Don’t go here. They charge fees to check things that other auto service do not. They charged me 100.00 for diagnostics for brakes and shocks. Then wanted 700.00 for back brakes and drum and 600 for front and rotors but didn’t say anything about pad usage. Really? You can get this done anywhere for 300 with life time warranty at brake check. Then charged me 125 diagnostics to tell me what was needed to get my vehicle ready for inspection. The results were the same as the diagnostic I did 6mo earlier which was the nice sensor which they wanted 1350.00 for this. Then they said they would do any of the work if I didn’t do the brakes. They wanted 3500.00 to fix what I needed for inspection. These people are not trust worthy and would rather argue their point with a new customer and collect the diagnostic fees than do any real work. It’s sad that they don’t realize the long term value of a satisfied customer treated fairly. People will pay a fair price to honest businesses. Just don’t waste your time here.

IN MY OPINION, the service here was very bad. I was provided with a charge of $500+ for simply a replacement of my battery. A couple of hours after dropping off my car, the owner called me and gave me a quote of over $900+ to address my alternator and bad battery. He confirmed during my diagnostic that my alternator was good so I didn’t feel that this was necessary and I declined that and asked if he could ONLY replace the battery and clean up the battery terminals for me since mine looked rough. I was never given a new price for JUST replacing my battery and cleaning the terminals. I was told I would be contacted the next morning but nobody called. The next day I called their office twice and was told that I would be contacted soon by the person that was responsible for my vehicle. When I finally received a call from him, he stated that the labor was done and my total was over $500+ (cost of battery, labor for battery replacement, idle relearn fee - which I called Firestone and spoke with the techs and they didn’t think this was a necessary service/cost just to change the battery, and last the diagnostic fee was still being charged even though I allowed them to perform the work). I was told that my battery alone was $300 and with the other charges, this is how he got to $500+. Again, in my opinion, this fee was excessive and didn’t reflect what should have been my adjusted charge after removing his alternator service from his original $900+ quote.I was told the $900 quote for battery replacement and alternator service was a discounted rate. So I just couldn’t understand how the total for just replacing my battery was $500+. I respect the fact that this is their business and they can charge what they would like, but I think it would have been better business to let me, the customer know and make sure this is within budget before doing the work. That way I could have just said no, that’s too much let me shop around.I also would have appreciated a phone call to let me know how much the cost of the battery was going to be and just a full estimate for the service recommendations overall.A fee of over $500+ for a battery replacement is significant enough to me as a customer, and certainly enough to warrant a phone call to first confirm this charge with me before doing the work to make sure I could afford this.NOW, When I expressed my discontent and discomfort with this customer service over all, his response to addressing this was to reverse all of the service and he did not charge me ANYTHING which I appreciated. However, I had to wait over half an hour for someone to bring the old battery back and additional time for them to put everything back.I was visiting from out of town and this all prolonged my trip even longer. I wasn’t pleased with the service at all and although they came off very nice, I didn’t feel that I had a great experience.

Customer service is horrible here in my opinion and there is a lack of professionalism based on what I witnessed. How can you charge someone without confirming the charges or even speaking with the customer to finalize the total and the service/labor that will be rendered. How can you attempt to charge someone over $500 for a battery change and an "idle relearning". There should be communication with the customer to confirm prices and services. A customer should know pricing upfront. The price in my opinion is excessive.

They do some good work. But they ripped an emblem off the back of my car (emblem was found inside my car after I got the car back. Car was brought to Car Scientist by a tow truck. Could the tow truck have done it? Yeah but since the emblem was found and placed back in my car it was most likely Car Scientist). AC was working when I brought car in, AC didnt work when I left. Headlight needed electrical work. I specifically told them not to change the bulb. They did anyway, and charged me. Several months later headlight doesnt work. They can fix an alternator and oil pan, but they can break AC and rip of car emblems too.Edit: Yes thats me, May 2022. Some friends and I were talking about car repairs way after the fact and it just reminded me. Am I a douche for posting this a year and a half after the fact? I dunno maybe you can make the call. But the review is 100% accurate. Yeah the emblem isnt necessarily you but the emblem was found in the backseat of my car so most likely it was done at your place. Again I cant pin it on yall but its awfully coincidental. Im not mad about that though. The A/C worked when I dropped the car off, the A/C did not work when I picked the car up. Those are the facts. Again if the A/C died on its own, again, another totally random coincidence. Yes I declined the compressor work. The headlight issue though, I specifically told yall it was electrical and it was not the bulb but you replaced the bulb anyway. It was a totally different color and I believe I paid for it, check the invoice. Also the electrical fix worked for about a year, again another reason to wait to write the review. My headlight doesnt work right now. I was planning on selling the car last summer but the car market (high prices and high interest rates) have made me keep it for now. Again another reason for waiting to write the review.Again sorry, yall were super nice, we spoke about both having family in Memphis and got along. I just went in for a bad alternator and bad headlight. Came out with a good alternator, a good headlight (for a year until it broke again), a bad A/C and torn off emblem. So I decided to review. Up to the readers I guess to decide on if your shop did the emblem and A/C or they are purely coincidental. This is why I dont like bad reviews though, I really dont like to dog on people. But the review isnt unfounded at all.

We found this car repair when we arrived in Texas in 2020. The owner and his wife were exceptional at customer service and a trust was built. We took all 3 cars there for three years. However things changed this year. We’d drop our car off for service and 6 hours later it isn’t even looked at and this is after calling them first to confirm they could take care of it. Then their prices went up. $113 for an oil change and $102 to fix a break light and add window washer fluid. On one oil change our car was there all day, still no service so we had to go back the next day and came out leaking oil. We had to go back the third day to get it fixed. Our recent visit we dropped it off and At hour four, it hadn’t even been touched. They only completed it because i called as I had to go to work. I feel I’ve been taken for a ride. They don’t seem to care anymore and with those prices for small service I can’t trust their integrity. It’s pretty sad. Perhaps it’s inflation but I feel it’s taking advantage. They lost our family’s business for good.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I came in because I was 3 hours away from home at a friends house and my air conditioning went out. With a long drive in front of me I came in hopeful it would be fixed easily. Kieth was so sweet and got me fixed up. His staff were also very courteous and treated me like family. I HIGHLY recommend Car Scientist, they are a great group of people who do their best to make sure you have a wonderful experience and leave a smile on your face when you walk out the door.Service: Air conditioning

Horrible customer service. The lead mechanic was short & came off very condescending. They estimated my labor for fuel tank pressure sensor replacement to be $600+ when I was providing my own part. Also needed shaking to be diagnosed and he told me to go somewhere else for that
