**This review is a collective of 5 families with children in all different age groups, some families have been here for 7+ years.**
As parents who have had children enrolled at Children's Lighthouse Woodcreek Reserve for some time, we feel compelled to share our growing concerns since the change in ownership. Unfortunately, the new owners prioritize cutting costs over providing quality care and enriching experiences for the children.
Field trips, which were once exciting and well-rounded experiences, have been significantly downgraded. Children now receive only a basic sandwich with a single slice of meat and cheese—barely enough for a growing child on a full day out. Even more disappointing, they’re no longer allowed to eat from the cafeteria at locations like the Space Center or Children’s Museum, which severely limits their access to nutritious options while away from the daycare.
Staffing has also taken a noticeable hit. The new director seems to struggle with retention, and in the past few months, there has been a revolving door of staff members. Many recent hires are fresh out of high school with little to no experience, and that lack of training and maturity is starting to show in the quality of supervision and engagement with the children.
One teacher, one of the recent high school graduates, in the grade-level room is particularly troubling—she yells at the children in an unnecessarily harsh and rude manner throughout the day. This kind of environment is not acceptable or healthy for young children.
Another issue is that the staff are not equipped to handle special behaviors—especially in the toddler room. There have been multiple incidents where children have gotten hurt, and it’s clear the staff are not trained in behavior management, conflict resolution, or even basic safety protocols. This is not only unacceptable, it’s dangerous.
Even more disturbing is the behavior of the new male owner. He is a complete stranger to the students and has been seen on video by a parents entering classrooms and spending time with the children. As a parent, I was extremely uncomfortable seeing this man—whom my 7-year-old daughter does not know—interacting with her in close proximity. This crosses serious professional boundaries and raises significant safety concerns.
That said, there are still a few staff members who deserve recognition for their care and dedication. Ms.Cece and Ms.GiGi are truly amazing—they go above and beyond for the children and are a bright light in an otherwise deteriorating environment. Ms. Kylie even used her own money to buy bracelet-making materials so the girls could enjoy a creative activity. Shouldn't this be something the center is providing? And Ms.Cato takes the time to really talk to the children—she recently recommended several book series to one boy who’s now been reading all summer because of her encouragement.
But despite the efforts of a few outstanding individuals, we strongly urge other families to STAY AWAY from Children's Lighthouse Woodcreek Reserve. The current leadership has lost sight of what matters most: the safety, well-being, and development of our children. Until major changes are made, this daycare is no longer a place we can trust. Our children deserve the best and Children's Lighthouse Woodcreek Reserve is not it. Our children will not be returning after this month. We strongly encourage you to look elsewhere also.

We’ve been attending Children’s Lighthouse of Woodcreek for about six months now, with both our 3-year-old and 9-month-old enrolled.
Every day, I’m amazed at how much my 3-year-old is learning. Today he recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and he already knows his colors, numbers, and so much more. His teachers—and the entire staff—are truly the sweetest group. It’s clear they’re genuinely invested in helping my kids learn and grow. My son looks forward to going to school every day and even asks to go on weekends. It makes me so happy to see him thriving and loving school.
Our 9-month-old started in Room 1 when he was just 4 months old, and I can’t say enough about how much we appreciate his teachers. The way they love and care for him is incredible. Every morning he lights up when he sees Ms. Silvia, and that joy gives me so much peace knowing he’s in such good hands.
We absolutely love Children’s Lighthouse and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality childcare. ❤️ - The Pechaceks

My child has been in daycare for almost 2.5 years. He loves it, and the staff feel like family to us. However, there's one concern — moving kids to the next class seems to be a major challenge. It appears the delay may be intentional, possibly because the next level comes with a higher fee. Holding children back in a lower class to avoid a small increase in cost reflects extremely poor business practice. Additionally, Terry Brine is consistently negative and very difficult to work with.

Children's Lighthouse has been so wonderful for our family. Each teacher we have had so far has been so loving and caring towards my daughter. They take the time to get the know the kiddos and parents. It feels like family from the time you tour. We love it here!

Lighthouse has been an extension of our family. The team has gone above and beyond to ensure my sons are cared for appropriately based on their individual needs. Our sons love the care givers and staff.

This daycare is unresponsive. I emailed multiple times to take a tour with no response. I also called to set up a tour and no one answered the phone. Those were red flags for me.

We're thrilled with our experience here so far! My daughter is thriving in her academics, she loves her teachers. I personally love getting sent what they are learning and working on each month to also talk/incorporate those things in our home. I also love all the activities and events, never experienced a daycare quite like this one. ?

Both our children have been at lighthouse for the past 18 months, at pre-k and after school care.We are all extremely happy with our experience and it has become a second home. There are great acitvities for the kids and the staff and owners are genuine and caring, helpful and overall wonderful. I have already recommended Lighthouse to my friends and family.

Moved to the Katy Area in August 2023. Looked at several daycare options in the area. Decided to go with CLWC after carefully comparing each one of the daycares. Very happy with our decision, our daughter loves to go daycare every day and seems to be learning a lot each week. The live camera access is a great plus too.
