a 1 star but I want to be fair. My reservation was for a top floor room for the sake of peace and quiet. This hotel was itself quiet minus the family in the room overhead with parents that REFUSED to control their energetic toddlers that continued to run from one end of the room to the other, non-stop for hours even after management told them more than once to take the kids outside to play or control their animals because they are disturbing other guests.That nuisance aside, the room was not equipped with a coffee maker, a fire alarm, the sofa had stains, the furniture was badly cared for, only one light worked at the sink in the bathroom and the television seemed to be from the early 1980's. It was about 6 inches thick and a Curtis Mathis.

New hotel. Yeah it's a super 8 but don't let that trick you. This place is really nice all things considered. Staff was amazing and check-in was, for a lack of better words, fun. Would definitely stay here again.

From the outside it's just meh, but we were very surprised & pleased the moment we stepped inside. Very clean, very nice, down-to-earth staff. They're currently converting from carpet to tile in the rooms & we were fortunate enough to get the first room with tile. The rooms are huge & very clean. And, there's a pool that we were pleasantly surprised with. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay, with no complaints.

I honestly thought it was perfect at first since i was told i could still get a refund after a booking error and was lucky enough to still be able to get a room last minute....just to have a completely innocent couple that by the way had booked this room days prior and called ahead of time to confirm everything was in place, spook my sleeping parents at 1 am because they were given the same room! I put it a side until the third party booking service told me that when they got in contact with the hotel they denied my first booking refund that was a month later. when i called the hotel they were insistent that the 3rd party is to blame and that they would have their boss call. They never did. all in all horrible first time trip to Hidalgo.

Large rooms showers and ac. Remote location and quiet. Friendly staff. I got a good deal on priceline and have no complaints.

I stayed here for a while when I was getting procedures done from different doctors and specialist. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are a great value for the price. I am disabled and they helped me with anything I needed. The hotel is a bit out of the way but it's only a 5 minute drive from McAllen. Overall it was such a great stay that I ended up staying 3 weeks.Rooms: Great price and rooms were very spacious with nice bathrooms.

Very clean very spacious rooms. Gilbert in particular was very accommodating as I had made the reservation for the wrong room and he was able to push me into a non-smoking room. Excellent service in the morning for breakfast also by Gilbert I highly recommend this hotel for its economy, and its cleanliness and roominess. Very modern bathroom for the price.

I highly recommend you avoid this hotel. It is poorly maintained (gym out of service, AC's leaking in rooms, sheet rock tape peeling off walls, elevator buttons literally taped on). The continental breakfast is a joke. Literally 2 kinds of cereal and sliced bread for toast. Literally just those 2 options. And beware, just because they have amenities listed in the hotel description doesn't mean they have them. Example is no coffee makers in rooms. They haven't had them since the pandemic but they're still listed in the description. Also this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Closest thing is a gas station that's a half a mile away. After that there's nothing around.

We checked in went into out room & it smelled. My husband checked our room & realized someone had left food in the fridge, expired food. We found mini bottles of liquor by the bed. Seems like housekeeping didn't really clean. We went downstairs to tell front desk & they didn't seem to care. Next day we buy water from the vending machine & they were hot!! Again we tell front desk & they didn't care. I've stayed here before when I visit my family but this time it was so dirty & the staffed sucked. I'm never staying here again. I'm so disappointed in them.

Stay is nice and quiet. It is located next to the Payne Arena. The pool area is very nice and family friendly. Staff is great! The only downside is that the breakfast is a disappointment! Don't put on the site breakfast served. For toast and cereal, that is continental breakfast. That is why this place stays at the 8 star ratings.

no coffee in the rooms like other super 8 motel the evening clerk tells you continental breakfast will at 6 in the morning the next day you show up for breakfast to find out there not open at 6 so you ask the clerk he gives you a different hour.they will be open at 7 am.
