Wow! My sisters and I are closing down our parents' home and we needed a storage place. The folks at this facility are SO kind!!!! They took the time to call me and chat before we leased the space, and they answered a bunch of questions. We visited the site and asked a bunch more questions - all of them answered so kindly and patiently by the competent staff. The place is clean, safe, hi-tech, and genuinely nice inside!!! My sisters and I give them our highest rating and most sincere recommendation!

I was using the website to rent a unit, however I prefer going in office. I rushed to the office, since it was closing in 25 minutes. I was helped by Jen, who was amazing and answered all my questions! Super nice and personable. We finished my rental process, went to look at the unit which was even better than what I expected! All before they closed! I’d say a very fast and easy process! Highly recommend.

I was initially frustrated and disappointed with my experience at Public Storage due to some issues with my move-in and billing. However, Rick completely turned things around! I am honestly shocked and delighted by how he handled the situation.
He went above and beyond to address my concerns and ensure everything was made right. His professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction were truly refreshing. What started as a frustrating experience ended on a high note, thanks to Rick’s efforts.

Terrible customer service. That alone has me trying to get my things out and find somewhere else to use. Also, they have maybe 3 carts? Which isn’t useful when there is almost always multiple groups of people when I’ve gone and they are always taken. You’d think there would be enough money that they can afford a couple more. And they won’t do anything when one group takes all the carts and don’t actually use them. There may not be rules against that, but good customer service would be them mentioning to a group if they aren’t actually going use all three carts, they should return them back to the area for other guests to use. But again, they lack good customer service, so I’m not entirely surprised.

STRUGGLES OF THE DOWNTRODDEN
Do NOT rent a storage space from this company. This has been the absolute worst experience of my life as far as renting from a supposed reputable company and I have rented from many different companies in the past. Public Storage comes up with a multitude of ways and reasons to continue charging me for minute things. They originally were offering a “special deal” for my rental which was why I chose them when I was researching companies for the best value, security and protection for my belongings. So, BEWARE their “specials” because they are misleading. Ie: Initially, when coming in to square away the contract, the cost was triple what I was quoted over the phone due to never before discussed add-ons and fees. Also, the aggressive and conniving push for insurance (which btw, I have an indoor, climate controlled unit on the third floor in a bldg that Fort Knox could take a lesson from on security. So I feel there is no need for insurance) They continued to charge me even after I told them over the phone that I didn’t want it, then when the first month was due, then yet again even after I had changed it on the app when the 2nd payment was due which all can be overlooked with auto-payment withdrawl if not paying close attention. I believe that is what they’re counting on. It was an annoying and time consuming expense to remove from my account. I have yet to call and get an actual human on the phone. So I have to wait for them to call back, usually when I’m at work and can’t discuss matters. It seems every time I do get to speak with someone or need to make a change or handle something regarding this rental, I get charged a fee. I was late on my unit for two they are charging me a 300% mark up in fees. I thought I had paid the balance, not the fees to catch up but my bank, according to them, did not pay it. Of which, I never received any notification regarding it from neither my bank nor them. Just another notice they are auctioning my things. When I call the number it shows the transaction has been paid but they are still charging me for it. So not sure which it is. Did my bank make the payment to them or not? Not sure bc noone answers when I call. Doesn’t matter anyway because until I make the full payment with the 300% mark up in fees and bring my balance to zero, they are going to auction my things. I cannot pay by phone bc they do not take payment over the phone, the app isn’t working so I can’t pay through that and to pay through the automated service they are charging an additonal $10.00 “convenience service” fee. I understand why this is a billion dollar business…because they are in the business of legally robbing people especially those that are in transitional and/or desperate circumstances who are already monetarily challenged. We are at their mercy when they have our possesions. Possession is 9/10 the law and they know they can charge whatever they want and we will have to pay. They are Big Bullies! Do NOT give them that control by renting from them. Take your business and money to someone who will treat you and your things with respect and not like an insignificant faceless purse to nickel amd dime from until the lease either expires or they get their chance to auction your things.

To start, we are still interested in renting but I wanted to document an experience we had with a representative on the phone. I don’t think this person resides within the Hutto location, but we called to see what availability they had, we wanted to view the size to ensure it would be enough space. The representative we spoke to, Rick, was very condescending and rude. He questioned why we even wanted to look at a space, stated that “no one looks at them, it’s just a garage.” He quoted me on the price of a space, which was slightly different than what was showing online, I asked if he wouldn’t mind explaining, his response was, “well online doesn’t show the hidden fees now does it?”
I felt like I was obviously wasting his time and he was having a bad day. Please don’t take it out on your customers, especially when we just had generic questions.
