This doctor saved my husband from losing his eye vision in one eye permanently. We went on a small vacay from Houston to Dallas when on the way back to Houston my husband's vision started to get fuzzy I rushed to find an eye doctor who could help on our way back home and this center was the only one kind enough to get us at the last minute. The doctor was very attentive and caring. He shows you and explains to you and even offers his number for after hours if you ever need him in an emergency this super doctor is the one to call.

As I walked in when I shut no contact in the other one and hurting from the light. The people immediately recognized and helped me. All the nurses there were very polite and helpful. The doctor was funny polite and and very kind. If I had to pick an eye doctor it would be this place.

I woke up Thursday morning with excruciating pain in my eyes. I could barely open them due to sensitivity to light and they felt like they were being consistently burned with hot pokers. It was some of the most horrific pain I've ever felt.I went in to Dr. Means' office without an appointment right when they opened at 8 am hoping that they could help me. They immediately saw me without any issues. I had to be led in by staff because I could not open my eyes due to the pain. They sat me down in a dark patient room and gave me numbing eye drops which took away the pain enough for Dr. Means and his staff to check my eyes out with a few different tests. They were so incredibly sympathetic and helpful.He told me I had chemical burns to my eye balls and my cornea was in danger of one of its layers sloughing off. I was so scared! But he knew exactly what to prescribe me (ointment with an antibiotic and steroid in it) as well as eye drops and told me that he didn't see any signs of scaring or permanent damage (thank you Jesus)!It's been only 3 days since he saw me and here I am typing on a computer for this review. I've gone from not being able to see anything and in excruciating pain to almost back to normal with the help he and his staff gave me (without an appointment). I am so beyond grateful to Stephen H Means & Associates for helping me!

I'm fairly new to the area. I had expected to wait quite a while for a new patient appointment. To my surprise, I called yesterday, got in today (due to a cancellation). The appoint went fast, smooth and thorough. Love their diagnostic equipment and I did not have to sit in a room waiting on a doctor. This practice is a "well oiled" machine!

My Aunt was hospitalized and lost her glasses in the process. The staff and Dr. Means helped me out and got them done fast so my Aunt can see. I am Thankful for this office to help me being that I was from out of town not able to come in, in person.

My husband and I were both seen today at Dr. Means place. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Dr. Mills explained everything to both my husband and I and what was going on with our eyes and different options for my husband's contacts.

Great eye center. I drive all the way from Tomball to see these great people. Dr. Means and Dr. Mills are excellent and work with you to get the prescription that fits you best. Highly recommend.

Kept pushing progressive lenses despite repeated protests. Now I have to turn my head like an owl to see anything. Just get your prescription and buy glasses online.

Oh how I love this office. I don’t usually leaves reviews ever but after my visit the other day I felt I needed to spread the word for everyone to see! I hadn’t had an eye exam in awhile so I went in and saw Dr. Means. When he entered the room he was already so pleasant. Dr. Means and Natalie his side kick (that’s what I call her lol) we’re so so patient and sweet. He took the time to explain and answer all my questions and even remember stuff about me from years ago. After the exam little natalie walked me to get glasses and she was just the sweetest soul and very intelligent just like the Dr. she works with. If anyone needs an eye exam I highly recommend going and seeing Dr. Means. The exam was great getting glasses was easy and the glasses and front desk staff were very helpful and everything was cost affective.

WOW! From Roxy at the receptionist's desk to begin with, to Tammy at the end in checkout, and Dr. Means, Dr. Lindsey Mills, Tina in the front office and Melissa in eyeglasses in between - these wonderful people and the other excellent staff members are very happy, friendly and thorough professionals! My wife and I have been there several times this year for eye exams, contacts, eyeglasses and follow ups for two eye surgeries Dr. Means needs to rename his practice to "The Steven Means Center of Excellence in Optometry". They Really Are that good!

Excellent and knowledgeable staff. Exams are thorough, staff is kind, and the Cash pay cost is minimal for excellent service.Esly did an amazing job finding frames that were the right fit and color, cleaned up my 5 yr old glasses and answered all of my questions with grace and wisdom.Always enjoy going to this place, I’m never disappointed!

This was my second attempt at getting a good pair of glasses after a dismal beginning with another provider. I was very pleasantly surprised. They provide top notch service. Dr. Means is an experienced and highly competent professional with a great sense of humor. I received a very thorough eye examination using modern equipment. Each step was explained to my satisfaction. All of my questions were answered. After the exam, Esly helped me pick out a great pair of glasses. She explained the options in a thorough but easy to understand way. She adjusted the frames perfectly for a good fit. Then she helped me fix a problem with my vision insurance and got me a fantastic price on my glasses. When my glasses arrived, they were exactly what I expecting. No disappointment. What a relief! I highly recommend them to anyone. Great facility. Great staff.

As always, Dr.Means and his staff are the best! I’ve been a patient of Dr.Means’ since he first started in Huntsville and have always been happy with the care I’ve received there. I trust him completely for my eye care.
