This place has the best hamburger that I've ever had at a business establishment. There was also live music, and friendly patrons. I cannot overstate the burger.

This place is awesome! Hard to describe but just a cool atmosphere with cold beer and great burgers. There was a young lady singing tonight and she was amazing, unfortunately the video just doesn’t do her justice. We had a great evening!!

I gotta say, i came up to this place expecting just a drink or two. Ended up getting one of the better burgers that i have had in a minute. Kinda hilarious the bartender looked me up and down and said "we got two IPAS on draft"... I got the alstadt IPA. you know me so well ma'am ?

We couldn't have asked for a better local place for beer, burgers, and atmosphere. The owners are awesome as are the other customers we've met. Whether you're just passing through, live in the area, or are enjoying the state park, you won't be disappointed. My family grew up in the area and frequent the state park. We have added this stop to our regular after-park agenda!

Stopped here for a burger and beer while staying at the park. It was a nice place to go. Dave (?) was very friendly and attentive and the burger was honestly one of the best I've had - I'm guessing because it's actually made on a BBQ pit and there was plenty of vegetables, etc. on it.Vegetarian options: They had a veggie burger optionKid-friendliness: Lots of room to run aroundParking: Plenty

At a deserted T-section just outside of Pedernales Falls State Park sits the Pedernales Falls Trading Post.At first glance it is nothing special. Just a tin building at the end of the road, covered with signs advertising various products. The trees over the driveway make the entry a bit tight if your rig is tall and the open yard where you park looks pretty basic.Once you get out and start walking towards the main building you begin to get more of a feel for the place. There is a bandstand, outdoor tables and great yard decorations. The large L-shaped deck is inviting and has seating along the railings.Once inside you are immediately greeted by Dolly, who is one of the most hospitable people you will ever meet. During the day she runs the store, serves the drinks and cooks the food, all while keeping everyone looked after and entertained. You could spend hours looking at all of the decorations and memorabilia in the Trading Post. One can only imagine the stories that must go with some of the items. There is a good variety of cold beer. The food menu is basically hot-dogs (really big sausages) and hamburgers cooked to your liking. The hamburger that I had was the best that I have tasted in a very long time.David, the owner, comes onsite a little later. He is also very easy to talk to and extremely helpful. If you plan things properly you will be there on a night when there is entertainment. Suddenly, this quiet little place at the T-interesetion comes to life as the local residents come from miles around to visit and enjoy the music. They were gracious enough to invite us to join them and we had a wonderful evening. If you are in the area make Pedernales Falls Trading Post a planned stop in your itinerary.
