Camp Rio Vista is truly a magical camp experience. Our three boys have been campers here for years, and now one of them is a counselor. The staff is friendly, and enthusiastic, creating a safe and fun-filled environment. Our boys have been given opportunities to try new activities, explore new interests, and learn valuable life skills. The facilities are top-notch, the food is delicious (looking at you, Mrs. Becky’s famous cinnamon rolls!) and the traditions are truly special. Our family highly recommends Camp Rio Vista to anyone looking for a great summer camp experience.

Wrapping up our 2nd year. It’s such a blessing to know that our daughter is safe, healthy and definitely NOT bored. Having the facial recognition app really eases us parents to see the daily activity and the smile for days. Received a handwritten letter in the mail this year and last and it’s such a beautiful treat. The I Love You, Thank you, and miss you is such a reward on top of my friends are here we have matured year to year and making new friends. Thanks mom and dad - I would recommend this camp to anyone! This is our daughter’s reward for having worked hard in school all year and keep up with her sports. This is her vacation - physically mentally and spiritually. Thank you Vista Family, in a few years I hope we are a camp counselor Parents I would like to mention we drive one way 7 hours just to drop off ? (so worth it)

According to my 10 year old son: the food is awesome, any activity you want is available, bunk houses were cool and comfortable at night, and the counselors were all really nice. The tribal competitions add an extra element that bonds all of the age groups together. And from the parent perspective, the online portal is a perfect way to keep us in the loop. The property is gorgeous and everything is well maintained. He can’t wait to go back!

My son has been going to Rio Vista for 4 years and nothing compares to the fun he has there. The staff and counselors are really amazing people. I can't say enough good things about his camp experience.

I was a Rio Vista camper here for diabetic camp in August 1984. It was a life changing experience for me. The Hawkins family were great hosts. The best thing to see was Mr. Hawkins had to do a double shot on both his legs because all campers in dining hall did a routine right. The fact that all counselors and directors did needle sticks to know what we went through daily made them easily relatable to us campers. Those were good times back then. Looks like the place has continually gotten better as the years went by. Have only GOOD things to say about this place ?

My husband attended Rio Vista back in the early 1980s and now my 3 kids attend Rio Vista and Sierra Vista. The wonderful memories they have made at camp are priceless. It's their home away from home and where they have had some of their happiest moments. They are always sad to leave and can't wait to go back next summer. The directors and counselors are amazing and care so much for each camper. They give their all to make sure each camper has a great experience. Friendships, independence, growth, fun, service, hard work, leadership and teamwork are just a few words to describe why we are grateful for Vista Camps.

My youngest son was a camper here and now my two granddaughters. Beautifully located on the Guadalupe river and is run by the same family for over fourty years. An extraordinary environment for young people to learn and grow as individuals but also to get along with their peers.

This camp has been fabulous for our son. It's a smaller camp and therefore has a more intimate feel. The activities are great and the property is absolutely beautiful!

This is our third year sending our girls to Sierra Vista. Every year when we pick them up from camp, they give us the biggest hug and say “thank you for giving us the best gift two parents could give!”As parents, we love Sierra Vista for many reasons. The biggest draw to the camp, besides the fact it is Christian, is the culture. It is not a day spa in the hill country. It is camp like what you see in the movies. They get dirty, do new things and just get to be a kid. It’s the best!

I’m a camper here at Vista and for anyone who has had anything not good to say about it is wrong. It has taught me so much about manners and it helps us tennagers learn how great it can be just to get off our phones and be free for 2 weeks. Ms. Becky is the cook and she has the best food, and what makes it even better is that we know she cooks it with love and for us to enjoy with all of our friends. At vista I make so many new friends each year and build relationships that will last me a lifetime. The activities choices are endless and you can find something for everyone to enjoy. To me and my friends we think the no air conditioning is no problem because we have our nice fans to bring and most of the time we’re outside playing anyways. The tribes or “teams” that we have are such a unique touch to camp. It is not displayed in a disrespectful or insentive way at all. It teaches us how to work as a team and what healthy competition is all about. I look forward to the dance and carnival each year because we get to spend time with the Rio Vista boys and meet new friends from there as well. The best part about Vista Camps? The traditions! The camp has been around so long and you get to know the family and directors so well that you feel so apart of camp. People come from all over the states who experienced camp in the 90’s and nothing has changed. It is so traditional and welcoming. Camp is home to so many and we would never know what to do without it. We love you Vista!

We love this place. With plans to make this our son's home away from home during summers. Nat is an amazing person and we love him for all he has done for our son. In the short time with his Rio Vista family his confidence went from questioning himself to believing in himself. We only did the week term and then our son got strep and had to come home. Or son fights with strep so it wasn't nothing they did. He was such a sad boy on the way home. But we are planning for 2 weeks this coming year ..

Attended this camp as a camper and as a counselor. Now my young daughter goes and she loves it as much as I did. The camp is run by a great family. The focus is not only on fun and learning new skills, but also trying to mold kids to be the best people they can be. They have generations of campers who have gone back home each summer with a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. Not to mention lifelong friendships. Two of my camp friends were in my bridal party. It's an amazing place and I was lucky to have spent so many summers there. Can't wait for my son to go when he's older!
