Personally when I came here I was helped and was given over and beyond customer service. Thank you Angelo for helping me find my package! Being at temporary lodging I had a gift from a family member that we could not find and Angelo went above and beyond to help me find it and point me in the right direction to pick it up. I got it with no problems. Thank you again!

90 minute lunch breaks and somehow still not open at 1445 when they supposedly reopen. They never returned. Had a poor young woman without a vehicle a 3 large packages to ship standing outside in 90° heat and 70% humidity. Absolutely wild.

I visited at 2:30 on 13 June 2025 and they were closed despite all indications of their hours online and the sign on door saying that they are open. Very sunny day today so definitely not a weather issue.

Unreliable: 1:46PM Tuesday 21 January and the office is closed. I guess they used “weather” as an excuse to not work and collect their salary. Well I guess they’re out enjoying the sun.

Surprised by my 2-minute trip to the post office 2 days before Christmas. I came at 10:45 am, and only 2 people there. The man with the brown hair got me in and out. Grateful for this experience.

The clerk with a beard and half a head of hair is incredibly rude, sarcastic, and has no interpersonal skills.

This is one of those cases where the business seems to live down to each of the frustrated reviews. I advise anyone to avoid using this location unless absolutely required.
Lack of predictability: randomly closes. We had tried to call this location several times where the phone rang without being answered. We assumed it was just because of foot traffic. When visiting at 2:10 pm, the post office was locked. There were no signs on the window or door indicating a reason or estimated time to reopen. After going to another post office and voicing my frustration, they commented that they hear it from people from time to time because of there being one employee at the Lackland location. Even if that's the case, it doesn't excuse the lack of predictability or communication, though.
Lack of knowledge (or perhaps care): when I had items to deliver, the employee couldn't answer my questions or advise me fully on options. He quickly told me just to use Priority Mail Flate Rate without me providing any details, making it feel like it was because it is the simplest option, not because it was the best one for what I needed (e.g., size, weight, tracking, time, etc.).
Lack of reliability: I mailed two different items that were both Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes on a Friday at 1:00 pm. Neither one made it to the first distribution center (in Dallas) until Thursday morning. Based on tracking, it looks like it took a week just to leave the post office.
Lack of diligence: we had an issue where we were trying to pick up an item that they sent back. The post office employee claimed that he called us multiple times (at the right number) to inform us of pick-up, but we didn't have a single voicemail or missed call in the week in question. I don't want to assume it's an integrity issue, but there is an impact on effectiveness either way.

I ship my son quite a bit of mail and without fail it’s never there after we get notification that it is. Additionally I get there are processes in place but for instance today he went to pickup a package he’s been expecting for his birthday and they tell him “come back after the holidays” and it arrived there last night! The attitudes are out of control like they don’t care to even be there, so stay home. But it’d be nice to be able to get a package without the terrible service. The base itself should be ashamed their personnel are treated this poorly. Mail is moral.

I came to this post office recently for the purpose of sending a large envelope to Alabama via First-Class Mail. The visit turned out to be a disappointing experience. First, the clerk stated that my transaction would require the use of a credit card because he was not taking cash. Second, my large envelope was classified as a package. It needed $5.95 postage. I declined the service and took my large envelope to another post office. At that post office, I was charged $2.83 for a First-Class Mail Large Envelope.
