When you move, ADT will send sales reps to your new home harassing and pressuring you to buy their service and cameras. I tried calling ADT to demand they stop sending people to our home but you are not able to speak with anyone unless you are a customer. I cannot recommend a company that treats people this way. I will report this company to BBB and pursue further action if one more representative comes to our home without our consent

Terrible customer service. Found out after my alarm started chirping that they no longer support my system. No call, no email, just a chirp. And when I called the number on the keypad was told it must be the landline. NOT 4 weeks later and over 4.5 hours on phone with multiple ADT depts, still no resolution. Alarm still chirping that there's a communication issue. Of course this didn't stop them from charging me for the weeks of nonmonitoring!

Recently switched service from Vivint to ADT after moving. Have been with them for 2 weeks and the equipment is functioning well enough. However, we received a coupon in the mail the day after our service was installed that was for a free Nest doorbell camera and ADT hub ($538 value). We called ADT and they said they would apply this value to our account as we had received the coupon the day after. I called after about a week and a half as the coupon hadn’t been applied. After nearly 3 hours on the phone and after talking to 8 different people, I was told that my coupon would not be applied. Bad business to promise one thing, and then a week later go back on it! Even though the equipment has worked well, the customer service experience has been very disappointing thus far. Regretting being locked into a 5 year contract with this company! Would have stuck with Vivint had I known it would be like this.

They are the worst I was on hold for a hour and a half, only to find out that I have to pay to close my account. I ask the sell man when he came to my house is there a closing fee he told me no I can cancel any time. My income has changed and now I'm screwed. Don't get service

the fact that i even have to leave a review is obscure, but if i didn't have to i wouldn't. this company is absolutely the worst! havent even had the damn service for 2 months and its been nothing but crap! and everytime someone is supposed to come out...they dont! the cameras dont even record someone walking directly to the front...in front of the doorbell camera passing my other 2 front cameras...not 1 damn camera catches anything. oh but it will catch a tree blowing! then when the damn memory is full from recording the tree so much, you have to manually erase each video yourself to create room to record more tree recordings! the overly expensive panel doesnt even hold any footage you can watch, everything has to be watched through your smartphone. smh the whole damn company is a joke, i guess part is our fault because we paid for our cameras upfront, payed for our service for a year upfront and they just screwed us. we even have the guy personal number so when things dont work for him to come our and fix everything and nope hes even more full of it. pls pls pls dont buy into their lies and pls dont buy into their business!

Do the world a service and don't give this company any your time or money. Horrible service. I have been on the phone with ADT for 1.5 hours at this point. I have a malfunctioning sensor that has woken my family (including my 8 month old) twice now in 2 nights in the middle of the night. My system and equipment is less that 5 months old but already out of warranty. This isn't guy first issue with the system. Services promised have not been provided. Im asking for a refund (they have a 6 month guarantee) but am having no luck. Please Please Please don't do business with these people!!!!!!!

We’ve been with ADT for years (estimate 7 years). I’ve spent thousands installing the very best equipment (cameras, window monitors, smoke alarms, carbon dioxide alarms, light switch automation, etc). Unfortunately, the system has never completely worked. And I don’t mean just the cameras. Even when the alarm tripped, no contact or acknowledgement that the alarm went off occurred. We have had ADT come to the house 1-2 times per year for each of the last several years and the tech gets things (sort of) working but it fails quickly thereafter. Last time (6 months ago) I spent $1,500 on the latest cameras in hopes it would help. But it didn’t. We also had the panel battery replaced and it failed again in less than 2 weeks. Our doorbell has never worked for more than 1 week after we’ve had someone out. The people at ADT are generally kind and certainly want to help. Our experience, however, has been awful. ADT has just been one big money pit for us. But I’m sure there are people who have had better experiences. Hopefully, this honest review will save someone else from the experience and huge investment losses we have encountered.

ADT has the worst customer service in the industry. I am on hold with them now and have been for 45 minutes. I reached out to them last week and spent the better part of an hour and 15 minutes dealing with technical support and then the call was cut off. No call back from the technician in spite of the fact that he had my cell number for a return call. I will be changing to another provider the minute my contract is up with ADT which cannot come soon enough. I'm giving ADT one star only because at least one is required.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. Horrible customer service. They charge us monthly for services they don't provide. Their equipment sucks. When I called to have service performed, they set up appointments and THREE TIMES they were a no-show, after we stayed home and waited for four hours each time. When they finally showed up, they still didn't fix the problem. They locked us into a five year contract and won't let us out of it. We are paying a lot every month for FIVE YEARS for equipment that doesn't work; we're not getting what we paid for, and there's nothing we can do about it. If you're in need of home security equipment and service, STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM ADT! They are totally incapable of servicing their systems, and they'll rip you off in the meantime.

Over the past few months I have been provided with the worst customer service ever with ADT. They auto-drafted over $400 from my checking account with no notice whatsoever and have passed me around to several different reps over the past few months all who were not helpful and all who told me false information. They still owe me almost $700 back and continue to treat me like I don't matter at all. I have documentation and proof of all this and they continue to tell me they will "see what they can do" and never resolve anything or get me my money back. This poor service has been going on since July. I will never ever ever use them again and will advise everyone I can speak to to stay away from them unless they like their money to be taken from them and withheld without reason, help, or a solution.

Run and don't look back.Security system went out after a 1 hour power outage. System would never come back on. Called and scheduled appointment. Even received an email confirmation. Few hours later, received a cancelation for appointment.Called and the person scheduling had no record of appointment.Repair is now scheduled for a week out. This is for a widow.Time to look elsewhere. No customer service.

- ADT didn't respond to a break-in that occurred while I was home.- ADT is taking money from me for services they aren't providing.- ADT is not actively monitoring my home because of a malfunction caused by their technician.- ADT has not been monitoring my home since APRIL even though I have been paying them too.- ADT tried to use predatory practices to lock me into a year long contract after I asked for compensation for THEIR failure.- DO NOT USE ADTThe police told me they would have caught the guy had the been there a few minutes sooner. Minutes that would have been saved had ADT done their job. Anyone but ADT is a better choice!EDIT: I posted the long version of this review on Trustpilot and was contacted by ADT. I reached out to them per their request and they made the matter worse than it already was. Terrible company. I'm switching to a competitor.

After experiencing several problems with my adt motion detector. ADT, evidently got tired of sending a technician to my house. So the tech placed a small piece of cardboard inside of my motion detector. I went on for about a year and had some other problem. Another technician came out and found what the previous tech had done.So basically one third of my house had no, none, nada security protection. And adt never even offered to make it right. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!Sorry, I canceled your service long ago! Went with SimpliSafe. Complete monitoring, burglary, fire, and video monitoring for $23.99. NO CONTRACT. You cannot touch that.
