We have taken our dogs to Camp Bow Wow to board when we go on trips. They always come home happy and healthy. The staff is very friendly and is happy to oblige our specialized diets for the dogs, which usually consists of about 50lbs of raw frozen meat. Even with this extra burden on their freezer space, they are happy to accomodate.

I have yet to have a bad experience at Camp Bow Wow Hutto! It is right by my apartment so it is so easy to drop off (and a plus is they do not charge me extra to feed him his breakfast so he isn't starving when I pick him up!) and pick up when I have to go into the office! I also love that they do so many activities with them! Ollie comes home exhausted!! The staff are so sweet as well! <3

When I expressed concern over my dogs stay in a calm manner, didn’t cuss or raise my voice, and used less accusatory words the owner or manager did not treat me with the same respect. My exact words were “ Im sorry to trouble you however I do have a concern regarding my dogs boarding. When I got home I noticed the blankets smelled like how they did when I brought them. Like my laundry.” I couldn’t even say another word after that. She talked over me and cut me off immediately. She very obviously has not received soft skills training in customer service or deescalation practices. She interrupted me by speaking over me before I finished a sentence and then proceeded to first challenge my concern over my dog with sensitive joints not getting his blanket with him at night that they told me I could bring. I smelled the detergent and the laundry softener plus the extra scent boost beads I buy. She challenged me first by saying they washed the blankets. Then she switched tactics to telling me to be understanding that with 120 dogs boarding, things will be missed and that’s the way it is. And then again switched tactics by saying that if I had a special needs dog then I shouldn’t bring my dog in at all. Before I could get in a word she cut me off again saying she was training new employees and would need to call me back later. As if I wanted to speak to such a rude and disrespectful person again. And to think she spoke to a customer this way in front of new hires training. I guess lack of professionalism should be added to the lack of customer service skills list. Throw in common courtesy with that too.I let it slide that when I went to pick up the staff only brought me half of my belongings for my dogs. They brought me their supplements and their blankets. Then when they brought the dogs I asked “ where is their food container and their bowls?” They had to go look for them. So they obviously don’t prepare or keep track of owners belongings that they bring in. It was up to me to make sure I got everything back.Biggest thing is, she didn’t even know who she was speaking with. I have worked for a Dog Training/Daycare/Boarding facility for 5 years as a kennel tech, front desk reception, and supervisor. I was also a vet tech at a local vet hospital and have gone to seminars with dog behavioralists. I’ve been in this business for so long until I made a career change. I know how this works. And the place I worked at was a bigger facility. 200+ dogs boarding over holidays and sometimes we wouldn’t be out til 2 am. This job doesn’t have a lot of rewards but we don’t do it for that. It takes guts, mental fortitude, endurance, compassion, and LOVE to do this. I would be damned if I didn’t make sure pet owners pups were not looked after just like they are at home. And I have never treated a customer as if they were in the wrong due to certification training in soft skills, management, and de-escalation tactics. Plus it’s just plain stupid. You don’t win loyalty that way.I recently reached out on social media to the Austin community and every single other vet, vet tech, and some previous coworkers all agreed this lady was horribly in the wrong and does not know what special needs are for dogs. I’ve taken care of dogs boarding that had wheels due to not being able to use their back legs. Or another needing injections for medication. That’s more what special needs means. And I wouldn’t dare to make an owner feel bad just because their dog has special needs. Why would you do that? That’s their loved one. It’s disgusting.Congratulations for showing your ignorance and negligence in this business. You’re right, I will take my business elsewhere. Thankfully the Austin community forums have provided many other alternatives that know how to handle the hard task of providing blankets to dogs at night.

Always have a great experience at this Camp Bow Wow. I came in today to pick up my large dog on New Year’s Eve Sunday after four day stay and found out my dog did not get his scheduled spa bath. The owner Roxanne apologized profusely and immediately offered to have it done and then bring him to me in Georgetown to make it right. Great folks!!!!!

So far so good. Glad that we came here with our dog as he seems to enjoy it.Edit 06 November 2023 Google did a "Update your review to help others." So updating my review. This place has been really good for our dog. He seems to like to go and we have no issues with him not wanting to go in. The cameras that you can watch your dog on are especially a huge reason we bring him here. He seems to enjoy barking all day long and watching others around him. Really glad that we came here as he seems happy. He has done about 3 weeks worth of lodging at this location and it all has turned out really well. Overall a great choice for our dog.

Staff is very helpful and polite to answer concerns. Clean and not over crowding when dogs are playing. Watched close during playtime as seen on dog cam. We had never left him as he has separation anxiety but. In no time he was welcomed. We will return- great 1st visit ??

This was our first time for day care at this location. My dog appeared fine. I can say there wasn't any warm welcomes coming in this morning nor during pick up. This morning a young lady was assisting someone on the phone so of course she couldn't tend to me however she could have held up a finger for just a sec or some other acknowledgement of a customer standing there. A young man came out to assist. He asked who I was bringing and took my dog to the back. It was great that he came out to assist and took care of business but please attempt to smile and say good morning. It takes two seconds. During pickup, I said hello to the young lady at the desk when I arrived. She appeared to be soft spoken since I couldn't hear her respond to my hello. She asked who I was picking up. I told her and asked how her day was going just for her to engage. I will try this location a few times before forming any other opinions but I would say work on making customers feel welcome, smile and act like you want to be there.

Beware of this place. They will change your reservation last minute without notification, over feed your dog and they leave them kenneled for 90% of the day on Sundays. They take very little accountability for their mistakes and then decide to inactivate your account when you voice concerns.

I waited over a year to write this review because I wanted to make sure I was not writing it emotionally. We used to use Camp Bow Wow until one day they called me saying our dog bit someone and could not go back. Now one thing they didn't know was that I am that crazy dog mom and my video stayed on non-stop while I was at work. I was watching her play with the owners dog (who I have seen them have to remove several times from the play yard) and the owners dog put my dog down by the neck...which is how dogs play and/or tell other dogs/animals to leave them alone. My dog immediately stopped her playing and laid still. I saw the worker grab the hose and start spraying my dog who was laying on the ground while the owners dog had her by the neck. Then...surprise surprise the camera's went off. I called my husband completely upset and in the process of him calming me down they called letting me know my dog had bit someone and we needed to pick her up immediately. I asked to talk to the owner and she would not speak to me. I told them to make sure she was available when I got there and of course she was not. We told them we would wait so she had no choice but to come out. She would not listen to us and continued to make excuses for her dog as well as would not let us see or speak to the person who was bit and at one point a girl walked in and said it didn't even break the skin which the owner gave her a "mean" look. All in all I am glad this happened because I had no idea that my dog not wanting to go to the back when we visited was her telling me something more than she misses me. We now are at an amazing place that she loves to visit and barely takes the time to tell me bye before she goes to play with the amazing staff and her friends.

I’ve taken my dog to daycare multiple times and it’s great! My baby always comes home exhausted. No complaints on the daycare. However I had a horrible experience with grooming. Today my dog got a basic bath and when I picked him he was still wet. I expected him to be a little damp since it comes with a towel dry but he was leaving droplets of water on the floor. When I brought it to their attention they said they could bring me a towel so I could dry him MYSELF. I’m not even sure if they put the dog perfume on because he smelled like wet dog when I picked him up. I’m very unsatisfied with their basic bath and should have gone elsewhere.
