Roaches in room. Bathroom was bad enough I didn't want a shower. Bed and pillow was like a rock

Stayed recently. Everything was excellent—clean rooms, great amenities, perfect location, and delicious food. However, the service was disappointing. Staff were inattentive and slow to respond to requests. Improving service would make this hotel outstanding.

Upon checking in, I found that the floor had not been swept and I found a walnut size cockroach on it's back and still alive. I went to ask for a dustpan and broom. I went back to the office with the intention of showing them (no yelling involved) that their housekeeping staff is not doing an adequate job and the young female receptionist accused me of being disrespectful. I was a bit confused and flabbergasted. At first I thought she was kidding. Then she told me that she wanted us to check out and leave. I said no because I had nowhere else to go. She stated that she could tell that I was the type of person who would complain about everything until I checked out. She proceeded to tell me that she'd rather I didn't stay because she knows I'm going to give a bad review. I told her that I had not planned on doing that but I would certainly be doing that now due to her rudeness. I went back to my room and a few minutes later the phone rang. She was calling me to tell us that she wanted us to check out and if we did not, she would call the cops. I told her that if she could find me a hotel nearby, I would gladly leave (there were no hotel rooms available anywhere because it was the day before the eclipse). I had pre-paid $75 for this room and I think she wanted me to leave so she could re-rent it for twice the cost to some desperate person looking for a last minute room. Cops never came. Horrible woman. Hair in the tub, used up pantyshield in corner of shower, dead bugs in fridge, ripped curtains, stained bedding, lumpy pillows, non-smoking room that smelled like smoke. I've stayed in cheaper hotels that were far cleaner and more pleasant. I'm not a difficult person, but I do expect a clean room. I've travelled extensively and stayed in hundreds of hotels. Most hotel staff will bend over backwards to make something right. She didn't care at all about the condition of the room or our experience. She was unacceptably rude.

Dead roaches under the bed. The room smelled like pine sol but the floor looks gross. The sides of the beds look like someone threw up on the side of the bed and only the floor was "cleaned". The cleaning service needs to actually clean.
In reply to the owner: The room wasn't under our name but I was a guest with my uncle.

Do not, i repeat. DO NOT stay at this hotel. The room was nasty. It was a not smoking room, and there was an ashtray on the table. It stunk . There were roaches, dead and live ones. The bed was terrible, made squinting noises, and the backboard was not secured to the wall. Terrible, terrible place.

I've been staying her almost a month now and it's peaceful no drama clean and very friendly everyone. I haven't had any problems here. Housekeeping is on point. Friendly the owners are very helpful and very friendly. Come stay here weekly rates are reasonable. I recommend this motel I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I stay here I'm usually gone majority of the day but it's people friendly our room was clean everything works and is clean. They are remodeling. They are putting in new light fixtures and ceilings out with the old in with the new.

Owner Rhonda Patel at American best value inn is the wife Mahit Patel, who runs the Motel 6 across the highway. I was not rude but majorly concerned because I had a phobia against roaches. Rhonda made it clear she didn't want to rent a room to my family after I asked if ROACHES were a problem in her motel. She attempted to minimize my phobia of roaches. Extremely poor customer service skills from the owner, Rhonda. She attempted to explain that I may see a water bug every now and then, I stopped her and explained, "A water bug IS a roach." I felt she should have been more empathetic and explained WITHOUT BEING OFFENDED herself or offending the customer that Hillsboro the city has a roach infestation issue in most motels. Instead, she was rude and offensive. Any good review of this property is most likely from a family member. She made us feel we ought to be glad renting a roach filled room from her.
