I travel out of the country often and have never had an issue using my debit card at ATMs. However, the last time I traveled, Woodforest locked my card from ATM transactions. No big deal, I should just be able to call them right? Let's start there. You can only contact Woodforest National Bank customer service during US business hours. Considering that they handle your money, it's concerning that you cannot contact them 24 hours a day. Anyway, I finally got in contact with them to unlock my card. I had to call 6 times, I was repeatedly transferred, I was told by representatives that they could not unlock my card, and I was told by one of their managers that it was my fault for not contacting them before I traveled. Even though it had never been an issue in the past. After going back and forth with their customer service team, they finally transferred me to a fraud specialist. They proceeded to ask me around 10 security questions about my account. I answered every question. The fraud specialist told me that I had answered the question about where my account was opened incorrectly and stated that the account was opened in Colorado, not the location I specified. I have never traveled to Colorado in my life, and furthermore, the representative just gave me the answer to a security question that he claims I answered incorrectly (even though I didn't). So, not only did they lie about where my account was opened, they gave out private information from my account. Fortunately that information is wrong. After that situation, they just transferred me back to Customer Service where I was repeatedly told that there is nothing they can do at all, even though I was 9000 miles away from home with no way to access my own cash. Finally, the last representative I talked to claimed she was transferring me to her manager, but instead hung up because she knew it was after business hours at that point and I would not be able to call back. This was like a twilight zone experience.Do not trust this bank with your money. Do not trust this bank with your personal information. If you can even get in contact with their customer service team they are no help.

Miriam could really use customer service coaching. Her energy and attitude needs all the positivity it can consume.

Sasha and Miriam are so rude. Miriam decided to make me wait 20 minutes for service but wanted to argue with me because I said it was not good service. She told lakesha to process my request and I responded well i no longer need to speak with you since she is helping me. She continued to be rude and force a conversation with me. I told her please stop it was unwelcome. While lakesha process my request she told her to stop and I could leave but lakesha had already processed it because she works quickly and is respectful

Woodforest is the worst bank in history ! They do not care about their customers and I would avoid them at all cost. It seems that even when I use THEIR tools to make sure I am not going to be hit with any fees they still find away. The customer service does not help with anything at all either. Their system clearly must be broken because it shows I have money but when I go to use it they quickly change it around even when you quote what their policies are. I’m taking my money elsewhere. They literally charged me 4 overdraft fees after the “pre authorized” was OFF my transactions (meaning it has been processed) I had money in my account for 4 transactions and they wait until I actually use my overdraft to draw out money on my 5th transaction (2 days later I might add when everything is settled) charge me 4 overdraft back to back. I’ll be taking my business else where, this isn’t the first time this has happened. I put money in my account another time and they showed I had it available immediately, I checked two days later and they charged me an overdraft for that same day. Thanks for showing you care about your customers during a pandemic. I check my account everytime to see if things have settled or look as if they are that day... everytime I check it’s another fee. At this point they want me to live in overdraft land... nothing comes out on time. When you see you have money in your account it’s a lie... they are going to find a way to work around the system to charge you. I wash my hands of Woodforest.

Today I came to receive my Western Union transfer at the Atascocita branch 6626 FM 1960. I didn’t take the risk to recount the amount right there since the bank branch is in the open area of local Walmart. At home I discovered that the amount was $100 less. After I called them and they confirmed that the teller has $100 extra, I drove there again. I understand it was an honest mistake although the teller kept getting distracted during the transaction. This time instead of saying sorry about the mistake she met me with a stone face and demanded my ID, then barked me the command to recount the missing amount. Instead of simple apology which I would have easily accepted, she started an argument as if it was my fault! I had to remind her that I had to drive there TWICE because of her mistake and I’m 70 years old. Unprofessional, rude and completely unabashed. Stay away!
