Leon the “manager” was really rude, rushed and ruined our kids first build a bear experience would not recommend this location because this is the type of people they hire to run their location. Elizabeth however is the reason why I rated this place any stars she was super sweet and helped our boys stuffed their bears and made their experience magical before Leon ruined it :( left out without a birth certificate for our friends because she said the printer was closed when she was just being lazy. Just say that! It’s just sad how much we spent in there just to have our experience ruined at the end of it all! We only went through with buying the bears for our kids sakes. I will be giving a call to corporate tomorrow when they open. Beware!

Bad customer service, no help at all. I waited there for an hour and a half to make a refund for some items I BOUGHT THERE. Manager on duty told me to wait until she checked the receipts and ended up telling me she couldn’t do anything about it even though I can just return them online. They were not efficient and completely left me unattended for that long period of time. Not recommend to go there with the Purple haired manager.

Ive been taking my daughter to build a bear every year for her birthday. She turned 3 yesterday and we took her to the Katy mills location because we wanted to eat at rainforest cafe. It wasn’t until we were on our hour and a half way home that I realized they didn’t give us the birth certificates for the two bears we purchased. I love keeping them for my daughter in a binder so one day she can look back at them and have those memories. That being said, I called build a bear and the women said yes they are here at the front desk.
I Asked if they could email or mail them to us. She said NO and that they will only hold them until the end of the day as if they are taking up too much space. I told her well it is yalls fault that they were not put in our bag. She said “it’s just a piece of paper” How rude. She must not have kids and hold on to precious memories. She absolutely should not be working at a children’s place. We will never go back to this location. Thankfully we found a way to get the birth certificates made online. So Ha!

Came in after a horrible experience at the Memorial City Mall (see before photo-bad sew job). Kamber helped us immediately and resolved our issue in a timely manner. I definitely would return to this location again after this experience.

I brought in bears that I bought online from years ago for my daughter. I was told that due to Covid they don’t stuff bears that weren’t directly purchased in store. I even called the Build A Bear Customer service line just to be sure they’d be able to and they stated all stores should. The manager was a bit rude in her tone. So, I honestly just decided to leave and go to a different store.

I never had a bad experience here but today was different. I brought my daughter here to get her birthday bear. During checking out she started crying to buy clothes. The transaction had already gone through and we took her to the side of the store to calm her down. When we came back in one staff member said they have a birthday bundle with clothes and the recorder. At this point I had already purchased the bear and the recorder. I asked if they could do a return and re-ring me with the birthday bundle which was more money. They refused stating that discounted items cannot be returned and we “left “ the premises…we were literally steps away from the entrance. My issue is that no staff member explained there was a birthday bundle option knowing we are there for the birthday bear which lead to the horrible customer service.

This build a bear was great, the lady was so helpful she helped when I took my two daughters to get a birthday gift. She got the stitch and there was so many clothing options the lady stuffing the bears was super sweet.

It was my first time at a build a bear workshop. I had gotten a longhorn for my girlfriend and the process was fun. The workers made the experience easy.

The manager that is there on Saturdays is extremely rude and unprofessional. Very dismissive when I asked questions and did not seem to care about the quality of service. I will not be shopping at this location anymore and will be making the 30 minute drive to a workshop where employees are friendlier. Do better, this is a stuffed animal store! Get off your high horse

Perfect experience they even treated a fellow Build-A-Bear employee as she was a customer. We’ve been to build a bears all over the country and right now this is our top experience

Love going in here for every birthday the two that be working there is always nice and friendly. Them accessories start to add up but it's OK for the kid

I love coming to this location in Katy Mills!! The customer service is always amazing!! I’ve been to the store when there’s no customer in the store to when it’s extremely packed…the service is always the same…GREAT!!! This location is always well organized and stocked as well! Keep up the amazing work!!!

I just wanted to thank sonya who from the time I called on the phone to leaving the store took care of all my needs all while having a store full of people to attend to with the other staff members who were also very nice and helpful she made me feel like I was the only one there while also multitasking and handling other customers she made this special moment for me memorable and happy as I just lost my mom and wanted something special so thanks again girl we will be back soon and keep doing what your doing because your customer service was awesome
